Good, but don't expect the classic Sims experience

This is a good game, but I would not call it a true Sims game. Perhaps a good way to describe it is how it is in the game. They are not Sims, they are Urbz. The two are different, as are the two games.
While clearly of the same genere and series and all that good stuff, its also different. It uses Busin' Out's goals system, but takes it a step further. There is little potential to play this game as a true Sims game. You cannot buy anything that does not already exist somewhere in the world you are in. You are given an apartment, but i found myself rarely there. The only time you really use it is for skill building. Your fewer motives can be easily and quickly filled by items found in any of the i believe its about 8 areas.
It is also a very easy game. You know which social options will work on other urbz by color coding them green yellow and red. The goals are simple enough to fufill as well. all in all it makes it a very short game. VERY short. I have had it about 2 days now and am very close to completing every goal.
But it is still a good game. It is just not the conventional Sims game that has become famous.
Loads of girly fun!!!

Which is not to say that guys can't love it too, but my boyfriend does make fun of me for how much I love changing the outfits and social networking. Yes, loading does take some time, but IMO it's definately worth it. The graphics are great, and the social moves you learn are much more intricate and entertaining. There are so many great clothes (and piercings and tatoos, yes!), and the way that the game pokes fun at, while appreciating, all these stereotypical urban subcultures is hilarious and very fun. The music is also fantastic. Rent it first - you'll probably either love it (me) ot hate it (my guy).
Can You Say Awesome????...

...Well of course yo ucan, but you don't have to! This game says it all for itself. Now, if you were a lover of teh Sims, Sims Bustin Out, or Sims 2, I say rent the game first. But you'll be hooked!
Urbz has much better graphics and the designer did a great job on the clothes! Girly? Theres lots of pink for you! Not so into that style? No worries, punk and rock is another choice. Not wither? Just go casual! The hair is incredible! Pink, blue, brown, black, yellow, red, orange, and even purple! Rave it out any way you like.
Now, let's get talking about these places the game has got. First of all, you choose the first location to start out with, then you unlock others (i say start out with Diamond Heights, it gives you the most money with their job). There is a skate town, punk town, girly town, BEP town they have got absoulutley everything! And you can get money easily. Just do the job in every town and you get atleast three hundred dollars for one time. All the places have about ten different people to meet, and when you talk to people, it makes you more popular!
Now let's get to this popularity thing. Talk to people and you get popular. Easy, right? Wrong. IF you mess up?... your popularity level goes down. You could go from level 200 to 20! Do the greens and yellows when you think it's ok. But reds are a no-no. There are many people to meet. Rich ones, poor ones, nice ones, mean ones, pretty ones, ugly ones. But no matter who it is they will all give you popularity if yo uare nice to them. I have unlocked all the places and am very close to the last place. I am level 300, and am boosting every time i talk to someone.
Now the pros and cons. Pros: Best graphics, good soundtrack, easy goals, great places, nice clothes, nice things to unlock, easy to raise you level, and much much more.
Cons: If you mean, your level goes down, music has no words, no showers in the towns, have to pay rent.
Now that you have read my review, I hope you will buy the game. It is really great but you might want to rent it first. I got hooked and couldn't stop playing! My mom had to nag me to get off. Not very many video games do that to me. :D
not as good as the PC games

As a huge Sims fan, I'll admit I've never been as crazy about the console games as I have the PC games. For one, I hate the screwy navigation on the controller, the shoddy graphics - and not to mention the console versions aren't as open-ended as the PC ones are.
But the Urbz is my favorite of the console games so far. Finally, your Sims live in the city (!!) instead of tired, suburban Simsville. This time, instead of what can be a somewhat monotonous game, your Urb is destined to become the most popular citizen in Sim City: sort of like a Playstation 2 version of Paris Hilton.
One thing I really like about this is how you can help your Urb at work or to build skills. I absolutely hated sitting waiting around for my Sims to build skills or come home from work - this time, Maxis gives you a hand in achieving your Urb's goal, making it not as boring to sit around and watch your Sims do all of the menial tasks you assign them to do.
My favorite addition to the game is the Black Eyed Peas - what other game allows you to hang out with Fergie backstage and pub songs? Rock.
I hope Maxis tweaks this up and puts out a version for the PC as well - hopefully one that's a bit more challenging. Save your money and buy the Urbz in a few months, when it's down to $20.

At least the URBZ Sims have a life (cause I don't). Very addictive game. I think young girls would enjoy this game more than boys or adults. What I enjoyed about the previous Sims' games was you could create which perked my interest in architecture. You cannot create much in this game. You mostly work to raise your reputation to complete goals. Also the creators of URBZ should have given us gamers a better instructional booklet. Had no idea how to use the Power Ups and wasn't sure what to do when I had to go to work. What do you do if the robot station burns down? The URBZ are not very happy in this part of town. Be prepared to spend most of your time waiting for the game to load. That's one of the reasons I do not have the patience to play the game through again. You can't complete the last goal - it must be a secret. Rumors are spreading that you have to play through the game 3 more times to fulfill the last goal. Some games I enjoy the second & third times when I play through, but this is not one of those games. If this is a taste of where the Sims' games are heading, I won't be playing with the Sims anymore - sorry Bella.
A bit disappointing.....

Okay, I'll admit, the graphics and the ability to actually work your jobs and change clothes and all are good, but over all, I'm disappointed in this game.
Once I got to the point where I was at the penthouse, the game began to collect dust. The replay urge is SO not there. I actually want to sell it and get something else. Busting Out was much better. However, I hear there another one coming out towards the end of the year about Sims Night Life. Let's hope this one isn't so much a waste of $50.
This one is REALLY a game to rent, not buy......

This is one of my favorite games because everything else is already created, but your Sim. So, it's like as if you are that person or that personality with your Sim. I like the interaction with other Sims because you shouldn't miss a thing what they been doing. It's funny to watch the Black Eyed Peas fight over the TV. It's like a Soap Opera except it's too bad you can't wear punk clothes to work. This is my favorite game and I hope the other Sims games meet the mark.

This is a great game. I recomed it for adult players thought, cause there is sexuality in it, "Fergie", acts like she's stoned or sexy or something, you know, some people may not think a child like 10 should see or act like that.
But, overall it's a great game for someone 18 and over.
put bad things to good use

well the game is pretty cool. but its not like the other sims like bustin out.
this game is alot different, like instead of building a house you just fix your apartment
and instead of pressing the X button over and over and over until your guy moves but now you actuallycontrol it.
And at your job instead of waiting you get to control it
. some people wrote reviews about this before
beating the game so they get stuff wrong like the fact that you can have pets.
i read two people reviews that complained about not being able to have them. but its a pretty good game overall.

The Urbz is about the best game ever! You rent your apartment, and unlock pets and reputation. You can go to many different places, and make some friends. Challenges are made by your friends, and your face appears on posters in town!
YOU COULD BE THE MOST POPULAR SIM IN THE CITY!!!
