This game is fantastic way to spend a couple weeks indoors. Get a couple pizzas in the fridge, you might as well shut off the water to your shower, unplug the phone, and have a ball. It is obviously different than the PC version, but it's the only thing like it on a console. Remember not to take it too seriously, many feel great anger when their character dies, but the experience debt system takes away most of the pain of death. Think of your first character as a learning experience, and don't be afraid to ask for help, more people are friendly than you'd imagine.
This game means more to me than most people. My brother and I are very close, and he recently joined the army. We are now on different coasts and haven't seen each other in nearly a year. With this game we can play game together just like the old days, only thousands of miles away. If you have friends far away with this game, you can continue enjoying time together. Or maybe you'll make new friends. People have been known to marry after meeting in the PC version.
AWSOME GAME!

This is an awsome game. The point is to start your own group of people and help eachother out on quests. You can choose your own name, sex, race, and skill. You can choose the race of barbarian, elf, dark elf, human, eritude, gnome, half ling, and more. The skills (Not the correct word) is what you are. Like a warrior, magician, Necromancer, etc. You gain levels after completing quests, and killing monsters. Monsters can be found outside of the city where you come from. You have to highlight it by pressing L1, then press X to attack. Each monster is highlited in a different color. White is as strong as you. Purple and blue is slightly weaker than you. Red and yellow are way stronger than you, so don't attack those or you will die, and green is way weaker than you so you don't get any xp(experiance) If you kill something, you can take their meat and sell it to merchants. My recomendation is...GET THIS GAME!
This is EQ?

I'm not going to much words into it, just here's the ratings i'd give:
Graphics: 2(graphics are probably worst i've seen on PS2, Tetris Worlds is even better)
Sound: 1 (Sound is almost non-existent, no music, and only certain sounds such as you dying)
Gameplay: 4(due to the quests)
Controls: 2(hope you have USB keyboard)
All in all I wouldnt suggest this game to anyone unless you are a hardcore EQ fan

E.O.A is a pretty fun game. it has so much deapth that it is almost impossible to do the same quest twice. Though the graphics just plain suck, and it is extreamly hard without a
USB keyboard, and its confusing as Hell when you start, RPG nerds will literally love this. But for me however, after you experiment with different races and classes. It gets kinda' boring. pick this up if you have a lot of free time, and love RPGs. But don't buy the network adaptor JUST for this game. Buy something like SOCCOM, or Twisted Metal Black: Online also.

I started out on the PC version of Everquest which is rather slow and has considerably...bad...graphics. The PS2 version was a wonderful change. It's relatively high speed, and the graphics are excellent, along with the gameplay. As for the $20 a month, it is a tad steep, but I believe that in the end, it's worth it...that is, if you have the time. Overall, this is an addictive, well-made game that is worth the money.
Online only but great

First off this game is Not like the PC version as it takes place some 500 years before the PC version. the graphics are good for a MMORPG and there is a wide viriety of characters to craete. There are plety of servers and for each servers, one can make up to seven charaters. there are Barbarians, Elves, Dark elves, Dwarves, trolls, Haflings, all which can be Enchanters, CLerics, Warriors, Shadow KNights and many many more combinations. with that many combinations there is definately something for new players and Veteran MMORPGs alike. this is an excellent game and i would recomend it to anyone that likes RPGs of all kind.
this game kicks butt.

I love this game its the best game i have for PS2.The reason i rated it 4 stars is because you have to pay.there are 4 servers to start from(towns)and each is special in a way.one of the best parts of the game is grouping(teaming up)because you can fight the hardest monsters and share exp.play with your friends too.buy weopons, armor, bows, ect. to make your character one of the best.
