Fun Kart Racer

A continuation and spin-off of the Jak and Daxter series, "Jak X: Combat Racing" is similar in method to Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing - a car-based version of a platformer game.

There is, however, a plot to the game, unlike some other spin-off games. Jak and his friends from Jak 2 and 3 are gathered to read the will for Krew, the now-deceased crime lord from Jak 2. From the grave (represented by a holographic message), Krew poisons all present with a "special vintage" of wine that serves as his funeral toast, and then says the antidote will be given to them by one of his associates if they win the city championship. After this, there are many twists as the various racers go through the championship mode.

The gameplay is based on the driving in Jak 3. Many of the controls should be familiar to players of that game. Like most spin-off driving games, there are weapons to be collected such as mines, missiles, and machine guns, and driving-based bonuses like turbo boosts and power sliding. The cars handle decently, and control is for the most part acceptable.

There are many upgrades for the cars, as well; these change the handling and physical appearance of the cars. For the most part the cars themselves have a rough, Mad Max style appearance, with a pretty good variety of car types. There are different colors and accessories available.

The graphics are about as good as the later Jak games, and there are cutscenes to illustrate the game's storyline. The audio is, again, the same as the Jak games. There's a fairly nice consistency; despite its racer status, it still feels like part of the total series.

Overall, this could've been a lot worse. It wasn't exceptional, by any means, but for a "kart racer" spinoff, this could've been a lot less well done. The fact that it was tied into the real story was also a nice bonus. But, mainly, it's so generically done that there isn't any reason to recommend or not recommend it.

I had the pleasure to be one of the beta testers for this game. This game is totally awesome and it has great characters. Fun for all ages (teen and up). I recommend this game for anyone looking for a killer, challenging racing game that allows you to blow stuff up. REMEMBER: First place is NOT the safest place to be!!!

This game is one of the best games I have ever played! Especially the online play it is awsome you play with your friend at your house in split screen online! Even if you can't play online it still gets a 4 star rating this game ranks with all the Burnout games. If you love action racing games you will love this one. I didn't like racing games that much but when
I played this game it made me love racing games! You must buy Jak X Combat Racing!

I rate this game as 5 stars because it is so fun and awesome. You get to go to 2 cities, Haven city, and Spargus city(my favorite is Spargus).
In Haven city you were banished by Count Veger to the Wasteland, where almost no one can survive. Jak and Daxter are found dehydrated in the wasteland by Damas, Spargus City's ruler. Damas takes him back to Spargus City and heals him. Then he has to fight in an arena to prove to Damas that he isn't useless.
After the battles, Spargus city becomes your home. You do missions and stuff then go to Haven city. The baron died in Jak2, and in this game there is a war in Haven city. The only thing I don't like in this game is that there is a war in Haven city. Everyone is tired, and depressed, and metalheads and KG robots just keep coming. It's up to Jak and Daxter to destroy the KG weapon factory, and save the planet.
I recommend this game to anyone who likes Action/Adventure games. If you are one of these people, go and buy Jak 3!

Yeah, dude! Who IS trashing this prestigious review section wi-

the belower is right, this game does rock! the best racing game
with guns and intense action of the year! I'm putting spoilers,
sorry! but for persuasion,

Choice games: Of course, you don't just race, it's like Ratchet:
Deadlocked, you have numerous games to choose from. I'll give y-
ou the list:

Circuit Race: This is the riding 'round track thing and be the
uno to cross the finish line.
Death Race: You have to shoot down dummie cars to a surrent goal
before times diminishes.
Deathmatch: You have to shoot opponent drivers (no matter if yo-
ur favourite are) till a driver kills ten or time runs out.
Artifact Race: you have to accumulate numerous artifacts till t-
ime dies.
Rush Hour: This is the best one, you have to ram into dummie ca-
rs to a surrent amount!
Turbo Dash: Get a Power Cell and turbo it and fire it when full,
and WATCH OUT FOR DRIVERS! THEY'LL SHOOT YOU AND YOU'LL LOSE IT!
Freeze Rally: Do these last! These SUCK! I hate em', you have to
freeze time to suceed the track within the time limit It's HARD!
Time Trial: This is one for Online/Offline Mode... I don't do it
so let's go on.
Sport Hunt: Race against drivers to kill a sport such as larger
bleu Metal-Heads.
Capture: This is a big'n. Your team has to get a Power Cell and
bring it to your portal and watch out for your opponent...
Assassin: I've never played, but I've got the manual, A racer w-
ill be chosen as a target. Beat all the other drivers and kill
the target first it says.

Wow! I am shocked! This game is so bad, do not listen to the commercials, this game is the worst. First off graphics, bad
Second, gameplay, bad Third, totally a Mario Kart Rip OFF!!!
and don't go off and buy Crash Tag Team Racing cuz its nothing like the commercial. If you are looking for a real game, get Full Auto, Don't have an Xbox 360 get Need For Speed Most Wanted.

Ratchet in Jak X!

Ratchet and Clank games are much better than Jak games. I'm only giving this game 4 stars instead of 3 stars because Ratchet is in Jak X.

Trust me, I only review bad games, and trust me this is a bad game. The graphics stink, the gameplay is horrible, the weapons are totally dumb, and trust me I am a Jak fan. Don't buy this game listen to the guys who's title is "Wow" go buy Need for Speed Most Wanted. This game is horrible
