I just got the new version of Scrabble, and it's easier than the old one. The old one, by the same company, required the Scrabble CD to be playing while YOU were playing. Not so with the new version: just click and go! Easy to install, made for the Mac, both pluses. If you play against the computer, you can choose from a number of levels to match your own skill level. The dictionary feature keeps you from having to flip through a hard-copy dictionary a zillion times to see if a word actually exists.
Runs under XP without a hitch

Not a bad version of scrabble, to say the least, for a real nice price. I had some difficulty trying to install it under win2K, but under XP it works without any special incantations at all. Can't wait to see version 3.

It is a very good Scrabble game, but I miss the features of the game I had on my old computer-having the extras such as two- and three- word-find games. Also bingo word-find games.
New features on latest Scrabble.

I especially enjoyed the fact that the newest Scrabble does not immediately penalize you for putting down a word that isn't in the dictionary. It just lets you continue play. And the newest version also doesn't play that music incessantly. The option to do a timed play is also interesting. All in all, I enjoy it a lot.

Awesome! At last a Scrabble game for Macs that works with OS 10 and doesn't require that the disc be inserted to play a game.
Not the same

I was so excited to find a scrabble CD that would be Mac OS X.5 friendly. This is it BUT, it is not the same game that I played on my OS 9. Not at all. The graphics don't compare, but more importantly, it doesn't "challenge" when your word is incorrect. Plus, there aren't the exercise games I used to play like 2 letter, 3 letter, anagrams, etc. Also, there isn't a way for more than one player to play the computer. One at a time anyway. No keeping tabs on running scores for other players in my house. It is very disappointing and I hope MacSoft can come up with an up to date game, not so "Mickey Mouse".
A classic game!

This game is a lot of fun. I have been playing it for years (this particular computer version, I mean), and it still never ceases to entertain me. I don't know what these people mean about it not working well on XP. It works flawlessly for me, though I admit I have had problems with it on 98 and others. There is a fix out for the 256 color problem. But anyways, I highly recommend this game!
Game is fun if you can put up with crazy color change

I have Windows 98 and of course have to switch to 256 colors, which isn't too bad. The problem is that after about 12 minutes of playing the colors "go crazy" and fade out to where you can't read the letters. To continue playing you have to hit the interrupt the game button, minimiz, and then bring back up and unpause the game. This happens every 12 minutes while in play. I've had my computer checked and it's not my computer. It is still fun to play, if you don't mind getting interrupted every 12 miniutes.
interesting enough

If you really love Scrabble, this version of this game is not going to keep you playing a lot. But if you are a new or curious gamer, it's going to be interesting enough for getting into your collection.
Good points:
+ Nice interface.
+ Great English dictionary included.
+ Nice basic options.
+ Good strategies from the computer when you play against it.
Bad points:
- It is limited to just 2 players in a single game.
- You don't see your letters when it is the turn of the other gamer.
- There are not very advanced options, as changing rules of the game, or give another pointing system, etc.
What I would like to see in future versions:
* All the previous comments adapted (2+ gamers at a time, seeing your letters when it is not your turn, having advaced options).
* A internet-enabled real time multiplayer game option. The tournament option would be so great!
* The possibility of having not just English, but Spanish, French, etc. included, and switch the language for a complete game (a single match to have a single language).

I have this game but the one and it is a lot of fun. I want the one that came out before this one did. I had it in my computer but when I had the computer worked on it was lost. How can I find the older version? Scrabble of any kind is right up my alley. ELL
