This game is a bit more advanced then the Barney one, but still fun and educational. Probably not very educational to someone like you or me, but for your young one it would be. I'd say the age range would be 5 and older. It is a fun game no matter what age, just less and less challenging as the age range goes up.
Lots of variety - never gets boring

My 4 1/2 year old son picked this out in the store himself last fall - he loves Richard Scarry books and this was his first computer game. There was one minor glitch in running the gas station; however, a call to the very competent tech support center fixed the problem. I still am unable to properly run the Jukebox aspect - have been told my PC needs a sound card upgrade, which is downloadable. The music accompanying the games are for the most part non-annoying "elevator music". I highly recommend it for ages 3 up!
My 3 year old loves this game
