With so few games available for the PS3 I felt I had no choice but to buy it. I was pleasantly surprised as the game unfolded and the story line progressed. The graphics are amazing and the creatures are fierce. Overall the AI seemed smart and unpredictable. It's one of the few games I followed thru to the end.
Great game and I'm not a FPS fan.

I'm sure like a lot of people this was one of the first games I bought for my PS3. I'm not a fan of first person shooters. I prefer 3rd person action games like Jedi Outcast for the pc. But FP shooters seem to be the only thing being made these days so I gave in and gave this a try.
I'm sure everything's been said already about this game as far as graphics go so I'll just agree that they're awesome. Game play is smooth also. Frame rate is superb, no slow down. I'm only about half way through my first time through the game and it's very addictive. Lots of weapons and enemies to unload them on. I'll agree with one reviewer that some of the enemies will creep you out. For me it's those Grey Jacks and the Leapers (think face huggers from Aliens), ugh I hate those things. There may be worse in store for me but for now they can't die fast enough.
I read an article that there will be a Resistance 2. In the off chance the developers read these reviews I'll list my only gripe which is more blood and guts. I want heads and limbs blown off with "Kill Bill" style blood squirts. If I run up on an enemy and give him both barrels of a shotgun I want the beast to do more than just keel over, I want a huge sucking chest wound with entrails everywhere. OK I'll pull my horns back in now but I know I'm not the only video game gore hound out there.
Even without the extreme gore the game is still lots of fun and I've already started replaying certain favorite levels. This game is definitely a must have. Remember developers.... pour on the blood in RFOM 2.
one of the best ps3 games

graphically, the game is awesome but only in certain portions of the game. say for instance when you're going through where they make chimera out of humans. but that's really all about time spent by the graphics guys to put the effort into creating detailed levels. game play, storyline, how the game keeps wanting to play are excellent. best 1st person shooter for ps3 so far.

It's a WOW game, excellent for those who love the strategy game, the two players offline game, is great, because it lets you go on with the mission, and plan some strategies with your partner. the online game is great too, the realism is awesome. I recommend it 100%
Replay Value = 5 stars.

I've played this game through the campaign alone 3 times and it hasn't gotten old. Online play is a huge bonus with unlockable character goodies and a unique ranking system.
Multiplayer and Co-op make it extra fun as the levels transform into unique territory.
Highly reccomended!

I've played nearly every major FPS game over the last 20 years and I thought I could no longer be amazed, but this game has done it. It's nearly perfect on every level - graphically, gameplay, sound and storyline. It's positively scary at times (I didn't think I could be frightened by a game any more) and deeply engrossing. Plus you get free online multiplayer for your ps3. The weapons are great, and you even get new, secret weapons on your second time through the game as a reward for completion. And when you crank up the settings the enemies hide in new spots that were empty the prior time through.
A must.

The first killer app for PS3 and must buy for fans of the genre, great graphics, challenging, lots of unlockable weapons every time you finish the game add to it's replay value, the online games with up to 40 gamers are incredibly fun and the network's matching system is great. A must.
Great game!

The best part of this game is that its controls are natural. I will play any game, even if it is rated poorly by gaming fanatics in some magazine, if the controls feel natural. In this game, without cumbersome adjustement and compromise, I can shoot and move easily without having to process what button to press and so forth. It's just natural. As for the game. It's great. Just don't be an idiot like me and start on the hard setting. Oops.

I'm an old school fps fan, and i've rarely finished the offline portion of a fps. However, I've finished the single player mode of resistance twice.
The online is a lot of fun, and there is new content being released this month. I highly reccommend this game!
