Pros
-huge selection of songs
-best music selection of a ps2 ddr
-mission mode is insanely fun
-tons of extras
-online play
-play as many songs as you want to on normal game play
-visuals are a lot better.
Cons
-light mode way to easy (some songs seem to be rated 2 or 3 levels to high)
-mission mode may seem boring at first( if your really good then it could be a while tell it is a challenge)

Dance Dance Revolution

This is a game for all ages! It is also a great way to get teens to exercise without them realizing that is what they are doing. My 14 year old had an overweight friend that has lost 15lbs so far from this game.
I suggest different DVDs for different age ranges. I myself would enjoy the game, if I could handle the music selection better.

The main reason our family looks forward to fall is because there will be a new DDR game released. DDR Extreme 2 is somewhat of a disappointment. Yes, there are some new songs. But I am getting sick of so many of the same songs from previous games "re-mixed" for the new DDR games. People who play a lot of DDR are craving new songs to play. So why can't we get a version with ALL completely new songs? The other thing we hate: the work you have to go thru to even unlock all of the songs. Who cares about buying clothes & outfits for the dance characters?! We turn off the characters anyway - they're too annoying to leave on. I wish the game was the same format as the older DDR games like Max 2 & Extreme but with ALL NEW songs! I agree with one of the other reviewers - let us all vote for the music we want. This is not at all one of my most played DDR games. DDR Mom in Illinois

I love this game. I haven't played other DDR games before, so I'm not sure how it compares to others, but this one is great. Some of the songs I like a lot, and some I don't, but they're all a challenge and fun in some way. I like to use the Dance Master mode in which you have to unlock songs by doing well. I haven't made it all that far because I play the same levels over and over again because they're so fun. This game is great for people of all ages, and includes music for the young and old.

I Love this game. I went out and bought a playstation because of this game. It's a great way to work out without even knowing you are working out, it's that much fun. I have since bought other DDR games, but this one is the best. I've had it for about a year, and I'll never get tired of the game. Work out mode is a great way to keep track of your work outs and calories burned as well. Only one bad thing to say about it: IT'S ADDICTING!!!!

This game is fun to play and challenging. At first you start with the simple songs and then things get kicked up a notch. I've been playing this game for about two years now and along with proper dieting I've lost twenty pounds. I like a new challenge every day. It has gotten hard for me to unlock several levels. The mat which comes with the bundle pack will take a beating. Out all of the Dance Dance Revolution games available I believe this one is the best! The workout mode is very challenging and will make you break out in a serious sweat. This game is highly worth it if you want are a beginner when it comes to dieting. Use this game for serious aerobics instead of jumping right into weight lifting. 5 out of 5.

Fun for all ages, I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter but my 7 year old daughter and 15 and 14 year olds like it too! Even adults will have fun and it is also a great workout for something different.

Overall a good buy but takes a little while to get into.

Personally I enjoy the more techno orientated songs in DDR games so this game took me a while to get into. But once you get going the pure fun of DDR replaces any frustrations.

I wouldn't recommended this version for anyone new to DDR.

It may have a few decent steps and a couple improvements (you don't need to go back to the main menu after three songs in free play mode,) but the game has one near killer flaw- they changed the core gameplay from focusing on arcade style vs. play and free play to a more mission oriented "Dance Master" mode. The tedious mission gameplay, combined with the barrage of menus required to just get a new song might give the impression the software is an office spreadsheet rather than a dancing game. I rarely write reviews... but this game needs another disclaimer. "Warning- Game may cause extreme tedium"
