Disney has just taken the Coaster world to a new level with this amazing product. Learn the basics of Ultimate Ride's coaster contruction, as you bulild your way through missions, or create your dream coaster from the ground up! The interface is so brilliant, even children will quickly put together satisfying creations, while adults (and die hard coaster fans) will be surprised how sophisticated their coasters can become. With 3 track types, an superb editor, animated props, realistic sound, multiple landscapes, and MP3 music support, the possiblities are endless. Model your coasters for realism, or go out of control with a coaster that can only exist in fantasy world. Once Ultimate Ride pulls you in, you'll wish there were 48 hours in a day!

As mentioned by a previous reviewer, Disney's first foray into a coaster sim was excellent. Well, they've far outdone themselves with this program! The interface is great, it's very easy to use, and it's great to add your own music to your coasters (something Disney Imagineering has started with their real life coasters is adding a soundtrack, such as at Space Mt in Disneyland, and California Screamin' at Disney's Califronia Adventure). I would like to see a couple more settings come out, but this is a great game - got it as soon as it went gold, and have not had a single crash yet on this P3 550 with 256 megs ram and a Geforce 2 video card. This is a quality coaster sim, and beats the pants off SimCoaster and roller Coaster Tycoon for this type of ride. I won both of those, and this Disney product is my favorite. What puts it over the top for me? GETTING TO RIDE MY COASTER and not having the limitations of the coaster that Sim Coaster has. I highly recommend this game! Buy it now! You'll love it!

I usually don't come back and write reviews for games, but I've been having so much fun with this game it is worth the effort.
This game is about building and riding rollercoasters. period. Disney must have spent a lot of time on coaster building because it's so easy to jump in and build a cool coaster.
There are two ways to play: free-form roller coaster building and a bunch of puzzle-oriented missions to solve. I prefer the free-form building, but my friend likes the missions (to each his own...).
The graphics are top notch and you can play your own MP3s while you ride your coaster! I've just started downloading some of the coasters on the game's web site. There are *thousands* of coasters to ride. Staggering. Some people have built some insane coasters.
Overall, highly recommended!

Have you ever been to Disney Quest? Well if you have, this game is exactly like the Cyber Spacemountain ride! It is fun, and exciting, and best of all, there is no financial limits! You don't have to by track pieces, or keep things real. Your rollercoaster can be the most dangerous ride in th world with no restrictions. Plus you can ride your ride when your done, and view it from all angles. The graphics are the best quality and there is so much fun stuff you can do with it. You just design and build, as well as set missions. A definite five stars.
Great game, but get Disney Edition-the latest incarnation

A couple points to make: 1) Get the latest version of the game, the Disney Edition. Otherwise, you may run into older bugs that will never be fixed. 2) Yes, this is an awesome coaster building game, but there is another available you MUST own if you're a coaster enthusiast or builder---No Limits Coaster Sim, only available via purchase from its web site. It's the best coaster sim available. 3) If you're serious about coasters and want the best, get Ultimate Ride and No Limits and you'll have the two best on the market. Just keep in mind that you will save money in the long run if you get the Disney Edition. I own the Coaster Deluxe version, which is great--but it has a couple of MP3 bugs that degrade its value slightly; some MP3's won't play correctly, no music play during coaster test mode/you can't tune your coaster to music. The Disney Edition corrects these flaws. They are all the same game with slight differences: Ultimate Ride = first incarnation, Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe = second incarnation/more goodies, Disney Edition = taylored for Disney, same great game with none of the bugs found in previous versions. In closing, you should buy the game NOW while it's still available. Don't forget to check out No Limits Coaster Sim, you will be extremely pleased with its dedication to realism.
Very Impressive!

I must say, I'm rather impressed with the interface for creating coasters. In a matter of minutes, you can start to create complex track layouts that include loops and corkscrews. The amount of control you have over the track construction is amazing. Banking and stretching track sections is very easy and intuitive (something that other coaster creation programs have not achieved in my opinion). The animated props offer another dimension to the game's depth and the different lands you can select are great. The "Imagineer" missions do a great job in teaching how to create realistic coasters and use the features of the game. They actually become quite challenging when you reach the later ones. I also like the ability to pick your own MP3 music files so it plays when you ride your creation.
There are a few minor problems: you cannot create a true vertical piece and you don't have half loops. Also, when riding the coaster, you tend to get a sense of "emptiness" since your coaster does not have any riders. However, these are all VERY nitpick issues. The depth of the game more than makes up for the problems.
All in all, this is a phenomenal game. Ultimate Ride has been taking away all of my free time. The other games I purchased have been sitting on the shelf and will most likely stay there for a while. This one is HIGHLY recommended.

Disney has done it again. Their first coaster program was excellent for it's time. Ultimate Ride shows they haven't lost their ability to build a great program for Coaster fans. The interface is simple enough for everyone. Graphics are excellent. The only down side is something that Disney will probably be correcting - there needs to be more settings for the coasters. Even with this slight limitation the game is worth the cost. Must say that I paid more than what Amazon is charging. Once you start building you will find it hard to get yourself away from your PC.

If you've ever been to a theme park and thought to yourself, "I could design a better coaster than that!" now's your chance. Less of a game and more of a toy, Ultimate Ride allows you to design your own coaster (steel, wooden or suspended), and ride it -- in 3D!
The graphics are excellent, and the frame rates are good (even in high resolution), but there aren't enough objects and backdrops to play around with, which does seem rather limiting. Also, being a Disney Imagineering game, you'd expect (or rather, wish) they'd included some of the coasters from the Disney parks. They haven't. Hopefully we'll see some downloadable add-on packs in the future.
The included sounds are bearable, but fortunately the programmers have included the ability to import your own MP3s. You won't imagine how strange it is to ride a coaster to the theme of 'The Littlest Hobo'!
Gameplay is good, and the menus are easy to understand, though building the coaster can be a little difficult as you can't delete a section without removing all the sections after it. It's also easy to find yourself rebuilding half the coaster again because the track doesn't quite match up at the other end. 'Ride' mode is great and allows to you ride you creations from diffent seats, or from other camera angles. One niggle is that the g-force ratings seem a little high all the time -- 10Gs on a coaster? Purlease!
In summary, Ultimate Ride is a fun toy for the Rollercoaster enthusiast. Not really a game, or statistically accurate, but a fun creative pastime!

This Game is one of the best Roller coaster games I have ever played.I never thought Disney would come out with a coaster game that is really good. It's fun because you can do fantasy coaster or a real one. I also like how you can place objects near the tracks so it looks like you might hit it. Also how you can turn the track upside down for the whole ride( At least I think). When it comes out I going to get it.
