Better Than Original!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 7 / 14
Date: October 02, 2003

This game is very similar to the first "Everquest Online Adventures", but with new features, races, and classes, and places to roam, it proves to be better. Makes the first game look a bit shabby on the features side. I give it a 5 out of 5 when I beta tested it!

Exceptional Game from an Exeptional Company!!!

This game is due to be released on November 17th, not the 20th. At least that's what EB-World.com has the date as, and they are pretty reliable, when it comes to release dates...

Anyhow -- this game looks great! If anything, it will tremendously enhance Everquest Online Adventures, with new character models, the new Ogre race, and the new class of Alchemist.

Many new zones will be added as well, so the game space for EQ Online Adventures will be huge!!

Another great addition for Frontiers, will be the addition of 5 more spell slots. This is greatly needed, and I am very much looking forward to storing 10 spells, instead of 5...

Keep up the good work Sony Online Entertainment. Everquest 2 is going to absolutely ROCK for the PC, and it's due out in March. Until then, I suggest playing EQ Online Adventures, and grab the Frontiers Expansion.

EQ is CLEARLY the best MMORPG in the world, and it will just keep getting better and better...

hard to get a hold of this game!

Fun game, shady customer support

I cannot believe that someone would give this 5 stars prior to the game being released. Potential customers beware of that fact. He may have been in Beta, but so was I. I would rate this game as a 3 or 4 if it wasn't for the shady customer service. I had prepaid for this service, so I was stuck for six months. Through that time, they had a rampant error, called Error 6. SOE blamed it on the internet and America Online. The funny thing about Error 6 was that it didn't only affect AOL users, it affected broadband users just the same. Ironically, the day Frontiers was released Error 6 disappeared. You decide if that was due to AOL at that point. Now they have a new error, one where it loses your information but won't allow you to re-enter it. As for the gameplay itself, they should call this game Evergrind. The quests are far and Few. Rather, most of your time is spent hacking the very same monster, over and over again to gain levels. Frontiers added 10 new experience levels and a new Epic at level 59. Now to do the Epic, you need to have completed all your level 50 quests. Now here is the kicker, according to Mr. Alex von Minden, the Community Relations Manager, he said that the higher level quests are intended to the hard core gamers. Now this doesn't sound like too much of a problem. That is until you find out that the hard core gamers represent maybe 1% of the community. Nice to pay $30.00 more for content that isn't intended for the general population to use. Don't believe me, ask them while you have the ability to play for free for 30 days.

It's worth it

First, I have personally never had a problem with SOE customer service, they have always been very helpful when I needed to call them. Second the game itself: This game is not intended to be beaten or conquered in a day, you are paying a subscription fee monthly for a reason, hey it's business, they provide timeless content to explore, for example, there is over 450 square miles of digital content, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THE SAME MONSTER OVER AND OVER AGAIN, you can get out and adventure through different cities, lands, dungeons, even underwater caves and islands. You build your character to your specifications. There is tradeskills, where you can craft your own weapons, armor, clothing, jewelry. So as you can see, there is numerous things to do in this game. One of the great benefits of this game is the online community, you get into a guild and you will be enthralled for days, weeks, months and even years, but you know what, don't listen to us submitting these reviews, try it out for yourself, I think you'll see that it is worth the trial and you'll most likely want to extend it to a permanent subscription. Enjoy and Happy Hunting! I'm a 46 Shadowknight and I love it.

Good PS2 Game

Some people say that this game should only be for the PC, but this is the kind of game the PS2 needs. This game is fun, and very addicting. I can play it for hours into the night. Basically, this is a very fun game and it sure doesn't end quick. That's one of the great things about it, unlike regular games that you can beat in 1 or 2 days, this game lets you spend plenty of time playing it. I Love this game!!!

I LOVE CHANGES!!!!....

I have played alot of RPG's in the past. Typically after the putting about 40 hours of playing most traditional RPG's (and still not beating them) I get bored and move on because most RPG's are soooo much of the same thing over and over again.

EQOA: Frontiers is the most addicting RPG I have ever played!!!! There are tons of places to visit in the giant world and different things to do in each town. This game allows you to have a completely unique game playing experience and is an ever changing world. I got sooo sick of traditional RPG's because they are the same no matter who plays them or how many times you play them. In this game if you wanna try something different just start a new character of a different race or of a different class. I guarantee you it will be a completely different experience then the last time.

The best part about this game is that it is a massive multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG) and it is on a CONSOLE. I don't play computer MMORPG's because pretty much every expansion requires you to buy a new computer to keep up with the drivers, graphics, sound, etc.

Additionally, the game developers update this game often adding enhancements to the game all the time. Giving you changes and improving your gameplay.

So if you are bored with "more of the same" RPG's then try this out. FRONTIERS made a huge step forward on the original as far as graphics and ease of playing. The Developers are adding a new group search engine to help you find groups easier.

In final, I have alot of experience playing this game. I have a level 41 Elf Paladin on the Castle Lightwolf Server and several other characters. You can find TONS of information on-line as far as quests and classes. Try this game out. if you do and need any help get on the Castle Lightwolf server and just look me up.
My characters name is Tobiaslee.

BEWARE!

there are alot of people playing this and some are mean some are and others take this way too seriously if. some kids will skip school to play. also dont be in rush to beat this cause it takes at leats 6 MO's to get 1 char to lvl 60 and thats if you work, sleep, play and have no life. it is cool to meet people though and all ages play the company tries to edit out bad words from being said but there are ways around it.

Not bad at all.

If you'd like to start playing Everquest but have never touched it before, this is a good title to start with.

The graphics are top notch, there's enough servers (worlds) to explore and monsters to kill.

The one small problem I found with the game (That should *NOT* deter you from checking out this title) is the lack of abilities at the lower levels. Here, you are expected to follow a linear path of doing tasks for trainers. I'd rather be out killing monsters, but in order for you to get to this stage, you have a few hours of boring tasks to do.

Other than that, it was well worth the purchase and I can't go a few days without playing.
