This game is so much fun, I can't put it down. I play all day long and it's still entertaining! I think I'm bordering on abseccion!!!!! My son loves it to... he never loses interest in it! The only reason I gave this game an overall of 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of dating. Other than that, this game is perfect!!! Hope you enjoy it to!

Awesomely fun game

Harvest Moon 2 is an insanely fun game, which is pretty surprising, seeing as, well...it's a video game based on a farm. Whoever came up with the idea though, is intelligent.

The game starts off with the mayor of a small town being told that a historic farm will be turned into an amusement park. The mayor takes it upon himself to hire someone to fix up the farm, and make enough profit to save it. That's where you come in. You grow fruits and veggies (every season you get new ones), raise animals once you have enough feed/money, and you can fish and gather berries. Every so often new garden tools, extenions to your farm, or plants are available. But, you only have three years to raise enough money to save the farm.

Harvest Moon 2 is really, really fun, but there's a tick (it might just be in my game though, but I'm not sure) - you can't ever buy chickens. They're cheap, and a major source of money, but every time I go to buy them, the shop owner says I don't have enough feed. (I have the max. capacity of food stored in the silo.)

Overall grade - A

As cool as a farming simulation can be!

Harvest moon is a great series. It is about farming. If you don't like wasting time moving around and doing virtual chores, don't get it. That means it is not boring. I bought HM2 once, and played it constantly. I was addicted! Unfortunately, I lost it in a move, and I was drawn here by it's low price without the auctions on eBay. I plan on buying it again. It's that good. If you want a better knowledge of the game, and whether you should get it, try Ushi no Tane. Just search on google or something for Ushi no Tane, which is THE BEST Harvest Moon 2 site I have ever seen. You'll learn anything you need to know there.

The game teaches us how to be responsible and take care of things
(too bad there isn't a game on money saving!!!)

Great game, but a little too difficult

It's a great game, like all its predessors. The only problem I've seen is that it is a lot more difficult to make money from your crops. You also have to collect more grass to buy animals. I suggest you buy this game only if you are collecting them, otherwise, you should buy the title for the SNES, N64, Playstation, or PS2. This is because they have far more depth. Such as with the SNES version you can have around ten chickens, while on the gameboy edition you can only have four.

Really Good, But Not Perfect

This game is excellent! Like all the other AWESOME Harvest Moon games, you take care of animals, go to and enter festivals, and grow crops. I also think the mini games are cool, and I haven't seen them in the other versions, I especially like Whack-A-Mole. The only thing is that you can't get married, you need ALOT of money to get extensions for your farm, and you don't have a rucksack.. that's alot of running back and forth! This game is good, but I suggest you get Harvest Moon 3 for Game Boy Color instead, or one of the other versions for different game systems. Like my title, really good, but not perfect.

This games is okay. When you first get the game it is kind of fun but then it gets boring. You do the same thing everyday over and over again. There might be something new everyonce in a while but still it is really boring.

This is an amazing game to play. It's good for children at least 10 or 11. There are some complications, and the kids might not know how to play. It took me a while to ajust to the game, and I'm 13! It's almost like the PS version, but not as clear graphics. I think it's better than the PS versions, because of the gameshark codes. I have never used them, but Ii'm looking forward to renting it on Gameboy Color, and buying the Gameshark, not only for that certain game, but for all my other Gamboy Color games.

lots of fun

Ive played htis game last summer, almost everyday. I had other stuff to do, but i loveded it. It reminds me of THE SIMS, where u have a person run around and do your every bidding, but the farming part was cool. Its a good game to have.

Harvest Moon's great...

Harvest Moon 2 is a great game. You get the plant your crops in the pattern you want them to be in, fish, raise cows and sheep, and choose which new buildings (such as greenhouses, sheep and cow sheds, etc) to build if you have enough money from your produce. In town, there are some events you can participate in, but overall, you farm and farm and farm for money so that the mayor won't turn your farm into an amusement park after the period of time.

It's fun and all...you get to choose what crops for what season (there are seasons, you know) and breed or buy or sell cows and chickens and sheep.

However, after a while it starts to be become rather boring because that's all you seem to do: water and weed your fields, care for your animals, and fish for stuff for the market...that's why I rate it 3 stars.
