Great Game for a Gameboy

This is a really fun game! I play it all the time. It's about farming, raising animals, and getting married. You get to pick if you play as a boy or a girl. The only problem with being a girl is that after you get married, the gsme will end. If you play as a boy and you get married, the game will continue. You also can pick one pet from a choice of eight.

Pets:

Large Dog: Keeps wild dogs away
Medium Dog: the original dog, keeps wild dogs away
Tiny Dog- Smaller than medium dog, keeps wild dogs away
Black Cat- a black cat that brings you seeds
White Cat-It actually is pink and it brings you seefs
Brown Cat-a brown cat that brings you seeds
Pig-a pig that brings you money
Falcon-a falcon that flies around.

There is sooo much to do! You can even go to the movies!!!

Livestock:

Chickens
Cows
Sheep
Horses (you can have more than one and you can ride them. 3 different colors)

This game is really cool.You can really "be the person".It is very hard to put it down.You can be a boy or girl.If you are a girl,the game ends when you get married to your "partner".But,if you are a boy,you get to get married,and have a baby.Ok,graphic critics,these are NOT good graphics.They are like the old pokemon game graphics.PLEASE READ ON,THIS IS IMPORTANT!

I WAS DOING WONDERFUL IN MY GAME AND TO MY SURPRISE,THE NEXT TIME I PLAYED IT MY GAME WAS NOT SAVED!!!

So...if your gameboy color is old or doesnt work that good...dont get this because,even if you are married on the game and you are very successful,it could still shut off on you.

This was the BEST HM game I'd ever played! You can take care of animals, grow tons of crops, and own more than one horse! You can even marry your partner, but the game ends after you do if you're a girl. But don't worry- you don't have to get married! Overall, the best game you could ever own!

this game is awsome i got it 4 christmas and it it totally rad ive played FMT but i threw it away because of harvest goddes false church curses but the gamecube version was fun but i didnt have anything left to buy this one is the bomb if your lucky to get your hands on one [...] you will have loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a big fan of the Harvest Moon series all along. But when I came across a used cartridge of this game, I just had to buy it. Harvest Moon is what I would cal; "A whole other door into RPG fun". The idea of raising a farm sounds stupid, but once you play this game- you will be hooked.

Graphics (4/5) If you have played HM2, you'll notice a similarity in the graphics. They are still the same, with small details within the weeds, stones, etc. A good option for this game is that you can choose the farmer's clothes... suiting to your liking of the graphics. I find this system really neat! Overall, the graphics are the standard ones, but I love changing the colors of the outfits!

Controls: (4/5)- Alright, since this is a GBC game, the controls are simple simple simple. Hold B to run, and A to use tools. Its that easy to control your farmer! The only thing is that choosing the tools involves pressing select, then pressing A, then pressing select over the tool you want, then pressing B, and press select to close the menu. Also, you have to hold B and a direction to run, which gets your finger hurting and can damage your GBC/GBA in minutes.

Gameplay (5/5) I find the gameplay in this game just terrific! Farming may not sound so great, right? But it is amazingly addicting!

Also, this game has a big change from the other gameboy games. To start, you can get married to your partner who you were trying to help out. Also, there is a totally different island to go on that is for shopping, watching movies, etc. There are a number of cutscenes, and I like the fact that they mean something- rather than just to have fun.

Crops are another feature that differs from the other games. In HM3GBC , you have a shovel in which you can dig a pond and spring up. You can use this shovel to make waterways in your fields so you can plant the one of a kind crop- rice.

Now animals take the spotlight. A new animal is avalible in this game- a horse. But not just one, but eight of them you can own. This game also offers a unique breeding system. Instead of a miracle potion, you have to put two opposing gendered animals in this corner of your barn. Basically, breeding is free and efficiant to raising a successful farm.

Finally, instead of slowly upgrading your house and starting with furniture, it is the other way around. You buy furniture for a huge house... but at a costly price. In this game, you gotta work hard to succeed, or else you will fail.

Replayability- (3/5) Most Harvest Moon games have great replay value. However, this game wouldnt have what I consider "hours of replay". There are tons of upgrades for your house and everything, but once you get all of the upgrades, the idea of farming is useless. What does the money go to? Buying seeds. Where do the seeds go? In the bin to make a profit. When you have everything, though, what is the use of a profit.

Overall-(4/5) Overall this game is worth every penny. With over 50 new features, this game is a total blast. I would highly recommend this for long car trips, as the gameplay lasts for 30+ hours. If you ever see this game on amazon or at another retailor, pick it up. This game is VERY VERY rare and hard to find nowadays, as very few copies were made. For those of you who haven't played the series, and are looking for a challenge, get this game for sure!

Harvest Moon one had a failure which rested in the tool system. Sometimes you would lose your tools and couldn't get them back. Harvest Moon 2 was okay but I never got into it that much.

This game is fantastic and blows away the other two. You now can raise 32 animals at a time. 8 cows, 8 horses, 8 chickes, and 8 sheep. If you are the girl your job is to do the animals while the boy works, or, if your the boy, you till the soil while the girl does the animal stuff. You can also do some minigames and build relationships with people in town.

There are problems with this game. The major one is that you need to build up your relationship with the girl or the boy(depending on the one you are) to have them do work. I'm the boy right now and the girl doesn't do much unless you give her items that you harvest. Once you do give more she will become much better but at first she is rather useless. I tried the girl and the same thing happens. The boy is too lazy to clear the field. He removes basically a rock and gives up. In time he gets better but it takes exactly that, time.

This is a good game. It gets fun and you have plenty of years to accomplish your goals. 5 stars!

Harvest Moon 3 is the bomb game! You have to befriend the people inntown, and they don't always say the same thing OVER and OVER again. The only thing is you have to get your own boat if you want to go to the market. Things can get kind of boring, but the events are fun! Plus you don't have to build the barns and you can have up to I think 8 animals of each! I'm really 13, but this game is for ALL ages! The best game so far for Harvest Moon is Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

The Best Game of this Century!!!

This is Natsume's best game yet!! In the begining you have the choice of being a girl or boy, what your blood type is (which is pointless), when your birthday is, you and your partners name, and your pet. I suggest that you be a boy (even though I'm a girl) because when you get married the girl cannot continue, but the boy can keep going! How stupid in my opinion!
But it's still a great game! You have many places to explore and shop at. Eventually you build a boat, get items for your home (like T.Vs, cribs, rugs, etc.), and over time you'll start to fall in love with your partner and get married. When you have children they'll grow up over time and help you on the farm! How nice!
But the cool part is now you can have sheep, horses, cows, and chickens. You also get a wide variety of plants and items to help you on your farm work.
Now over time you'll have to be nice to your partner, your gonig to have to get married one day! At first if you talk to them they'll say "what?" or "what is it?". But as you start to give them items and spend mare time with them they'll start to say things like "Do you like living with me?" Over all it's the perfect game for anyone! Like, everyone you talk to they say "a farming game?" and once you let them play it they're addicted. So if I don't mind saying so "GET THIS GAME BEFORE THEY'RE ALL OUT!!!!" Have a great time with your game, or are you not up to having so much fun?

This game is pretty neat!! You can have 8 horse of different colors, 8 cows of different colors, 8 chickens (tho they are ALL white they change gold after a while!) and eight sheep of all the same color tho... But you can get married have two kids ( a boy first and then a girl ) you can tell when shes going to be pregnant when she says she has a dream about a stork. then he announces she is gonna be pregnant a few days after the dream!! Then she cant work for two months.. :( I have never played the old ones but this one is great!! It gets a lil boring after you play it five times and then it says like "oh sorry were gonna have to sell the farm!!!" i got SO mad but than like i tried again and it gets better every time! You make more money being the girl but if you get pregnant than you cant play and you dont have power ups like the boy does....... I LOVED IT!!!

when i found out harvest moon 3 was comming out i was really impressed with the new adjustments natsume made to their latest release in the hm series. it is much better than any other hand-held hm game yet. the new tools r awsome and now u can get married, but only to your partner. although the tasks may seem repetuous, it is more fun to go through them then using any shortcuts (believe me i know). there could be more landmarks, and u should be able to chose your own music, otherwise u might go insane. overal i give it 5 stars, for fun, 4 1/2 for difficulty, and a 10 for overal gameplay.( i know the highest is 5 but this is a GREAT game!)
