Best Aliens Versus Predator game yet

I'm Probably one of the biggest fans of the alien saga and predator saga. Ive played the the original avp and i got a kick out of it. This new Game is Awsome. It has very intense story line that fits together and the graphics are extremly good. This Game Blasts you into the movies

The single player game is of high quality. A four star game if it were sold alone.

The multiplayer game is a bit of a let down. You'd think a game built by Sierra (the same company that made Half Life) would do a better job. I'm running a P3 1gig, with 512 ram, a Radeon 8500 and cable modem. Still the game play is very choppy (even in a low ping server). Hopefully more updates will make the game play more fluid in the future.

Boring and buggy

This game was reviewed on a 1Gig Pentium III with ATI Rage 128 video and 256Meg memory - full installation on a Windows 2000 Pro OS.

This game has an interesting twist. I liked the fact that I can play three different characters with very different strengths and weaknesses. This was worth a star. Unfortunately, the execution does not live up to the concept.

I start by noting how buggy this game is. It aborted three times with error messages, froze once, and the color palette kept getting screwed up so that text became invisible or blurred and the alternative vision mode for the alien character became a black screen. I had to exit and reload the game to fix the last problem which takes quite a while.

This brings me to another issue. The time required to load the games was far too long, especially considering how short the segments are.

The game scores well in terms of playability and is right up there with Half-Life and is far better than Blade of Darkness. Characters move the way you expect and handle well. You don't walk through your opponent or jump off ledges while trying to edge up to them.

Some of the missions are quite boring, consisting of mazes with occasional bad guys. I liked the objective lists (like Quake II, but they need to be more detailed). For example, for half the Alien missions, the sole objective is to find the Hive. Not very useful.

I got stuck at a couple of places and couldn't figure out how to open doors. I was glad the cheats are easy to use so I could walk right through the doors in question. (Hit return then mpsixthsense)

Overall, it's probably worth the money but it doesn't capture your imagination like Half-Life does and doesn't have the visual richness of Blade of Darkness.

This game Is a real gaming experience!

This game is so brilliant, well sure it takes a long time to load it but it is worth it and also it does actually let at the beggining decide if you want it set to
Low=Low detail graphics extra fast+fluent gameplay and fast loading,
Medium=A balanced performance(what i chose),
High= The opposite of low

What was good.....
Lets start with marines: Fast tense exciting gameplay with guns and tools exploring evacuated power stations.... mines etc
Predators: Fast enjoyable challenging gameplay (My personal favourite) using a mixture of powerfull combat weapons and high tec guns used for fast assasin like kills
Aliens: Faat challenging enjoyable gameplay involving using your surroundings and natural abilities... You can wall walk and head bite.. at first these seemed like they would be realy complicated and hard to use but one is on toggle and the other switches itself on when it can be used and off when it cant making it very easy.

Multiplayer is brilliant as you can use any of the species and learn to use each species strengths against other species.
If i could only have one shootemup this would be it

What was bad: The load times where a bit to long but it was worth it so there isnt really anything bad about it

one of my friends was telling me about this game. I was going to buy this game so I did. I love this game. Keep it up.

An upgrade

This game is definitely an upgrade from the original Aliens vs Predator PC game. I'm not talking just graphics, game engine, sound, etc, I'm also talking plot, atmosphere, action. The game has cutscenes, dialogues that can be overheard, all these help contour the scenario. There's even a few interesting twists in the plot along the way.
This game is definitely worth buying.

The single player aspect of AvP2 is great and since everyone else who has written a review for this game spends a ton of time on it, Ill just skip to the multiplayer. If you have played half life or BF1942 or any other good fps online then you would know that there are some people out there who play multiplayer games and just get cheap kills. In the AvP2 multiplayer everyone just gets cheap kills. Both aliens and predators have 1 hit kill weapons, so expect to die a whole lot. Other than the multiplayer, this game is great!

This game is awesome. Its suitable for every age. I guarantee you will like this game if you like action games. I've only played it for 5 days and I love it. Its cheap too!

I don't know about the expansion pack , but it must be good because this one is good. The single player is exciting. Marine is pretty scary too. You can be an Alien,Marine,Cooperate,or a predator.

Best FPS Ever Made. Halo cannot compete!!

I would give this game 4.5 stars, but unfortunately, Amazon will not let me rate it as 4.5 stars. So, 4.5 rounds up to 5 stars. This game combined excellent graphics, sound effects, music, and control with a plot (well, 3 plots) that will blow your mind and incredibly balanced races. Once you beat the single player missions, online play is even better. True, you die about every 15 seconds, but its just so much fun. However, I would not reccomend online play for somebody without high speed internet, because loading takes forever and it is hardly worth your trouble if you have dial-up internet. So, to break it down for you:

Pros:
Incredible plots
Beautiful Graphics
Sounds and music(as well as weapons!!)str8 from the movies
Wonderful online play

Cons:
Too many deaths in online game
Not worth playing online without DSL or cable internet
Movies could have used some tweaking

Suprisingly flawless sequel and a great FPS.

The first AvsP felt very buggy and weird, but this was like a revelation. Seriously one of the best FPS I've ever played. The multiplayer value and perfect replication of what it should be like to play as an alien or a predator are what make this game shine. I didn't think a franchised FPS could be so good, but really, its up there with the better FPS of all time. FUN.
