This game simply fails to offer the richness of play of the GTA series. In Driver, the buildings are simply scenery to drive around; boxes painted with textures. Add to that some very dodgy vehicle handling and traffic that edges around dumbly at snail speeds, and you have a major problem suspending disbelief and getting into the game. I got bored with it about half way through and gave up.

It's a huge improvement over driv3r 3.The game has more of a G.T.A. type feel, but the play is not as hard core or ethnic based. The cars are more realistic to drive plus the damage factor makes the game much more fun to play.
This blows me away!!!!

I think the Driver Paralle Lines game For PS2 is the bomb compared to the two PS game predisessors Driver & Driver2 cuz it has elements of both Driver 2 (for going from one vehicle to another) and GTA Vice City (for the shooter part of the game) , I definately have to give this game high marks for game playablility re-playablility, graphics, & Soundtrack.
I picked up the Driver Paralle Lines Limited Edition(it includes, The Game w/bonus Map of the city on one side and the characters on the reverse side), a bonus materials disc & official soundtrack disc)and you get all of this for the low price of $19.99, but you'd think with all that comes with this game you would think you'd pay upwards of $39.99 or $49.99.
NOT A CHANCE!!

I am very pleased with this game. My favorite Driver is of course the first one because it's a true classic and it has a smoke tire button!!! I hated Driver 2 and i was disappointed in DRIV3R although i did like it better than Driver 2. The Third Driver just felt incomplete like Reflections could've done more with it, but now Parallel Lines is just fantastic. Even though you dont have a smoke tire button you can still get some good tire. But i really think that this one is going to be a classic in about ten years, it reminds me of the first driver but better graphics. Great game. Buy it if you can!

I know many people have said Driver: Parallel Lines is just a GTA clone. I can't tell you whether or not that is true, because I have never played GTA. I'm just not interested in those games. What I can say is that I've been a fan of Driver since the first release on PS1, and Parallel Lines is now my favorite in the series. To me, Parallel Lines is such a natural evolution for these games to take. It has some awesome missions, many of which are reminiscent of the first game, plus it has an open city to explore. I've had this game for a couple months or so now, and I haven't yet finished, but I still play it off and on. I'm not saying it can't be finished much more quickly, but I'm just not in a hurry to complete it. I've been taking my time and enjoying everything it has to offer.
Overall, I say if you're a fan of the series, get Parallel Lines. Unfortunately, the game does have quite a bit of bad language, but if you're mature enough to overlook that, I think you will have a blast with this fantastic game.
Not too shabby!

This game is pretty cool. The cars are cool, the missions are fun, the driving is fun, and the variety of cars and customization options is good as well. Car sounds are fairly good but not great yet. They should have allowed your character to jump and swim and they also should have included boats in the game. Driving missions are a blast but just cruising around in a boat is a nice break from the driving and lets you explore....but PL does not have this unlike D3 which does have it. but the graphics are better in PL though. D3 had that Miami Vice feel to it, but PL feels like it's original roots...pure driving fun. At least they have trucks and such in PL which is a plus. Free roam is now a part of the game and it allows you to roam freely until you choose and drive to your next mission. So you can tease cops all day between missions if you like. Get too much heat and they send copters and swat after you! lol If you are a Driver fan, then I recommend this game to you.
Too easy, too short...

This game is FAR too easy, and FAR too short.
The driving aspect is pretty good, with nice crash sequences.
The on-foot aspect totally sucks, the aiming aspect totally sucks, when the guys run, it looks gay...
But like I said, this game is far too easy and short, just when you think it's gonna get good, it's over.
I bought this game June 2nd, and here it is June 19th, and I've already beaten it, come on Atari, make it a challenge.
Bottom line, rent this game, don't buy it, save your money, I feel ripped off!
...San Andreas this is NOT!

In fact i must say i prefer driver 3. This does have its good points though as it has an improved shooting systems and the missions are cooler.
The driving physics are what ruined it for me because they seem more like GTA and as far as car physics go that isn't a good thing. Because it doesn't feel like there is any weight in the car and it is a real dissapointment.
The police AI is just as bad if not worse than the previous games as it is so simple to outrun them even if they have choppers after you.
This is a dual era game which means one half is in the 1970's and the second half of the game is placed in 2006 and this is an awesome feature.
I would not advise this game but the thing is if you like the driver games then you will like this one but all i got to say is i can't wait to see it on the PS3
amazin game

Driv3r was a terrible game but it seems Reflections has found its way back into greatness. You play as T.K.(The Kid) it might seem terrible to replace Tanner but trust me T.K. is better than Tanner. T.K. is a wheelman, after the first mission you'll start doing missions for a guy named "Slink" he has something to do with the plot twist which is kind of between the game. Many things have changed since Driv3r, all of New York is explorable. They took the focus away from the horrible out-the-car action in Driv3r but it has out-the-car action but it doesn't seem repetive. The game is more focused on in-the-car action which is great, also get shoot from inside the car, which can be hard but after a while you'll get the hang of it. The controls are great. The graphics are good. A great selection of cars and other vehicles, and you get to customize your vehicles, you get to even pimp your own school bus, what other game lets you do that! The story is awesome compared to the dumb story from Driv3r. This game is amazing, but not as good as GTA, which im not trying to compare the two games, but this game has truly made the Driver seires shine again.
