It was a dark and stormy night...

The classic boardgame has now moved to the computer. With all the mystery and suspense you knew and loved. The 3D graphics used with the game are excellent. The game can be played either viewing as the classic boardgame (overview), or as a three dimensional mansion.

When a player makes a suggestion (e.g. Professor Plum with the knife in the library) the computer plays a simulated cut-scene of what that particular scenario might look like. With an added surround sound card and subwoofer these scenes are very suspenseful!

The game can also be played solo, pitting you against two to five computer run players.

This is a great classic game and highly recommended.

As Fun As The Original

This edition of Clue contains great grapics, cool jazz music (which they should have on while you play the game as well). The animation flows without any bugs and you can play different levels like easy, medium, hard. Not the best game available so wait until this one is on sale.

Family Game Night lives on!

As a fan of the Family Game Night board game, I was excited to see the CD-Rom version of CLUE! We installed it over our network at home and the game is great to play that way! You can play it solo, too - with the computer taking on two other `players' with a choice of three skill levels. All the elements are in place here for an entertaining evening with the family, friends (over the Net even!), or by yourself!

A word of warning: The suspected crime is reenacted as players guess whodunit each round. While the graphics are beautifully done, they are accompanied by spooky music, thunder and lightning which make the reenactments a bit startling and probably scary for little ones. There is no blood or gore involved by any means, just the `suspect' in the `room' using the `weapon' from the perspective/point of view of the player(you, not your game piece) as the victim. Perhaps I'm overacting in light of the abundance of video game violence out there for children already! The violence of this game is nothing compared to much of what I've seen in Nintendo/Sega/Play Station video games! All the same, I'll hold back one star in the name of Violence-Free entertainment.

A patch, which I recommend downloading, is available for the CD-Rom.

Fun To Play, Have never been able to complete

The game has never let me complete it. It freezes up and won't let me move accross the board. I have windows XP. Maybe the game isn't compatable.

I thoroughly enjoy mystery puzzle games and I got this game for Christmas a while ago. It's getting pretty old now and might not work as well on newer machines. I don't know. It worked on my Win2000 just fine. However, you do have to download the patches because there are a few bugs in it.

The puzzles themselves weren't too challenging. You are basically a detective and spend the game talking to people and collecting various items to find more clues to discover the identity of the murderer.

Parents should note that there are a number of deaths that occur during the game. While these deaths are not bloody or overly violent, they do show them happening on screen. There are several references to an Eqyptian "cult of the dead" as well artifacts relating to this cult. Also, there is a segment where the player is asked to spell names out on a Ouija Board.

Over all, this game is very enjoyable.

I played this game with a relative of mine and we both love the graphics, jazz music, and the '20-'30 design on the page. It's easy to load and take the time to read the instructions carefully otherwise you have to start the game again just when it's getting good. I'm purchasing the game myself so that we can play via internet. We are clue lovers since way back.

A spectacular Clue computer game finally made for the PC.

All Clue fans remember the debacle of the previous incarnation of Clue for the PC. This version more than makes up for the last version. Go to Hasbro Interactive's web site first to download a patch after installing this. The graphics are breathtaking, the music gets you in the mood immediately, giving the feel of an old-fashioned murder mystery movie (sometimes it almost feels like a movie too!) and never becomes annoying. Top-down view and angled view are two of many choices you have in customizing the game to your liking. Little mini-clips of your "suggestion" in action play as you make them, giving a small sense of "re-enactment" of the crime. Animated nuances such as wind-blown curtains, wind howling outside and clicking on various ornaments in the room make for some nice surprises. I don't get to play with my friends on the board game so playing on this CD version is a delight. Rich, full graphics, beautiful music, customizability and its strong adherence to Clue's game rules makes a fabulous game you'll want to play over and over.

I planned to give it to the Niece, but I keep playing it! When a character suggests a murder scenario, you see the dinner guest come after you with that weapon! You complete your 'scorecard' in colors so its a lot easier than the board game cards. If you dont have 3 people around, you play against novice or expert computer players. There's a slight delay after each player's move, but no more than kids around a coffee table. I cant stop Playing!

Clue and Computer=?

This game is just like the regular Clue! There is '50's music, and all the chacaters! In this computer Clue, there is really good grapfics, but also bugs in it! The grapfics makes it a lot more fun, but the bugs can stop the game, when you in the middle of the game!

In this Clue, every time you guess someone, they show a cippling of what it would look like, like if you said, "Col. Musterd in the Ballroom with the revoler, then they will show I creepy clipping of Cl. Musterd shooting bullets withe the revoler, and the backround is the Ballroom.

You can have BOTS be Novice, Skilled, or Expert. Bots are good, they are just like humans playing Clue. You can also play online at games.com! One more feature is you can change the map if it was just like the board game!

This game is good, but it wasn't as interactive as I'd hoped. It felt like an old Mac game adapted for the PC. It's still entertaining, but not one that would keep me coming back often.

One major gripe: It doesn't run on Windows XP and I couldn't find anything saying that it wasn't compatible! (It works fine on Win98)
