They Could've Tested It Before Releasing It

I purchased this game for my Dad (who's a pretty savvy computer user in his own right), based upon our mutual enjoyment of Rowan's "Mig Alley". This game WON'T install, we can't uninstall it, and to add insult to injury, Mig Alley now crashes when we try to run it (so there's obviously some kind of heinous conflict going here).
Just another case of a game, delayed ad infinitum, and finally foisted on the public so that we, having paid full retail, can debug it for the developer.
Use the Update Patch!

I was the second reviewer of this game to post on Amazon. I was not impressed. I am now! Great work has been done by the "BoB Development Group"[] Their updates have transformed the game for me (including the latest .90 version). Forget Rowan's tech support All the help in the world is there, quick and friendly.
It doesn't tolerate marginal graphics systems. If in doubt, go to the message board and ask if yours will work.
This is my third posting for this game. Buy it, update it, and enjoy an excellent WWII flight sim!
Very disappointing!

I was really looking forward to playing this game, but after I installed it and got into it I realized that my machine (PII-400) was much to slow to handle this game. The graphics looked terrible for some reason, there seemed to be problems galore. So many aspects didn't work. Even after I installed the recently released patch there still were numerous flaws. I'm really surprised that this game even got released in its state. I hope they continue to work on releasing new patches, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend buying this just yet.

This sim causes many system problems and their teck. support is a joke. I have the most up to date system available in the market. What a pain!

I wish I had read these reviews before buying it. Its a mess. So many bugs its unplayable. I have the latest 1Gb machine with 64Mb video etc etc and its still hopeless. Longest run is about 2 minutes before it crashes. Save your cash.

I find this game too long to load simulations, does not have enough flexibilty when planning and launching German Air Raids and also crashes after each simulation ends. This game was not tested enough before release. Although the graphics are excellent, I cannot stand the constant simulation crashes, I am very disappointed with this game.

I have been a fan of flight sims for a long while. Since the early '90s at least. Only very rarely does a game come along that stuns with its incredible graphics, unbelievable engine and stunning gameplay. The engine is powerful enough to display literally hundreds of aircraft at one time, really pulling you into the feeling that you are part of a massive battle and (if you play as the RAF) that you are well, and truly outnumbered. The level of difficulty in the game is almost infinitely customisable, with options ranging from invincibility to manual or automatic engine control, to having the option to set the weather so it is always favourable. Literally anyone of any skill level can enjoy this game. The aircraft are a joy to fly, and feel very realistic (although I, personally have never flown any of the aircraft in question, they stil feel right). And the incredible adrenalin rush that comes from being involved in a dogfight with multiple squadrons of spitfires and hurricanes versus hundreds of bombers and ME109s is second to none. The only game in recent years to even come close is "B-17 Flying Fortress : The Mighty Eighth", which, while still a very good game (and very worthy of your attention) is not as good as this. As for the numerous people who have had technical issues with this game, all i can say is that i'm sorry this has infringed their enjoyment of such a fantastic product. I, personally, have not had any such issues, and on my system (PIII 800 with 256Mb RAM and 32Mb Video Card) the game loads very quickly and runs incredibly smoothly.
In short, This game is the ultimate flight sim for anyone who wants a historical game with a real sense of involvement in the battle being fought. For a modern day couterpart see the wonderful "Falcon 4".
Worthless junk!

This software is the biggest piece of junk I've ever seen. The tech support is non-existent. You have to manipulate your computer and the software code just to get this to run. Then you start to encounter all sorts of other problems. I've got a fast computer with a good video card, lots of RAM, latest soundcard and this game creates nothing but havoc! You'll get more enjoyment from making paper airplanes out of your twenty dollar bills and tossing them off a tall building.
Don't buy this! Move On!!

This is the worst game I have ever played for a flight simulator. The graphics are horrible and it took forever to finally fly. For such an interesting topic, they sure turned out an atrocious game. I would feel really bad if I was someone who worked on this game. What a waste!!

A major disappointment for a flight simulation game. If you like combat flying a much better bet is Microsoft's CFS. You can do much more with it and there is a lot of add-on activity that is really good. With CFS you can develop missions yourself and put in lots of aircraft with loads of action. I've done a whole series of missions about the English and Dutch during the early days of WWII and we have much, much more fun with them than with the BOB simulation. In fact it now sits on the shelf unused!
