Exceptional Game from an Exeptional Company!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 9 / 15

This game is due to be released on November 17th, not the 20th. At least that's what EB-World.com has the date as, and they are pretty reliable, when it comes to release dates...

Anyhow -- this game looks great! If anything, it will tremendously enhance Everquest Online Adventures, with new character models, the new Ogre race, and the new class of Alchemist.

Many new zones will be added as well, so the game space for EQ Online Adventures will be huge!!

Another great addition for Frontiers, will be the addition of 5 more spell slots. This is greatly needed, and I am very much looking forward to storing 10 spells, instead of 5...

Keep up the good work Sony Online Entertainment. Everquest 2 is going to absolutely ROCK for the PC, and it's due out in March. Until then, I suggest playing EQ Online Adventures, and grab the Frontiers Expansion.

EQ is CLEARLY the best MMORPG in the world, and it will just keep getting better and better...

I LOVE CHANGES!!!!....

I have played alot of RPG's in the past. Typically after the putting about 40 hours of playing most traditional RPG's (and still not beating them) I get bored and move on because most RPG's are soooo much of the same thing over and over again.

EQOA: Frontiers is the most addicting RPG I have ever played!!!! There are tons of places to visit in the giant world and different things to do in each town. This game allows you to have a completely unique game playing experience and is an ever changing world. I got sooo sick of traditional RPG's because they are the same no matter who plays them or how many times you play them. In this game if you wanna try something different just start a new character of a different race or of a different class. I guarantee you it will be a completely different experience then the last time.

The best part about this game is that it is a massive multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG) and it is on a CONSOLE. I don't play computer MMORPG's because pretty much every expansion requires you to buy a new computer to keep up with the drivers, graphics, sound, etc.

Additionally, the game developers update this game often adding enhancements to the game all the time. Giving you changes and improving your gameplay.

So if you are bored with "more of the same" RPG's then try this out. FRONTIERS made a huge step forward on the original as far as graphics and ease of playing. The Developers are adding a new group search engine to help you find groups easier.

In final, I have alot of experience playing this game. I have a level 41 Elf Paladin on the Castle Lightwolf Server and several other characters. You can find TONS of information on-line as far as quests and classes. Try this game out. if you do and need any help get on the Castle Lightwolf server and just look me up.
My characters name is Tobiaslee.

Can you improve on perfection?

Surprisingly, the answer is, 'Yes. Yes you can.'

The original EQOA is the best of the overcrowded MMORPG herd. It's simple and fast paced, inexpensive and addictive. From a technology perspective it does amazing things on a PS2 without a harddrive. When I first played it, I couldn't imagine making a better RPG without waiting for the next generation of consoles to come out.

But SOE did it. EQOA: Frontiers is that better RPG! It's the same shared world as the original- both sets of players can fight side-by-side. Most of what SOE improved on are the little things, things that you'd never even notice until you played both. The imagery and music is better. There are ambient effects like fog and raining brimstone in the right places. The skies and the weather are just a little bit more present and real.

Best of all, though, your character is more customizable with better textures and an absolutely fantastic 'Class Mastery' system that lets you choose what path you want to take to power. Even within the same class and race, two characters can end up with very different strengths and weaknesses.

Add all that to making what is already a huge online landscape even larger, and you have more than a great game. It's an achievement.

And so I'd have to say that EQOA: Frontiers is my new pick for the finest of the MMORPG genre. Start with the original if you're skeptical- it only costs as much as a month's subscription. But mark my words, you'll end up buying the upgrade to fuel your addiction.

And when you do, you'll be impressed. Very impressed.

Good PS2 Game

Some people say that this game should only be for the PC, but this is the kind of game the PS2 needs. This game is fun, and very addicting. I can play it for hours into the night. Basically, this is a very fun game and it sure doesn't end quick. That's one of the great things about it, unlike regular games that you can beat in 1 or 2 days, this game lets you spend plenty of time playing it. I Love this game!!!

I use to play this game when the first EQOA was in beta, then I played up to when this was in beta. After Frontiers beta was over I stopped playing but I want to say how great this game was.

Gameplay: It is a great MMORPG for first time players and novice to RPGs. It takes some time getting use to the controls but very easy to learn. You will want to grind on low levels until you think you can make it out in the real, huge, world.

Story: The story is sometimes hard to understand but the adventure is fun. The quests sometimes are pointless but yet you want the item and exp.

Graphics: This is a PS2 game that came out in 2003 so don't except insane graphics but, and a HUGE but, the environment is HUGE, I mean it takes time to run from one place to the next. It can get tiresome but that just shows you how big this game actually is. I also like the time change.

Sound: The sound is not bad. Music is cool for when you start to attack but after awhile it does get old. FX is good though and should always be on.

Entertainment: You will enjoy this game even if you know nothing about Everquest. Playing with other players or even alone is fun, but it is defiantly more enjoyable with a party.

Replay: Moderate to high because after all this is an RPG and you want to level.

After playing for a couple days you will enjoy the game more and more. Not only do you get 15 classes to choice from but you also can learn trade skills and you get class mastery points for even more added individuality. This is a great game to pick up even if it is 5 years old.

This is still by far my favorite game. I played this game for almost 5 years. I now play World of Warcraft, but I find myself many times missing EQ. I found many good people to hang out with playing this game, one is now my very best friend. Where else can you find such great entertainment for this price and find a life-long friend in the process?!

Good game but.......

It would seem SOE has turned their back on this game.It is a good game,It needs a lot of updates, and definitely a NEW expansion!!Overall this game rocks, but customer service is horrible!Talk to anybody who plays this game, they love it,except for the way SOE treats us as customers.Be prepared for lots of xp grinding, which can get tedious after a while. But xp grinding is not unique to just this game. There is plenty to do on frontiers for a newbie...but beyond that it's past time for a new expansion.I think SOE needs to remember they do have other games and customers other than those on EQ2.I also play regular EQ,so i am a fan of the series,SO....I think the future of eq frontiers is uncertain, have you seen it on the shelves anywhere? That in itself speaks volumes. So let the buyer beware!GOOD game, bad support, uncertain future.

Better Than Original!

This game is very similar to the first "Everquest Online Adventures", but with new features, races, and classes, and places to roam, it proves to be better. Makes the first game look a bit shabby on the features side. I give it a 5 out of 5 when I beta tested it!

It's worth it

First, I have personally never had a problem with SOE customer service, they have always been very helpful when I needed to call them. Second the game itself: This game is not intended to be beaten or conquered in a day, you are paying a subscription fee monthly for a reason, hey it's business, they provide timeless content to explore, for example, there is over 450 square miles of digital content, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THE SAME MONSTER OVER AND OVER AGAIN, you can get out and adventure through different cities, lands, dungeons, even underwater caves and islands. You build your character to your specifications. There is tradeskills, where you can craft your own weapons, armor, clothing, jewelry. So as you can see, there is numerous things to do in this game. One of the great benefits of this game is the online community, you get into a guild and you will be enthralled for days, weeks, months and even years, but you know what, don't listen to us submitting these reviews, try it out for yourself, I think you'll see that it is worth the trial and you'll most likely want to extend it to a permanent subscription. Enjoy and Happy Hunting! I'm a 46 Shadowknight and I love it.
