The Kings Quest series for XP lives up to its repution along with its origional renditions of this series. I found no problems with the graphics or sound and no gliches in the programing. I have had no problems with the game crashing or with the game play in any way. I have enjoyed it so much and can honestly recomend this wonderful adventure game series to any who have played the KQs in the past or those who have not played it before. I am so glad they produced the update for XP so I can continue to play this series. L.Mellinger

I got this a few weeks ago so I could play number 7 on XP, and it works great! It's a fun set of games if you like adventure/puzzle type of games. The only thing is that it's not fast to play and you don't have to fight anyone. It's more like a story and you're just going through it to see what happens next, but it has some fun puzzles along the way.
Great game for price!

If you grew up with KQ, you will love love love this game. We didn't have the first one, and I gather it's been redone, but I still found it enjoyable. The others were exactly as I remembered them. I bought this game mainly for nostalgic reasons, but became quite addicted to it when it first came. I would highly recommend this game, especially if you grew up playing the KQ adventure series.

So yeah, I was a little disappointed that KQIX is no more...but why stop buying the games? We're probably better off supporting Vivendi to show them how big the fan base for Kings Quest really is. Maybe then We'll get an official KQIX and everyone can be happy...
Has anyone heard what this compilation has in it?

I eagerly awaited receipt of this game only to be somewhat disappointed. First off the graphics don't look as they are portrayed on the game box. The game graphics are 8 and 16 bit for the first three or four games, which if you've been playing games for any length of time you will remember those were the graphics associated with 286 and 386 intel computers of yore. Second, without a hint guide getting through the game might be an exercise in patience. Having been an owner of each of these games at their original release, I recall that some of the puzzles were solved with the most obscure solutions possible; and without the hint guide, I wouldn't have solved them at all. Needless to say, I have not finished any of these re-released versions yet. Unless you enjoy not finishing the games you buy, pass on this one.
Kings Quest Compilation....just the old one on a CD rather than a floppy!

I expected this to be the old game stories, but re-done with nicer graphics. Unfortunately it was only the really old Apple Computer games, which can't even use a mouse, and require you to write in what you want the character to do. Plus, it takes forever for the guy/girl to even move across the screen. It didn't say Anywhere on the box that it was the old game just put on a CD. I still have those on floppy discs somewhere. I wouldn't have had to buy this if I just wanted the old ones!! Stacy >^.,.^<

I was just wondering if anyone has purchased this yet. Does it include KQ1-8?, or is it just an updated rerelease of KQ1-6?

"I am very saddened that the members of the former FAN-GAME King's Quest IX, are taking out their frustrations on this forum instead of dealing with the company itself." I just want to point out that the Unofficial KQIX TEAM is NOT taking their frustrations out on Vivendi. Many of the fans are upset that the game has been shut down, and quite a few of them are threatening to boycott Vivendi. I, myself, am a fan and, while I'm upset, I understand that VU was protecting themselves as a company. Will I buy the compilation? I don't know. I'm a graduate student with limited funds...plus, I don't want to buy it unless I know KQV and VI will work without DosBox (I STILL haven't figured out how to get it to work...)
