Atari's Expansion looks like they'll copy off EA's The Sims

I have to admit that when I played the original Roller Coaster Tycoon I was impressed. I was happy with the expansions added to that game too. Each expansion added new rides and scenery and lots of new scenerios. It was quite fun to play.
However, I have not been impressed by RCT2. It's a rework of the original with very little new content and too many things changed or removed. This Time Twister Expansion Pack, being released months after the Wacky World Expansion Pack, should say one thing to everyone out there: Atari is attempting to create add on packs in a similar fashion as what EA did with The Sims. However, the expansions for RCT2 add much less in content. All they do is take the same old rides and create new ride vehicles. That does not justify a whole brand new ride! It's the same thing just reworked. Yes, a lot of scenery is added too. But there's no significant change in gameplay! You're still building the same parks with the same old rides. They just have the option of looking different now. It's much like how you could download new buildings for Sim City 2000 or 3000. EA never charged anyone for that because it's not changing gameplay--it's just making things look nicer, if you want. Does Atari think it's special or something so that it can charge money?
I used to be a huge RCT fan. Currently, I'm disgusted. I would not pay more than $... for any of these RCT2 expansions if I were to ever get them. At present, I will not buy any expansion to RCT2. Companies have got to learn that you can't slap together a few little visual enhancements, put them in a box, and sell them. I'm extremely dissapointed.

Atari has taken a great game(rct) and utterly ruined. WW(wacky worlds) was a huge and total waste. The origional was supposed to have a sandbox mode(which it didnt), so dont get your hopes up kids. The true fans out there are doing the exact same thing atari is doing by creating scenery. Yet oddly enough, ours is better. Chris you have ruined the game we all so loved by selling out to atari. F You atari thanks for the peice of crap that youve made..Btw you wont be getting my money.

After puchasing this Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 expansion pack, Time Twister, I am needless to say this abseloutely the WORST computer software I have ever bought. Atari has simply reused concepts that started in the original tycoon game, such as Dinosours, and then have added a couple "new" game elements which are irritatingly pointless. Spend your well-earned $14.95 on something worth it.
Nope

I love how incredibly unintelligent people are allowed to write a review for a game that is not even out and one which they have no clue about. At least I am writing from the experience of playing all the RCT games and expansions and understanding the game and how things work.
This expansion will be as bad as Wacky Worlds. The RCT franchise will continue to be absolutely horrible until it is taken out of the hands of its publisher - Infogrames (now Atari).
Pass on this and all other RCT games and expansions until people with knowledge on the subjet give it their approval rating. Until then you are just ignorantly wasting your money.
Lame-Oh! Atari what have you done!

Chris Sawyer would roll over in his grave (if he was dead) if he even cared what Atari has done to his incredible RCT game. Every add-on and expansion that he was not involved with has been a total dissapointment to the point where the good things about RCT1 have even been taken away. Buy at your own risk.
what a waste of money and computer space

do you like creating , riding , and controlling REAL rollercoasters??? If you do go to No limits Rollercoaster simulator.com and down load a game that completely blows this sorry game out of the water. (better graphics, and you cand ride the coasters!!! and create them also) If you must- get the first rollercoaster tycoon 2- its a decent title BUT stay far away from the expansion packs they STINK- a complete waste of money.
oh my gosh don't even waste your money!!!

this game is so much fun!!!... until you install time twister. it is basically crappy graphics thrown onto the original designs with boring themes. it's really not worth the money. corkscrew follies and loopy landscapes are a much better value because they look like they haven't been thrown together in an hour.
Still can't think of a title

Ok, ENOUGH WITH THE SCENERY!!! There is so much scenery, omg, it anoys me. They couldn't have put something else in like a ride your ride thing. Ya the scenery is nice and now some of it actually moves, but I don't really use scenery. Even if I did, there is still too much of it. New rides? Ya right. They did the same thing that they did in Wacky Worlds, replaced the old car with a different looking one. Some new ride.
To conclude... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. YOUR NOT MISSING ANYTHING. But if you really wan't all that scenery and new scenorios, borrow it from somebody cause you don't need the disc to play it (you use the RCT2 disc). Just borrow it and install it and you will have it. Again, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Dosen't really live up

The game dosen't live up in many ways.
First off, the scenery for the olden days -- Mythology, Prehistory -- etc, is excellent and bountiful. There's only ONE package for the future and it's mostly walls.
I think the game's ratio of Time Twisting leans strictly towards the past. Most of the new elements relate to building "old" or "past" things like classics.
The new shops and stalls sell the standards. No new foods or drinks. A new bathroom style -- wooden. For Jurassic Parks?
The game's futuristic rides seem less than futuristic. Sure, they look like it, but really rides of the future would be a little less primative. Another flaw is the sheer stupidity of the, let's say, Robin Hood scenario. Those rides, I'm sure didn't exist in the Robin Hood time -- especially roller coasters made of "mini-steel"!
The game dosen't exactly deliver what it says. Same interface, graphics. Most new rides come in the form of redesigning (giving a new vehicle for, mostly!) an old standard: the Reverser Coaster becomes "Police Chase" but it just has new cars, and the like.
Not really worth it. You're not missing out.
On the plus side, the Scenario Editor has more choices and you can build a park with better realism to the theme--but still... Not really wroth it
