M.C. Kids is one of those classic Nintendo games that you will never grow tired of. And don't be put off because this is something to do with Ronald McDonald! Put any clown fetishes behind you and play this game.
STORY: Ronald McDonald is in trouble. The Hamburglar has stolen his magic bag of tricks, and now it's up to Mick and Mack to save the day! Traveling throughout McDonald Land collecting cards, solving puzzles, and throwing blocks at baddies, Mick and Mack face quite the challenge.
GAMEPLAY: Mick and Mack are very easily controlled, with the basic Marioish idea. Jump with A, pick up blocks with B, pressing the same to throw them, and crouch and press A for a higher jump. The levels allow you to go from beginning to end and back again, looking for all of the secrets scattered throughout. And trust me, there are plenty of secrets to be found, including the "zipper levels", an entire secret world, and of course, the ever-popular extra lives.
Before you can move on to the next world, you have to find a certain amount of little cards that are hidden throughout the levels of the world. Don't think it's too easy, many of the cards are in places that will make you want to tear every hair out of your head.
GRAPHICS: Being one of the later NES games (1991), M.C. Kids contains some great graphics, somewhat reminiscent of the great Super Mario Bros. 3. While the McDonald's characters are not depicted very well, they are at least recognizable.
OVERALL: This is a great NES game to own and play again and again. The best part of this title probably is the idea of there being a secret world, and all of the other secrets scattered throughout. Concepts not very common in the old games.
