Greatest TV Game Ever!

This is the best TV-game-show PC game there is!It is generally faithful to the TV show, although there are 7 players rather than 8 (or 6 on syndicated Link), and the multiple-choice format is not used on TV (on TV, a contestant will be asked "What(first letter) is...?). Otherwise, the PC version plays pretty much the same as on TV. I also think there should be a way for one to play as himself, rather than as one of the characters. I would still consider the game to be excellent, though; especially if you love the TV show.
The game requires a fairly powerful computer with high quality video, more than most other TV-gameshow type PC games. If your system is not powerful enough, the game will tend to stop in the middle of play. It will work on high-end PC's, but a low or mid-level machine may not be sufficient.
BETTER THAN MILLIONAIRE

I bought Weakest Link after I was so disappointed with the Who wants to be a millionaire cdrom series when I first heard that The Weakest Link was going to be released in a cdrom I just had to have it. Weakest Link is my favorite show in the world next to Who wants to be a Millionaire and I had found the game a lot of fun to play. My favorite part is the beginning intro video that since I got it I've mouthed the entire intro a thousand times. I actually got to the finals but I was the weakest player and got voted off and so far no problems with it. Even my cousins liked it when I played the multiplayer version with them{By the way is a little confusing} My only suggestion would be a face maker like on the Hasbro Games so you can create your likeness. So don't delay buy this game,
Regis
{TIP} If you want an easy way to win and not get voted off. Play the junior mode}

THE WEAKEST LINK is an immensely fun gameshow on NBC. Activision takes it and turns it into a well-presented, educational, and fun computer game. If you enjoy trivia games, computer games, and competition this game is for you. Beware, Anne is there in full swing and full of insults and shes not afraid to dish it. So buy this game, sit back and enjoy the insults because YOU are the weakest link.
When playing this game, you must be one of the various players. This is not always fun because it doesn't allow you to be yourself when you play, but it's a small price to pay. As you play, it's important to be quick and answer lots of questions. If not, you will be voted off and take the Walk of Shame, not fun. This game allows you to increase your knowledge and compete for the prize money and it is well presented. I suggest you buy this great game today!

Wow, agree after having read all the other reviews. Being a fan of the TV show, I had to get this game. Definitely worth it, and plays well. My wife actually made it past 3 or 4 rounds against all computer players. If you want to make it to the final round, pick all humans, come in at the 4th or 5th round, and bank early and often. Especially after you read the question. Keep all your fingers on the right keys. With the upcoming demise of the TV show, and if you are a fan, run out and get this game [$]well spent.
Technical glitches; Once I cursored across the contestant selection, I couldn't back track. Anyone else have this problem?
My other suggestion is a face-maker like in the Hoyle games so you can be yourself. Otherwise fabulous.
Great game...very realistic

This game is very much like the show. I would highly advise, though, that you install the maximum on your computer. If you install the minimum and have it run off the CD-ROM, it really slows down the game (and is _really_ annoying).
The people are rather square (pixelated), but Anne is great and the questions are decent (it takes a bit to get the same question twice). It's also not a game that "lets" you win (get to the final round).
I would recommend this game to fans of the show.

Overall this game is very good in both the graphics field and the entertainment field. The only reason why I gave the game 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that Anne Robinson had only about 3 or 4 punchlines. Other than that the game is great.
Graphics: 94.5% (A)
Entertainment Value: 89.3% (B+)
Overall: 82.5% (B-)

When I first got this game, I didn't know if I'd like it. To tell the truth, I find the real TV show rather insulting! But I have to admit, I've gotten lots of hours of fun and entertainment from this. You have to leave your ego and seriousness at the door. At first, I didn't like the personality selections they give you (I usually play alone). They all seem a little screwy. But after I decided not to take myself seriously and started picking the various personalities, I had a ball! I even tried the teenagers and members of the opposite sex just for a little variation. I did get a bit of a surprise when I was down to the final 3 and (as the strongest link) got voted off! It really irked me when Anne came on and scolded me for not being too smart! Like I said, don't take yourself seriously with this game, or you might as well as play something else! I also like playing the different levels! This CD is lots of fun and you don't find yourself answering the same questions over and over. Lots of variations! Go for it and have fun, even if you end up the WEAKEST LINK -good bye!
Why not include an online multiplayer?

This game is very realistic:
1) If you think too long to answer, the other players will vote you off.
2) This happened to me during a tie-breaker: 3 players left; and everyone got 1 vote. Strongest Link had to decide who to vote off, and since I voted for them, they changed their voted and voted for me even though I wasn't the weakest, but because I voted for them. I was impressed.
3) If you think Ann is intimidating on TV, wait 'til you buy this game. Everytime you choose the "Single Player" she cracks how you don't have any friends to play with, or if you pick the "Bend the rules" option, she says "I guess you do need to cheat to win." 4) Unlike other trivia games, this one has 100,000 questions!!(So I heard) I played it and no repeats yet and even if you might see a repeat, you have to be a real rain-man to memorize all the answers.
However, this game needs online multiplayer! If it will in future editions, this should challenge other game like You DOn't Know Jack as the best trivia game of all times.
This game is the weakest link! Good Bye!

This game delivers a pretty weak attempt at bringing the game to the computer. While I realize that it is hard to record Anne saying loads and loads of phrases, they could have done better then the 5 they included. The contestants also say the same things as they talk to Anne about voting people off. For example "There is something about her that I just don't like". The her could refer to any female player in the game. As far as the trivia part is concerned, there are loads of questions. So I guess if you are more into the trivia aspect of the game as opposed to the voting off aspect you might enjoy the game. However there is no way to skip the voting people off section. I ended up returning my copy and have been happy without the game.
You ARE the Weakest Link... Goodbye!

Feisty Anne Robinson scolds and punishes us in this brilliant and fun remake of the successful Brit import game show "The Weakest Link". A wonderful recreation of the actual TV game show, we are forced to undergo everything actual contestants endure on the show; time pressured questions, stupid team mates, and a sultry school marm berating us all the way.
The voting is fun. I have yet to deduce any set patterns in voting from my fellow team mates. Truly, they surprise me regularly during the game, and I too have fallen under the wrath of being voted out of the game.
The questions challenging, and some are easy, and after regular play for about two weeks, I am not getting a blaze of repeated questions yet as it happens in some other games. you can adjust question difficulty, as well as the types of questions asked.
One glitch: I was disappointed that I had to choose a character to become, rather than being me, but you find someone like yourself and still go along for fun.
I highly recommend this game for any Weakest Link fans and those daring enough to undergo Anne's wicked glare.
