I got this game when it was first release, and it was the best Star Wars game that was ever released at that time. The story is very compelling and Kyle Katarn really has become a hero in the Star Wars universe, and one of my favorite characters of the expanded universe. This story is one of the best there is for a Star Wars video game. I HIGHLY recommend all Star Wars fans get this game, you really are missing out if you don't have it!

A True Classic Star Wars Game

This game is truly great, an American classic (once you do a lot of downloads, that is). It is based on the time just after the fall of the Empire. You fight as Kyle Katern, a student of Luke Skywalker who is trying to find his destiny. The more people you kill, the further your path leads to a new generation of Sith, while the quicker each job gets done, the closer you are to becoming a Jedi Master. Altogether, this game gets a ***** rating from me.

One of the most underrated games of all time

Don't let this game's age fool you. This game is fun. Once you can ignore the game's graphics, you will like this game. It has a plethora of puzzles, a good storyline, your character has many force powers, and a lightsaber to boot. I'd rather play this game than some of the newer games with all the advanced graphics but with real limited gameplay. You're a Jedi Knight in this game!

This started out a game with no real action. sure, bang bang, punch, bang. it bgins an uphill journey, which makes it impossible to find all of the secret areas. i wish, one of these days, Lucasarts would make a game that actually has the character start out with a lightsaber, but noooooooooo, you have to work for it. the aspect of the game in the sense that you finally get to choose whether you actually are a light or dark jedi is fun. you got to hand it to the weapons, though. a tip to readers, the 13th level may seem unbeatable, but when you get into the colloseum-like area, DO NOT FIGHT, by any means, because thay just come back. instead, jump on the boxes, then onto the ledge where there is one troop. kill him, pull the lever that opens the door and RUN into it. kil hte couple of troops inside then close the door and hop on the elavator for the ride of your life, or death. In the last level, against Jerec, do not let him into the tube that goes up!!!!! he automaticly heals when he reaches the top. I found it useful to block the entrance with my body.

Pros:
FINALLY, A LIGHTSABER!!!!
weapons reallistic
voice and cutscenes are awesome.

Cons:
graphics are not as hot as they should be
blaster are weak
rifles are too strong.

in conclusion, this game has its ups and downs, which is a good thing for hard-core starwars fans.

for starwars and rpg fans: get
for shoot em' up gamers: be careful
for gamers who like to sneak, as in splinter cell: stay away at all costs!

Best Game Since 1997!

As being a dedicated JK'er since 1997, I have to write a review for anyone out there thinking about purchasing this game.

First off, this game was way ahead of its time when it was first released. The graphic engine and multiplayer aspects dominated any competition there were at the time!

The never-ending contributions from JK players all over the world also make it one of the all time best games ever! The endless array of 3rd party levels and mods there are for this game are astronomical! Over the years, fellow JK Editors have found ways of updating it to make it play and look better. I am one of them. I have created a multiplayer level series for this game called The Dralloc Series (www.theddc.cjb.net) which shows exactly how much this game has grown!

With the utilization of new 3D graphic power, Jedi Knight really shines! The lighting and architectural abilities of the JK engine make absolutely outstanding visuals that make you think as if you were really there! (especially in Dralloc Levels)

The single player aspect of this game also stands out. Either ripping through it with a wide arsenal of high-powered weapons, or weilding your trusty lightsaber, you are also accompanied with several force powers of your choice. They really come in handy when up against the stonger, more difficult enemies!

In conclusion, this is by far one of the best First Person Shooters of all time! Definately worth the buy! Own a piece of Star Wars history today!

An Excellent Game

This game is so very good that while I played it, I almost literally had to tear myself away from the computer for school. It was really cool how they had the cutscenes with actors in them. They really help with the bad graphics. Saber Fighting in this game is far easier than in Jedi Outcast, though if you asked me about graphics, Jedi Outcast would definetly win. Storyline, cutscenes, fighting, and... imaginitive charachters, to say the least, make this game so good that you even forget about the bad graphics. Most of the Time

graphics rock, but story jumps

now, this is a good game as far as gameplay, but you start out not knowing anything and have to improvize. most charachters have no distinguishable intro. you really have to improvize through the first 3 levels, but the the game heats up. you start dueling with lightsabers, and stormtroopers get into it. when you beat the game as a light jedi, it has an ending which leaves much to be desired. it is impossible to beat as a dark jedi.

Jedi Knight - THE BEST Star Wars game--EVER!

If you are browsing through these reviews to decide whether to buy this game or not...

BUY IT!!!

Even 6+ years after its release, LucasArts has a classic that still endures.

Graphics: Not really exciting, but once you get into the AWESOME gameplay, graphics don't really seem important.

Gameplay: 1 word: Lightsaber!!! Yes, LucasArts chose to provide the weapon of the Jedi, along with 9 other weapons (can anyone say Concussion Rifle?). Single-player has one of the best stories ever for a FPS. As Kyle Katarn, you must save the Valley of the Jedi from the evil Jerec. Along the way to stop him you must also fight 6 other Dark Jedi in some of the most exciting battles ever. Multiplayer has THE most solid engine ever. You can be playing on a modem that connects at 19600 BPS on Saturday night, and the gaming on the MSN Gaming Zone...is EXCELLENT! There are plenty of games to get your fix.

Sound: The usual Star Wars laser blasts, lightsaber sounds, and the excellent score by John Williams all combine to provide a distinct Star Wars experience.

I can't even BEGIN to START on this amazing game.

And to you, the Amazon Customer, looking for a good game to buy, buy it. Heck, its [got a good price].
