I am not one who writes a lot of bad reviews - I think I am fairly easy to please. I love playing computer games and I don't need fancy graphics to make me happy. I am also a HUGE Survivor fan, so of course someone bought me this game as a gift when it came out.
I played it for a few hours, and it was a complete waste of time. I can deal with the crappy graphics, but gameplay itself is just boring. You walk around camp and talk to people, but the conversations make absolutely no sense. The person will tell you they hate someone in one sentence, then the next sentence they will tell you you're crazy for wanting to vote that same person off. The computer AI also seems to automatically go for you during the votes, no matter what. I played probably 30 different times and each time if I didn't win immunity, I got voted off first or second.
The immunity challenges are somewhat fun, but there is very little variety so I got bored of them quickly. The voting is kind of fun, if you have immunity! Otherwise, be prepared for a quick "Game Over!"
I can see how making a game of the show would be difficult - the entire show is about human relationships which are hard to adequately present in a computer game. Anyways, this game is a waste of money. It's quite simply not FUN.

Well, after reading several reviews of this game before buying it, I was coming in with really low expectations. Unfortunately, I didn't set them low enough.
I won't even mention the unspeakable horror that is the survival period. The challenges are what really get me. How hard would it have been to lift real challenges out of the show? There are five types of challenges: fatigue meter management, space bar holding, mouse shooting gallery, repetitive trivia, and what I call "trust" challenges.
The fatigue meter challenges are by far the easiest and most boring. All you have to do is turn down your effort when your fatigue starts to get red, then turn it back up as soon as it gets green again. Some fatigue meter challenges can last for 20 minutes.
The space bar holding challenges usually involve throwing something, and you have to determine how much power you want to put in your throw. Once you figure out exactly how much power the game wants you to use, these are mind-numbingly easy. You memorize the trivia challenges really quickly. The "trust" challenges involve giving orders to a teammate. As long as you choose someone who likes you, these are also too easy.
The mouse shooting gallery challenges are really hard. No matter how well you do, the game will say that your competitors did better. I think what they do is wait and see what score you get, then add a couple of points to that and say that that's your opponent's score.
What I hate about the shooting challenges is that even if you're in team play, it's an individual event. The game tells you, "You'll represent your team for this challenge." The heck? When has one person ever represented the whole team on the show? The shooting game is definitely recycled from something else.
One last thing I'll mention: the create a character feature. I was hoping I'd be able to adjust body size and type and maybe add a scanned picture of my face for a personalized Survivor. But no. You just get 10 pre-designed character models that you can rename and adjust the stats for. Horrible.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I'm a rabid Survivor fan, and I'm just glad I kept the receipt.

This is the buggiest computer game I have ever used: nothing works. I loaded this program and have never been able to get it to work properly. It locks-up my computer everytime the game is played. I have had to download several other programs in an attempt to get Survivor working and to date nothing has done the trick. Approximately 8 hours of my time has been spent trying to get this program working for my nine year old son and it has been a miserable experience. In fact, writing this review to warn others of the pitfalls of this program has been my only satisfaction to date. I would not recommend this program to anyone. Don't buy it. I would have rated it with zero stars, but the star scale doesn't go that low.

"Survivor: The Interactive Game" is possibly the worst piece of programming ever created. The graphics are terrible, with extremely dull, bland textures. The repetitive, annoying, sounds in "Survivor" are so terrible that they will shatter your eardrums. The "gameplay"...there really isn't gameplay. You spend most of the time watching your character do badly animated things, and when you actually play a minigame, the control is so bad you probably won't realize you are actually playing. You can also do things like develop relationships through conversation with other "survivors." But ALL of these conversations include the computer giving you random responses and contradicting themselves every 2 seconds. The only positive of this game is a bug that makes it crash and send you to the desktop. Bottom line, if you are a masochist, then "Survivor: The 'Interactive Game'" is for you, otherwise, avoid it at all costs.

This game is a must have game! yea ok the graphics stink and somtimes it doesn't make sense but's it's still a great experience to play the game! The challenges are really fun but somtimes it does repeat them. At camp it's really fun because u get to go around and help make fire get food and make alliances. My favorite part is tribal council! ONce i was in the top five and won immunity so i was safe in that tribal council we voted out Rob! Then once i made it to the top four i had an alliance to vote off ethat but they went against me and voted me out! Remember this game is a must have.
Fun to play once (on a really good computer!)...

I played the game a few times, and my first game of Survivor was the best. The challenges were new to me, the interaction with the other players was neat, and the tribal councils were fun.
Even though I only started the game at the merge, the game itself was fun and I felt like I was surviving. The cool part of my first Survivor game experience was that I myself was in it and three of my friends were in it as well. You actually get to create yourself and your friends to be players in the game. The rest of the Survivors I remember being in that game were Kimmi, Sonja, Ramona, and Stacey. At the end of the game, Stacey took me to the final two and guess what? I won the game in a vote of 7-0!!! Yay!
Now, the game is not one to be played more than once. It is quite buggy, and the only thing that kept me wanting to continue playing was the will to win. The problem with the game is that it would crash, or the screen would get all blurry. The camplife in the game is somewhat pointless, because it seems that alliances are virtually nonexistent in the game. Like a few posters noted, someone would tell you that they hated someone and then they would go around and tell you that you're crazy for wanting that same person gone. There is no strategy at all.
Unless you hold immunity, be prepared to go home at any time. On my second game, I was Jeff from Survivor: Outback. I wasn't given ANY indication that anyone wanted to vote me off or even hated me. However, despite that, we were down to the final six and I went home by a vote of 3-1-1-1. To make matters worse, the game simply plays "Game Over" instead of letting you cast a vote for a winner. Just because I was voted off didn't mean that I didn't want to know who would win the season!
It's unfortunate that you have to mold your own strategy to that of the other castaways' "strategies" because they aren't changing their minds about whom they will vote for, no matter what. Also, it seems that there is one player in each game that constantly wins immunity each time. My friend Olivia was in the game and she kept winning and winning immunity. I think she won, like, the first three challenges. Somehow, she actually was voted out of the tribe in a 6-1 vote. It's a rare occasion in the game if someone is voted out in a unanimous vote like that.
Don't waste your money buying this game. Survivor: The Ultimate Edition is much better in terms of strategy, challenges, and just having fun. You'd like that one a lot better than this game. I certainly did.

I really am enjoying this game. The graphics are good and the way the game was desgined was awsome. Some people want to be a part of the real show, and now they can right at home. You get to play the role of one of the survivors or your own charecter. Some people think this game is easy, Nope you always have to remember, strategy is the key to this game. Another cool thing is the make a charecter option now you can design your own survivor. Not dissing the people who made this game but, I would put in a choice of where the game is being played like Puala tiga. I give this game a pat on the back(not to mention 5 stars)

I am utterly disgusted that this game was even put on the market. I have computer that was leased brand new in August and the game will absolutely not work. They have put out a patch that didn't fix the problem will "possibly" be out in the next week. I wouldn't even suggest buying it if and when a patch is completed. From what I have actually seen of the game it is absolutely boring and the challenges are way too easy.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SAVE YOUR CASH...BEING A COMPUTER PROGRAMMER BY DAY, AND SURVIVOR FAN BY NIGHT, I CAN ONLY SAY THAT THIS GAME IS HORRIBLE, AND HAS ONLY SOLD COPIES BY LEACHING OFF THE PHENOMENA THAT HAS BECOME SURVIVOR. SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A NICE DINNER OUT, YOU WILL ENJOY THE MEAL A LOT LONGER THAN YOU WILL ENJOY THIS GAME.

Well, basically -- I'm sure like everyone else, I just wanted a piece of this amazing game that has been put before us so nicely by CBS....unfortunately, I got what I think is a joke that the programmers who made this have pulled on us. Yes, that's right, this game is so torturous, I think that the programmers actually hate the show, so they came up with a game that makes you click your mouse 1,000 times a second (I KID YOU NOT) just to lose some poorly thought up "challenge". And the mind "challenges" are hilarious. Like everyone else, I agree that the voting process is random. This game is either A) A skeleton game for something much greater to come (hopefully.....I've played other games that are AMAZING by INFOGRAMES).........OR B) Like I said earlier, a programmers joke on us poor Survivor fans. I say just use your $15.00 and apply for the real show like I did :)
