This is a wonderful hack-n-slash RPG. The are currently over 50,000 people still playing which ensures an amazing online experience. Though simple in concept, Diablo 2 has held my interest for well over three years. My advice: Buy this game.

Still one of the best games around.

This is still one of the best games made, and buying it in the Battle Chest make it one of the best values as well. You get Diablo II and it's expansion Lord of Destruction. With hours of enjoyment for a small price tag, this is a must buy!

Firstly, yes, this game works great with Vista. Read my note at the end.

Great gameplay, great graphics, great depth (even by today's standards). Free online play.

If you want a deep online RPG experience but don't want the complexity of WoW, this is your game.

Still great after all these years. An RPG classic.

hint: if you are running vista, right-click on the icon after you install the game, and emulate windows xp. Also, upgrade to Diablo version 1.11 ASAP (just log onto [...] from inside the game and it will update automatically). Then the game should work great.

Now go and buy this game and grab some treasure!

It's one of the best computer games ever. (Mac Problem.)

Diablo II is by far one of the greatest games ever made for the computer. Absolutely incredibly fun and entertaining. There is a problem with the battle chest load discs for the mac:
You cannot download Diablo 2 and then download Diablo 2:LOD as separate downloads, it will not recognize Lord of Destruction (LOD) as an installable disc with all macs running 10.4 or higher, the way to get around this is to download them all-together. However when you do that, you have to select the download without ever putting in the cinematic disc, in other words, the download that is 1.3 GB (it will say it's a full download of D2 and LOD, just without the movies.) As opposed to the 1.7 GB one which will contain the movies.
Also, you may need to run the game in a separate window for it to display properly. For some reason it was very distorted on my 23-Inch Imac, and when I pressed control + "M" it will run the game in a separate window and fixed the distortion. You can max the game to 800 x 600 after installation through the games graphics menu (which looks quite sharp in a separate, smaller window), however pre-installation it only says it gives you 600 x 400 as being available.
Anyway, I wish I had known that before trying and failing 3 different downloads, so I thought I'd pass it along.

This pack includes Diablo II, Diablo I and the add-on to Diablo II - Lord of Destruction. This is a top notch hack-n-slash style RPG. The graphics and sound are terrific and best of all, the game play is very intuitive - so that you really do not ever need to review the manual.

If you have enjoyed Blizzard's other titles, this will be a welcome addition to your collection, and a good value as well.

If this is the first time you look at this game, then you are definitely missing something out. Diablo II is simply the best game for its genre: hacking, slashing, and some magic displays. You get to choose as one of 5 very different but balanced characters (7 if you also install the expansion, LOD). From Barbarian with its brute strength to Sorceress with fire, ice, and lightning mastery. From Necromancer with his undead minions, Druid with his wolves and bear minion and natural magic including lycanthropy, to martial artist Assassin. Plus bow/javelin wielding Amazon and party leader Paladin.
Whether you are a fan of D&D (Forgotten Realm, Dragon Lance) or RPG (Final Fantasy), you will find this game very enjoyable. Watch for addiction! The randomized dungeons and customizable characters will render you vulnerable to long hours of game play just to see how effective a pure fire Sorceress compared to a multi-element one.

My personal opinion is I love this game, but there are several things you have to get over to enjoy this game
1. THIS IS NOT AN RPG regardless of what anyone tells you, this is an action game with rpg elements thrown in, but you'll be fighting swarms of enemys in a mindless, but fun, point and click battles. If your looking for a good rpg go for baldurs gate 2 or neverwinter nights.
2. The game is outdated, the graphics are awful by todays standards. So don't expect this to push the envelope graphically.

however if your going to buy diablo 2 this is the pack to buy, you get everything for a low price.

Though I am reviewing games that were made over 7 years ago, they are still amazing. I am actually reviewing 3 games total, which are Diablo, Diablo 2, and Diablo 2: Lord Of Destruction. When the first Diablo was released everyone was so happy many copies of the game were sold and it was a hallmark in gaming because it has brought so many ideas, though this game is a hallmark its "magic touch" has went away and it kind if rapidly gets boring, the thing that is best about it is the story and the characters you can interact with there are plenty of them, but my favorite part of the game is definetly the the many different types of monsters, for when it was made the monsters were amazing. Now the Diablo 2 review. When Diablo 2 was created in 1999 it was amazing and I am glad to say that it still has its "magic touch." It has an amazing selection of monsters to choose from. It has a good warriors to choose from. In the first Diablo when you got something like a magic weapon when you wear it wouldn't show anything except a normal weapon, but now in Diablo 2 you can see difference like the color or even the look. The graphics are even better then Diablo and amazing for its time. It is much more longer than Diablo, and has a great story behind. Somehow it kind of is violent, for example dead bodies of mutilated people and people exploding. This game has is amazing and will remain amazing. Now Diablo 2 LOD (Lord Of Destrucion.) This game isn't much different from Diablo 2, except for that you have 2 more character classes, a new part in the story, and a little more armor and stuff. WARNING: If you have beat Diablo 2 and you are thinking that you can use your file from Diablo 2 On LOD then you cannot do this. It is recommended that you just play LOD instead of normal Diablo 2, because of the extra content. I forgot to mention probably the best part of the game, Battle Net it works on all 3 games and it makes these game even more fun, it lets you play online sort of like a MMO like game and lets you play with friends and beat the game with them. These hallmarks in gaming are great and shouldn't be missed, if you don't have these games now, it is highly recommended that you buy the games.

This chest is complete with the Diablo 1 we know and love woth Diablo 2 and the Expansion. It includes a helpful strategy guide and is loads of fun. The different characters in Diablo 2 are great, and most of all I love the online multiplayer option(battle.net). You can play with all of your friends.

Diablo II is a very complex and fun game. with seven classes to chose from hundreds of skills to learn the possibilities are endless. three difficulties adds on to the long lasting hours this gameplay offers . On a scale from one to ten it is an unbeatable ten . people of all ages play this game , all over the world . What really makes this game worth while is Battlenet , where you play over the internet and interact with thousands of people . So many items to find , so many things to do , the possibilities are endless . Diablo II is a computer must have . I reccomend this game for people of all ages .
