A perfect game. Don't expect a whole lot new if you have played this on the Genisis. The thing is, that is what is so great. Nothing is lost from the console version. The frame rate is FAST. The colors are sharp and images well defined. It's hard to believe they can pack a system as powerful as a Genisis or SNES into a package this small. If you are thinking about buying the NEO GEO Pocket, this game alone can justify it. Buy the System, buy the game. By the way, don't shed too many tears when your Game Boy starts collecting dust in the corner. It had its day in the sun too. HAVE FUN!

This is a fantastic game on the NeoGeo. I am simply in love with this little critter. I can play a level over and over again and never get tired of maneuvering this lightening quick hedgehog. What fun!

A handheld Sonic game with Sega Genesis graphics and fun

This is a spectacular game, and I like it because it comes with the Neo Geo Pocket. The game is like a regular Sonic adventure with bosses, bonus levels, and plenty of Sonic action. This game also has a new feature: a time trial mode with different ranks to match your time. The game itself has mostly levels from Sonic 2, with Sonic 3 music. Nevertheless, the levels are designed differently and still are fun. I also like the battle against Knuckles. When you buy a Neo Geo Pocket, be sure to spend time with this before purchasing other games to get used to this advanced handheld system.

I think that this is just like the genises only with fancy controls.The graphics are pretty much the same but the game is better. I recommend this game to the kind of people that don't get sick when they play a fast paced game like this one.

This game is so cool! I bought A New Neo Geo Pocket system just so that I could buy this, and I'm glad I did! Sonic Pocket adventure is kinda like Sonic 2( for the sega genesis.)However, this is much more than just a simple re-make of sonic 2! The levels are designed completely different in this game, and The bosses are completely different( In this game you even get to fight Knuckles!, but this time he seems too be much harder than before..) The Music is very good, and is mainly from Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles! The bosses are harder this time than when they were on Sonic 2, and it is easier to die in this game, than in most other sonic games. I really like the fact that when you beat an act or a Zone, it saves your progress, so if you die, you can start again at the level you died at.If you beat an act with at least 50 rings you can go to the special stages and Collect Chaos emeralds.So far I have collected three emeralds. Even though I beat this game In just a couple hours I still think that this game is awesome, really fun, and challenging.( note: I beat it with the Save option.) One awesome feature of this game is the "Mystery Photos"- the puzzles. There are small puzzle pieces hidden throughout the whole game. Some are difficult to find and some aren't. There are several different photos that you can make with the collected puzzle pieces. I have made one so far of Sonic The Hedgehog!Once You complete a photo, it turns into a colored photo! This game also has a time trial mode, which lets you try to beat your high score record(s). Once You complete an act, they rate you depending on your speed, so you can know how fast you really are!

Buy This game!, Trust me! It's awesome! Much better than Sonic advance will ever be...

This is the best NEOGEO game out there! Sonic graphics and speed are better than the PC game.

When I first bought my Neo Geo, this was one of the games I was definetly going to buy. I'm glad I did, as this game is brilliant. It takes levels from the Genesis/Mega Drive Sonic games 1, 2 and Sonic and Knuckles, with music from Sonic 3 and the "Sonic World" section on Sonic Jam on the Sega Saturn. These levels are renamed, and redesigned. I also like the way levels get merged. Take Gigantic Angel for instance. This is really the Scrap Brain Zone on Sonic 1, mixed in with the Metropolis zone of Sonic 2. Also, the addition of the puzzle pieces is a nice idea. It adds a lot of replay value to the game. I've had this game for a while now, and I have only managed to complete one puzzle. The Sonic 2 Special Stage is reproduced almost flawlessly, and they are incredibly tough to complete too. I have only managed to get 4 chaos emeralds out of 7. Also the two player game is genius too, as it lets you race agaist a mate. The only real letdown, is the lack of playable characters. You can only play as Sonic. Nevertheless, this is still a great game. If you have a Neo Geo Pocket, and don't already own this game, Buy it! This kept me off SNK vs Capcom MOTM (Match of the Millenium) for weeks! If you have any more money, buy that also, as that has the fighting action of Street Fighter, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown and Dalkstalkers all in one. Definetly the best two games on the Neo Geo Pocket at this time. BUY THEM!

If you've played the game boy advance version of sonic and then this one, you will notice that they have basically the same levels. Even the same bosses! The levels are designed differently but you can deffinetely see where sonic team got their ideas for sonic advance. Real creative huh. The "Sega" voice at the beginning brings me back to my genesis days filled with my beloved sonic games. The sound is pretty good and they included the famous end of stage music. The bonus stage is where you run through a quasi 3D slide thing and try to collect rings and avoid the obstacles. Since this came out far bafore sonic advance it deserves all of the credit. The graphics are superior as far as the neo geo pocket and gameboy color are concerned. If you still own a neo geo pocket color(geeze too many words in that name) This is one game that you should not not live without. I recently bought a new NGPC ... and just love playing sonic while traveling and during boring classes. Pick this one up before they're all gone. You won't regret it.

sonic pocket is an awesome game..the only REAL "adventure" sonic game(besides sonic adventure and sonic adventure 2 on dreamcast). my friend owns this game..and i play it all the time, the only bad thing about it, is that it is never available!! (and that this is the cheapest place that has it..so u don't wanna get it anywhere else)
