Another game by Atari and Reflections Interactive. Driver: Parallel Lines is similar NOW to GTA games except it's not by Rockstar. The graphics were great. It sure really beats Driver, Driver 2 and, Driv3r. Set in the city of New York, USA. Not like in Driv3r you choose Miami, Nice or, Istanbul. It's an open storyline.
I played it with a friend and it's a cool game. We shot and shot many people until the cops arrived and shot TK. Good thing I have cheats than can make my character invincible Another Cheat I entered was for all cars. I think I entered it all.
Here's the list:
GUNBELT ... Infinite ammunition.
GUNRANGE ... Unlock all weapons.
ZOOMZOOM ... Infinite nitro.
ROLLBAR ... Cars are indestructable.
TOOLEDUP ... Upgrades cost nothing.
CARSHOW ... Unlocks all vehicles.
IRONMAN ... Player invulnerability.
KEYSTONE ... Police vehicles vulnerable.
Got it?
Don't need to thank me.

As was the case with the last Driver game, I don't know what game it is some of these reviewers, the pros in particular, are playing. This game makes GTA, which is of course the game it will be compared to, look like something on the Sega Genesis. Best car control, best graphics, best damage model, best cutscenes, best missions in the business. Not perfect, but close. Best game in the genre since Midway's classic Roadkill. Automatic must-buy for anyone who likes games of this type. Likely will be the best video game of 2006. Ignore the biased shills who say otherwise.

Driv3r was a terrible game but it seems Reflections has found its way back into greatness. You play as T.K.(The Kid) it might seem terrible to replace Tanner but trust me T.K. is better than Tanner. T.K. is a wheelman, after the first mission you'll start doing missions for a guy named "Slink" he has something to do with the plot twist which is kind of between the game. Many things have changed since Driv3r, all of New York is explorable. They took the focus away from the horrible out-the-car action in Driv3r but it has out-the-car action but it doesn't seem repetive. The game is more focused on in-the-car action which is great, also get shoot from inside the car, which can be hard but after a while you'll get the hang of it. The controls are great. The graphics are good. A great selection of cars and other vehicles, and you get to customize your vehicles, you get to even pimp your own school bus, what other game lets you do that! The story is awesome compared to the dumb story from Driv3r. This game is amazing, but not as good as GTA, which im not trying to compare the two games, but this game has truly made the Driver seires shine again.

I know many people have said Driver: Parallel Lines is just a GTA clone. I can't tell you whether or not that is true, because I have never played GTA. I'm just not interested in those games. What I can say is that I've been a fan of Driver since the first release on PS1, and Parallel Lines is now my favorite in the series. To me, Parallel Lines is such a natural evolution for these games to take. It has some awesome missions, many of which are reminiscent of the first game, plus it has an open city to explore. I've had this game for a couple months or so now, and I haven't yet finished, but I still play it off and on. I'm not saying it can't be finished much more quickly, but I'm just not in a hurry to complete it. I've been taking my time and enjoying everything it has to offer.
Overall, I say if you're a fan of the series, get Parallel Lines. Unfortunately, the game does have quite a bit of bad language, but if you're mature enough to overlook that, I think you will have a blast with this fantastic game.

In fact i must say i prefer driver 3. This does have its good points though as it has an improved shooting systems and the missions are cooler.
The driving physics are what ruined it for me because they seem more like GTA and as far as car physics go that isn't a good thing. Because it doesn't feel like there is any weight in the car and it is a real dissapointment.
The police AI is just as bad if not worse than the previous games as it is so simple to outrun them even if they have choppers after you.
This is a dual era game which means one half is in the 1970's and the second half of the game is placed in 2006 and this is an awesome feature.
I would not advise this game but the thing is if you like the driver games then you will like this one but all i got to say is i can't wait to see it on the PS3

I am very pleased with this game. My favorite Driver is of course the first one because it's a true classic and it has a smoke tire button!!! I hated Driver 2 and i was disappointed in DRIV3R although i did like it better than Driver 2. The Third Driver just felt incomplete like Reflections could've done more with it, but now Parallel Lines is just fantastic. Even though you dont have a smoke tire button you can still get some good tire. But i really think that this one is going to be a classic in about ten years, it reminds me of the first driver but better graphics. Great game. Buy it if you can!
This blows me away!!!!

I think the Driver Paralle Lines game For PS2 is the bomb compared to the two PS game predisessors Driver & Driver2 cuz it has elements of both Driver 2 (for going from one vehicle to another) and GTA Vice City (for the shooter part of the game) , I definately have to give this game high marks for game playablility re-playablility, graphics, & Soundtrack.
I picked up the Driver Paralle Lines Limited Edition(it includes, The Game w/bonus Map of the city on one side and the characters on the reverse side), a bonus materials disc & official soundtrack disc)and you get all of this for the low price of $19.99, but you'd think with all that comes with this game you would think you'd pay upwards of $39.99 or $49.99.
NOT A CHANCE!!

It's a huge improvement over driv3r 3.The game has more of a G.T.A. type feel, but the play is not as hard core or ethnic based. The cars are more realistic to drive plus the damage factor makes the game much more fun to play.

GameSpot are a bunch of punks who set standards too high!
First of all they rate overated games like GTA and Halo with 9`s-Halo:CE deserved a 9 but HALO 2 deserves 7.5!
GTA:San Andreas doesn`t deserve a 9 either those games deserve an 8.
IGN are a more honest buch-sometimes they rate games a n incy tinsy bit too high like Metal Gear Solid 3:Subsistence doesn`t deserve a 9.8 but more of a 9.4 its one of the BEST games on PS2-But its still ONLY an updated version of the hit Snake Eater.I am an MGS fan.
Though i agree with GS on their reviews on the Splinter Cell games(muwahahah) i think SC is a bit too realistic than fun.Metal Gear thrashes all the stealth series and thats coming from an owner of XBox AND PS2! Hitman then comes 2nd.(i give all the Hitman games 8 myself).
I herad that GS gets bribed into writing in 9`s from the developers themselves so they can sell the game-it weren`t the case with MGS3 though that game got an 8.7 from those GS punks while MGS2 got a 9.6(9.6. is alittle too genrous for that game i admit) MGS3 deserves a BIGGER score than any MGS game(until MGS4 and future games).
DRIV3R was quite krap but not enough for a 5.3-it deserves a 6.5 like what D:PL got.
I have all the GTA games,Driver games,Getaway games and even TrueCrime.
And in fairness of this D:PL deserves a 7.9 as it DID EVERYTGHING it promiced apart from WOWWW! you can actually customise your car-Right its a GTA clone right a way cos it can do that.
IGN has less fanboyism on their boards, more THOUGHTFUL reviews,No fanboy actually reviews(top review) games.
Far Cry:Instincts is a great XBox game that got a 9.2 thats fair enough but why does HALO 2 deserve a bigger score exactly?
Trust mags, trust IGN,trust teamxbox or whatever just DON`T trust GS.
they can take their fanboy 9 rating and shove it up their...
