I can't understand why these other reviewers actually like this game. Here is where you get screwed: You can not,I repeat,can not even replenish your strength. So,are you about to die? Will you die? YES!!!! If you fly away to replenish your 'life meter',nothing happens! You will still die! Unlike Spider-Man,there is nothing to even 'fly into' to replenish your life meter. Unlike the PS2 game,you can not even do a 'loop' while in flight. This game is soooo bad that you can't even 'pour on the speed' like you can in the PS2 game.
And there are NO cheats.
Whoo-hoo,what a great game. Not! Man,I really thought this would put the PS2 game to shame. I was wrong. Oh,and there isn't any type of save. If you don't make it through all the objectives in a level (the game calls it a 'mission'),you have to start the whole damn level over again! I mean,c'mon,this is the friggin X Box! They couldn't have thought of a way to save your progress within a level?
Just rent the game so you can say, "Yes,I've played it."

Okay, It has some cool graphics. Gameplay is horrible. It's hard to make Supes fight in the air unless you have the target lock on. It's also tough to put out fires in buldings because he's awkward to control when he's hovering in mid air. The hype for months on this game was that it would be like "Superman" - you can't even fly thru a building and leave a hole.... You can;t even punch a hole in the building either... I agree with the previous review, there are no health energizer icons... The only time you get health is when you kill all the enemies... The Xray vision is good for nothing- if you see something under the street- you can't be a human drill and get there. I do like the way he flies, it's kinda kool. Looks like this isn't the best Superman game...

Plays like superman needs to goto an AA meeting! Hard to control and try putting the 3 towers on the 3 roofs! Try Wolenstein or HALO!

The only plus side of this game is the graphics, the city looks great. But to no avail because there are no people who populate it. The only difference between this and the N64 game is that it's not a virtual world and it takes a little longer for you to realize the game (is less than par). The controls are horrible, the missions are way to tedious;the designers throw fifteen task at you at once and give you a 2 sec time limit to complete. That's supposed to be fun? This game was definetly rushed and its a shame we consumers have to suffer through it. Designers please take the time to do a game right, beta test it, fix the mistakes. We will wait for a great game over being sold (less than par goods)! I want my money back.

This game was bought as a present for my younger brother. He really enjoyed the game and is a big Superman fan. He had fun playing the game.

Man of Steel is a pretty fun game, it isn't easy. Besides the flying being hard to master, the gameplay itself can be difficult and notjust because robots are always shooting at you. It does have a nice variety of tasks to do in some of the missions. In one mission alone you have to; save a building from robots, put out a fire, rescue a man from a building, chase a car, defuse a bomb and that is just the start.
The graphics are definitely dated now, especially the FMV cut scenes. However, the in-game play doesn't look half bad. Overall, the game is fun, but once again not easy. Overall, I guess I'd recommend it, but mainly to Superman fans. Other people would just find it not worth the time and effort to play the game.
