I brought this out for ladies night and we danced non stop for hours and had a great time. I made a cd mix from Itunes and used that cd. It was great using music that everyone could enjoy.

This game is the best! I looked at all of the other dance games and this one is by FAR the best I've seen! The price was even better that I bought 2 of them. A must have dance game for the buck!!!!

I love this game because it helps me stay in shape. It is fun to dance to any song that you want to. It is a great way to lose weight while having fun! Everyone who likes DDR should get this game!

DDR is still alive

Having been a closet DDR fan for many years this game was definitely the end all of dance games. You no longer have to dance to weird jap-pop and eurotrash techno. Loading your own music CDs is easy and even though the game doesn't "officially" support MP3 cds they do work. The graphics aren't anything special, but being able to dance to anything and everything is pretty great. The game tends to create better dances to electronic music and up-beat pop.

A bit disappointing

This game was fun, but as some of the other reviewers have stated. I found the easy mode too easy and the hard mode too hard. There should probably be another difficulty setting in the middle.

Fun and great exercise

We love DDR. My 3 kids and I all play it all the time. We were wishing recently for some new songs to dance to, and I stumbled across Dance Factory. I am so glad I did. I will never buy another DDR game again. This game lets you insert any CD and it creates dance steps for you. It works very similar to DDR, but since you can use your own songs you will never get tired of it. There are a few flaws, the biggest one is that sometimes the background is too chaotic and distracts you from the arrows. Otherwise-its great. My kids are really into Blank Eyed Peas and the new Fergie CD right now. We just popped in the CD's and were able to dance to all their favorite songs. FUN!!! I can't believe it isn't getting more favorable reviews. Some of DDR songs are lame and unrecognizable to anyone but die hard DDR fans. With this game, you can dance to anything from Beatles to Bruce Springsteen.

Some observations from a non DDR fanatic

although I am not a DDR noobie(I have DDR EXTREME, DDR MAXX, AND FLOW) I am not a fanatical purist. some views from my self and my wife and kids

- usually the faster paced the song ,the the better the moves match.I had excellent results from reggae(bennie man) and especially booty music(luke/too live crew/69 boys)and some R&B (Jay-Z,missy elliot)
- the difficulty is skewed easy too easy / hard impossible. with some songs you have to go up in the difficulty to get it to match( it was out of sync on easy but right for normal.
- in creature multiplayer mode the accesories for the monsters you get can be color coded red, blue, or green. when you go up a rank, a color step pattern comes up. do it correctly and you you cand do things like temporarily stopping the other persons arrows(so they cant score) steal thier points (the points you make go to your opponent) or cut thier points in half. this to me is more like competeing against the other person than most DDR games. Yes it has it's flaws such as the menu system and stopping halfway through certain songs( ithink it has something to do if your cd skips sometimes) and I think this would have worked out better on x-box since you can save your actual music to the hard drive and use the custom soundtrack feature. but if you like dancing to your own music it's worth it. hopefully there will be a dance factory 2
or at the least DDR will get its head out of it's but and implement this in it's DDR Game. Why not make the music regional like they do with the movies. just a thought.

Fun Game

This game is a lot of fun if you have CDs that you want to make into songs. The only thing that bothers me is that everytime you load the game up it says you have no saved file so you can't keep the backgrounds and monsters that you purchase.

Don't have DDR? Then start dancing!

I get it, I get it. It has some confusing differences for veteran DDR players, and it doesn't work with all dance pads. But what about those of us who have only played DDR a couple of times at other people's houses? What about those of us who are just getting into this whole thing? What about those of us who are dying to do dances to weird songs no one would think of putting in a DDR game? If you fit into any or all of those categories, then direct yourself to the game and dance pad set right now, because you'll love this... perhaps more than DDR. (And if you fit into the last category... "Kiss Kiss" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs makes a surprisingly good dance routine.)
