First off...DDR Extreme was the worst game I've ever played! Boring songs were everywhere! From start to finish, and "The Legend of Max" is toooooooo hard for anyone!

Fortunately, we now have DDR Extreme 2.

At first, I wasn't going to get it, due to the fact that it is the sequel to the worst DDR game in history. But it is actually very good. The graphics were awesome, the music selection was very fun to do, and i love the challenge.

Buy it, it's a much better game then Extreme!

The songs are just too good to be true. I heard most of the songs in the arcade version are on here. I really dont care about that, but songs like "Cartoon Heroes" and "Butterfly" make this game awesome! And that one song made entirely of that anime video. It was so cool.

Just buy it, because you wont regret it!

This Game is Great !

DDR is my favorite game, nowadays. It started out where I just played my nintendo 94 and GameCube all the time.. This all changed when I went to an arcade during summer vacation and saw this big metal thing that had arrows on it. My friend and I were both new to it, and we both sucked. Now almost all of my friends have been rambling on about this new game "DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION" As time went by, more and more of my friends had gotten DDR and I had ended up having to join in the game. The more I played it, the more experience I had gotten. I had played so many different types of DDR; the arcade type, DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, DDRULTRAMIX3...and now my favorite, DDREXTREME2! I can now play the song,'Butterfly' in the arcade and get an 'S'on it! I dont own DDREXTREME2, but I know lots about it, and that im saving up my allowance for it. So in conclusion....
If you wanna get of your rear ends, and get up and moving,{+losing weight at the same time} then i insist you buy DDREXTREME2!!!!

(P.S. I really like this version the best, but they got rid of some AWESOME arcade songs...such as; 'Dam Dariram', 'Do It All Night', 'Hogisim', and 'The Race'. So yeah, I bet others are upset because of this as well. But at least they kept 'Boom Boom Dollar', 'Butterfly', and 'Captain Jack.' It would still be alot better if they had the other songs back...

Great fun, and extremely addictive

Before I bought this game, I had no previous experience with DDR, even in the arcade. Hence, I can't tell you what a DDR veteran would think of it. But if you, like me, have never played DDR in your life, then this review is for you.

It's such a simple game, really. You have a mat with four arrows, and arrows scroll by on the screen. When the scrolling arrows meet the stationary arrows at the top of the screen, you step on the arrows on the mat, in time with the beat--although at later levels, you start stepping to the sound of the song as well, instead of just the beat.

Simple concept, yes. Good fun, yes. Amazingly addictive, yes. Sometimes frustrating enough to make you want to take your scissors to your dance mat, yes.

It's impossible to describe exactly what is so fun and so addictive about something as simple as stepping on arrows to a beat. You can only really understand after you've tried it--which I highly recommend you do, if you like music or games or music games. And hey, look on the bright side--it gets you exercise! How many video games can you say that of?

Friendly for beginners, challenging for veterans!

The newest entry in the DDR series for the PlayStation 2 is by far the largest and most challenging, yet is perhaps the most friendly of the games in regards to novice dancers.

A fully fleshed out Dance Master Mode allows players to fulfill various mission objectives, earning points in order to purchase new songs, character costumes, challenge courses, and more. The only drawback of the missions is that they are exceedingly easy to begin with, which make the game more approachable to the uninitiated, yet could be a turn-off for the more seasoned players. Once the first few missions are cleared, though, the game heats up considerably, providing a challenge for just about anyone.

Most importantly, however, is the song library. With over 70 infectiously rhythmic songs to dance the hours away to, including many new licensed songs, as well as some classic and new original tunes, every DDR player will meet their match (and a whole lot more) before he or she can claim victory over this masterpiece of a game.

Highest recommendations.

Video games, fun and, a workout are put together again. I would rather use the dance pads for the game Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 for PS2. DDRX2 is used for having a great time. The reason I picked DDRX2 is that I'm videogame player and I want to lose weight. Videogame players and people who are at least 4 or over and people who want to lose weight will enjoy this game.DDRX2 is fun, a videogame, active, it gets you more coordinated, and it helps you dance better. This game is a fun game in my opinion. DDRX2 is a financially good game to buy.

Immediately noticable is the time and effort put into the latest DDR title for PS2. New graphical interfaces, videos, and other options add to the game, making it more in depth and creative. It seems the new steps have been made more challenging/fun. I would definitely recommend this game to any DDR fan or someone just starting out, it is a definite improvement since the last release on PS2. Enjoy!

The Best Home Version - So far...

I have so far spent countless hours on the game since the purchase and I have loved every minute of it!

DDR Extreme 2 took on the best songs/aspects of the previous home games and combined them with the best songs off of the DDR Extreme Arcade game!

The challenge mode is fun, but like a previous reviewer said, if you are more advanced, it will take a little while before it becomes a challenge.

I recommend this version to anyone who loves playing DDR.

This is the best winter (or rainy day) video game you could ask for - even though my daughter is staring at the TV - she is getting a great workout and it's improving her dexterity and eye coordination. Certainly keeps the brain working.
