Battle for Naboo rocks

Truth is, this games packs solid, non-stop action that will leave you exhausted after battling droids, trade federation fighters, canons, tanks, and a dozen other types of enemies. If you liked Rogue Squadron, look no further for more Star Wars first-class shooter action.

Good, But Not Good Enough

Another game in the same spirit as Rogue Squadron and even aspects of Shadows of the Empire, it serves as a decent diversion, but it has the strongest "console-to-PC port" feel about it of the three.

The graphics are okay, but nothing special. PCs can do much niftier stuff than this title offers up. To their credit, some of the model textures are surprisingly detailed, but they tend to stick out as exceptions, and not the rule.

The music, while serviceable, isn't as good as it could be (sounds like MIDI, instead of streaming CD audio of some kind).

The sound is pretty standard Star Wars game fare, which is a good thing.

The controls tended to feel sluggish, and sometimes ponderous - you'll definitely want to play this one with an analog control stick and NOT a digital pad!

The draw distance in this game is also a problem. While likely better than its N64 counterpart, it's still not good enough. You'll likely see enemy blips on your radar LONG before you'll actually see them to fire at them. This oftentimes creates a last-minute scramble to hit the enemy in question, as you come up on it too fast and it pops into view suddenly. The same goes for any mission where you can control the altitude of your ship - the radar might show an enemy VERY close by, but if it's a ground unit, you'll fly yourself in circles trying to actually see it, unless you get quite low to the ground. This, I feel, is the game's biggest problem.

Unfortunately, this title feels like it was rushed. Its predecessor, Rogue Squadron, felt much more polished and rewarding. This one feels like it needed more time in the oven.

Surely a must-have for any completist, Star Wars gaming fan, but I'd recommend waiting for it to hit the bargain bin. And definitely check out the demo first.

Terrific!!!!

Battle for Naboo really brings you into the Star Wars world like Rouge Squadron did. The new vehicles, such as the Police Cruiser and Heavy STAP, are awesome. Of course, there is still the good old Naboo Starfighter.(The Police Cruiser being my favorite) This game is great. May the Force be with you! (Oh, wait. Don't go to the Dark Side on me, okay?)

One of the Best Games in the Galaxy!

Fight your way through 15+ pulse-pounding missions. Control Naboo Starfighters, Naboo Bombers, Police Cruisers, Flash Speeders, Gian Speeders, Swamp Speeders, Heavy STAP, AAT's, Trade Federation Gunboats, and the Infiltrator. As well as your main blasters, you can use Proton Torpedos, Cuncussion Missles, Heavy Lasers, Cluster Seeker Missles, and Energy Bombs. See awesome graphics in stunning environments as you soar in deep space, and fly over lush plains. Do you have what it takes to take on the Trade Federation? The fate of Naboo rests in your hands!

Star Wars: Battle for Naboo has been, so far, my favorite Star Wars flying game. I like the Naboo Starfighter because it is the fastest ship in this game and it has nice firepower. I also like the Infiltrator. Its not the fastest in flying, but it has one of the best laser cannons. Sometimes the levels can be hard, but if you keep at it you'll soon be able to accomplish it. Its a great game and definitely worth its price.

This game is DA Bomb!!!!!!!!

The graphics are simply good, not great, the Rogue Squadron, I prefer Rogue Squadron, this seems like rehash of it, with the medal awarding system and many other aspects. I hope for the people over at Lucasarts to create a game of the original trilogy, with today's graphics it would be great.

Excellent graphics and gameplay.

OK Graphics, Goofy controls - 2 1/2 stars

...I can forgive the passable graphics and the Minor League sound but the controls are just terrible. They are really sluggish and you wind up playing "Bumper Cars" on the ground based missions. The space missions are ridiculous; you cannot move in all directions easily and your ship flies like a space-tanker.

For example, I was flying a Naboo fighter and when I tried to pull a hard bank right the controls seem to respond: "Duh, you want to turn right, uh, okey-dokey, let me see - that's this way.." BANG! - I slam into a wall or the ground or get bounced off of one of the level's "boundaries".....

no fun

I really can't say anything good about this game. The controls are way too slow, and the models are painfully simple. I only got through 2 levels before deciding that this game was not worth my time.

CANT GET MY HUSBAND TO STOP PLAYING IT
