I always thought it would be a blast to go hunting. But I didn't want to go outside and freeze my nubs off. So I asked my wonderful beautiful wife to get me a hunting game for Christmas. Cabela's Dangerous Hunts delivers a lot of thrills. Your heart will almost leap out of your chest as a mountain lion or a leopard leaps out at you when you are least expecting it. Or you will rejoice when you take down a whitetail deer in the eastern lowlands of Wisconsin from 150 feet away with your semi-automatic rifle.
The game has three modes of play. The action mode just has animals leaping at you all the time, and you have to shoot them as fast as you can so that you can leap off to the next habitat. This mode gets old quickly.
The most realistic mode is career mode. This is where you start out with a bow and arrow and you purchase more hi tech weapons with the money you collect from each succeeding conquest. This is quite realistic, but I don't why you can't start with a rifle, and I still haven't mastered bow hunting yet.
For me, the best part of the game is the Quick Hunt mode. Like with the other modes, this comes in Easy, Medium and Hard difficulty levels. I like the easy level, because you can track the animals by following the red dot on your screen.
But it is more like real hunting to play the medium and harder levels where you do not have a red dot and have to rely on your eyes and ears and hunches to track deer. And just like with real hunting, you could conceivably spend hours and hours without catching a thing on the levels without the red dot.
But for me, this beats sitting out in the cold, although this way, I don't get to eat the meat. For those who want more arcade action from a hunting game, this is the one to get. But watch out for the lions and leopards and wolves and bears and rhinos.

5 stars for fun and scary moments!
The hunter has finally become the hunted, and the animals are out for payback. It's about time too.
Graphics: 4 out of 5 (although some areas in the game deserve a 5, like the forest ravine in Quebec or the plains in Tanzania).
Sounds: 3 out of 5 - animals sound good, environment sounds good, it's just a little repetative.
Gameplay: 5 out of 5
So much to do, so little time. Action Zone is very fast and furious, man vs beast. Career Mode gives the game an extra level - buy charters to hunt in specific areas, or complete challenges (like rescue a wounded hunter, or take down a Rhino with a bow!). Huge amounts of equipment and weapons, with different ammo for each weapon, and a huge range of scopes. I'll be playing this one for a while, that's for sure.
Its a lie that the game is bad-it actually rules!

A lot of reviewers are saying that the game sucks. WRONG. You don't need ak47s or m16s to hunt. HELLO???? Hunting does not include weapons from the police, S.W.A.T., or the army. Hunting is shotguns, rifles, knifes, and pistols not automatic weapons.
And other reviewers say this game is slow and the graphics are not good well yes they are not very good but thonk about it. How hard do you think it is to make something in a game have the greatest graphics in the world?¿?¿ You gotta think that making this game is hard. and with a lot of all that hard work its gonna take a while to load duh! This game is very realistic to what it is to hunt in real life. You don't run up to a bear and just kill it. And if you think the terrain is bad well that is what it is like in real life. Some sya the game is boring. well......... Instead of playing the same level over and over try quick hunt to differen't levels instead of doing the same darn thing! I say this game is very well made if you thought about it this game is really COOL and if you think that the game sucks think about what you're doing.
THE BEST HUNTING GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is far from the ordinary hunting game. You always have to be alert or a bear or somthing will do away with you. The most fun aspect of the game is the deep amount of variety. You can choose from plenty of weapons and equipment. The graphics are great, except the animals. The back says rated T for blood and violence, but I didn't see any at all. OK, maybe when that rhino bit the dust after I gave him a head shot with a .510. The point is, this is a must-buy.
VERY EXCITING!!

The title says it all, it's dangerous! When your in Africa and you hear rumbling in the bushes and out comes a big ferocious rhino charging at you while you look for the button to shoot it and you miss and then your being chased around in the sahara by a huge rhino then they got the title of this game just right. It's so excited and amazing that you just can't stop playing this game after a couple of hours. Everything is great about this game, you can hunt in a lot of places, you can also use a wide variety of weapons and accesories, such as a pice of meat to use as bait when hunting mountain lions. If you want an exciting hunting game than I suggest you purchase this game.
Pretty Sweet...

This games pretty fun I mean you get to pick from rifles, Bow and Arrows, Shotguns, Knifes. There are differents modes to this game such as Career Mode, Action Zone, & Quick Hunt. Action Zone is where animals come to you and you kill them, then you enter a green portal and move on to the next stage. That mode gets boring after a while. I like career mode because you can hunt for specific animals and kill them in any way you desire. In easy mode you follow the red dot to the animal but thats not really hunting. Medium and Hard Modes are hunting because you don't have a red dot and you rely on nature itself to find the animal & for extra help you can use lures too. One time it took me around 20 minutes just to find a moose because I used the moose call lure like 30 times and then I saw it from 100 feet away and I followed it and killed it with my Rifle. So if you want a nice solid hunting game thats fun buy this.
great hunting experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this game. It's nonstop fun. There are like 26 animals to hunt for including different types of bears, mountain lions, rhinos, moose, deer, wolfes, hyenas, caribou an many others. Whats fun about it is that you can get attacked in this game.
If your hunting for a certain animal you have to watch your back because a mountain lion, wolf, or hyena (depends on the place which type of animal will come after you) might attack you. You can get attacked almost by any animal if you get to close to it.
There ar plenty of guns and bows to pick from. It even has an attack mode where it shows yourself from the animals eye if the animal comes after you. It shows where you shot the animal to. Some animals are tough to kill. I shot a cape buffalo with six bullets from a shotgun right in the head and it didn't die.
There are 47 missions which of the first 15 are pretty easy to beat. It changes season though so don't be afraid if there are different levels every time you beat or lose a level. It changes the season after you go on to the next season.
If you buy it for computer its only $20 but for playstation 2 it $30 dollars so I would just buy it for computer.
WOW!?!

I think Activision really went far out here. This game is awsome because all of the exicting action every second. The rifles are better than shotguns or bows because the rifle is more powerful. My Favorite game to hunt is Kodiak Bear because I got $1139 for one once. This game is all out and is a must buy! I give it 5 because it's too good of a game. Good Luck!
