OK but I found it hard.

I think this was a bit hard. The training was fun but the campaigns were just to hard. I can't even get past the first mission. But the training brought my rating up some. All in all I wouldn't get it if you don't have it.

IF YOU ARE NOT A MECHWARRIOR FAN:
There is a very steep learning curve that will take a long time to get used to. The system is very complex, often requiring you to press four or five buttons simultaneously while moving and firing, but after a lot of practice you'll find that this is a very fast, very intense, very demanding game that is ultimately rewarding when you become a skilled pilot.
Compared to other games, this is like piloting a jet fighter on legs: some 'Mechs can travel at 120 KPH, some at 65 KPH, all with an arsenal containing at least 4 different weapons. The lightest uses about 5 weapons, the heaviest about 20. Here's what to expect during typical gameplay:
1. Startup, scan, determine enemies, check objectives, plot course, increase throttle
2. Travel, radar scan
3. Travel, radar scan, encounter enemy, review objectives, increase throttle, twist torso;
a. Fire
b. Check heat
c. Check ammo
d. Fire
e. Line up with enemy, decrease/increase throttle
a. Repeat

All this must be done simultaneously, so yes, it is very intimidating at first. Also, since the game is so old, there is no hope of finding an online game as the server is shut down and everyone is playing Mechwarrior 4 instead. Sorry! Basically, this is a great game to put on the old home computer: about 100 MB large, very low system requirements, but a whole lot of fun that you will get a lot of usage out of. Definitely a great buy, no matter how old.

IF YOU ARE A MECHWARRIOR FAN:
Obviously, if you've played enough Mechwarrior games, you know that the developers are obsessed with the Inner Sphere. Well, Inner Sphere scum no more, freebirth! Mechwarrior 2 was the classic that started it all, and there's nothing more entertaining than hours of drag-out, drop-down classic Mech brawling in Clan mechs like the Madcat, Thor, Daishi, Warhawk, and long-lost designs including the Spider, Warhammer, Marauder, Rifleman, Firemoth, and the beloved 2 L-Pulse, 2 M-Pulse, 2 LRM20 Vulture. Whether you want to return to your Clan roots or relive the days of the Marauder, this is definitely worth buying at a price of less than $10. Buy it. Now.
