Great add-on

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 7 / 7
Date: September 02, 2001

This add-on was easily one of the best ever. It had all the fun of the original, times two. The map editor is great and very open ended. The scripting allows anything from being defeated if a certain unit dies, to gaining victory upon killing a certain percentage of the enemy's troops. The new units are wonderful! The gameplay enhancements are helpful, but so much as to change the original interface. This add-on has no problems what so ever. Many ideas have been taken into consideration and put into the expansion. In my opinion this add-on is one of the best, if not THE best ever.

Excellent RTS!

Beautiful graphics, great action, high realism. If you like RTS games you have to try this one! It's set in WWII and you have at your disposal a large number of tanks, trucks, infantry, cannon and aircraft from either Russia, Germany or the Allies. There's a great mod available too, APRM, which you should definately get as well!

Great tool for simulations

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 9

Sudden Strike may be used to simulate real battles, especially those of the current Balkan wars.

Take for example the battle of Tetovo, a city in Macedonia attacked by Albanian seccesionists in March 2001. Lightly armed German units, equipped with mortars can quite realistically reperesent the Albanian terrorist militants of the UCK (KLA/NLA), who also used mortars to rain death on the inhabitants.

Allied units, especially American artillery, can be used to simulate the Macedonian defense forces.

A bonus coincidence: in World War II the ideological (and sometimes genetic) forefathers of the Albanian nationalists of today fought alongside Italian fascists and German nazis against the allies (which included Macedonian partisans). The final goal of the Albanian nazis, who also formed their own SS division "Skenderbeg" is to establish an ethnically cleansed Greater Albania, composed of Albania, Kosovo, Western Macedonia, Northern Greece and Eastern Montenegro.

Very nice!

I am a sudden strike fan. I used to play hours and hours the first version. This expansion is really good. But when playing single player missions, you find the computer has advantage on you most of the time.

this is quit definitely the coolest world war 2 game ever created- or atleast the best add-on to a world war 2 game ever created. um, if you don't have this already you definitely have either been wasting your time all along or you must have managed to find another-better game that I don't know about.

-if you have, post it or somehting.
