I played this game ad infnitum; the gameplay and graphics are great, although I wish that the economic model wasn't so stingy with the X-Generation ships. I found that an XCA or XCB was more than a match for just about any battleship. The Romulan, Gorn and Hydran X-ships were the best (the Romulan and Gorn varients tended to copy each other), while I found the ISC to be good in concept, but underpowered, the Mirak and Klingon just okay, the Federation variants a bit hard to master - but well worth the effort - and the Lyran X-varients decidedly inferior. The game tended to crash if you were playing either as a part of the pirate cartels or against them, and if you were playing as the Lyrans and used your ESG's to ram, the game would generate an aural artifact that would continue well after the end of the scenrio. Still, all in all, a better game than SFC II due to the inclusion of the X-Ships.

If I had a choice, I would Elite Force before I play this game. I wanted forever but the game is not bad. The game requires you to do a lot of baby-sitting and you are compressed to time. The tricoder has to be used a lot like to find energy terminals and health terminals. The game offers a variety of people or things to shoot at. The problem or the good news is that you have to spend a lot of time by yourself, the game is quite clever because the different team members doing some of the thinking but you can't shoot them or hurt them like you did in the other elite force game. When you did in that game, they would turn around and shoot you and even if you killed them, the game didn't allow to go on but that is not a problem in this game. Last, the game is not a very good game to be basing on the series. Picard and Barclay are the only people from TNG and Tuvok is brought back as well.

I am highly dissappointed in this sequel. The ships/bases are not as realistic as the first game and the firepower is not as realistic as the first game. This game didn't even come with an instruction manual! I love the instant action of the first game but the sequel is horrible. I have tried to give this game a chance but after wasting 7 hours I'm through. I literally thought I was going to get sick. Do not waste your money on this. The new technology and the addition of the Cardassian and Species 8472 is not worth it. The Maps are not even as good as the first game! The 3D view isn't worth it either, gave me a migraine. I repeat, NOT AS REALISTIC as the first game! I'm going back to the first game and I'm going to try to pawn part II off on someone else.
Fleeting but wonderful

The missions were incredibly fun and interesting. Just challenging enough and really captured that Star Trek experience. However, within about a week the games were pretty much exhausted (except for the misc optional battles which are pretty dry). It's kind of shocking to "run out of play" that quickly. That said, it was still great fun and worth it!
the best game ive ever known!!!!!!!!!

This is a very cool game. I only have one problem with it. I can play it on the computer by myself but have yet been able to figure out how to connect to my brothers computer and play against him. We worked for hours trying to connect.

This game is slowly getting better as far as crashing goes. but it still (sadly) looks a lot like the first game... they have added new ships and new abilities along with 2 new races... but it is really a lot like before. If you loved armada like i did this game is worth buying. Here are the pros and cons
---PROS
)2 New races
)Fewer Bugs
)New ships and special functions
)Better interface
)New maps and single player levels
)Has a tutorial level set
---CONS
)Seems to use more memory, hard drive space, processor time, and zaps more from a graphics card...
)still has some bugs on older systems
)Has only 3 (major) single player level sets
)Seems to have a weaker story.
Overall i would say... this is one you'll have to decide for yourself.
Fun

Not the best but fun playing the captain of the ship. Choosing a strategy can be tough at times but it offers a unique perspective not done before.
