A bit tiresome but very rewarding

I'm an American but I happen to live in Japan, so I grabbed my chance to acquire Harvest Moon 2 before it was sold out to the gaming freaks of my present country. I fell in love with the first edition of Harvest Moon, and so was encouraged to get the second. It's very interesting. Animals are cute, lots of work do be done, events taking place, all you'd want of an RPG game. I strongly recommend this to someone who has lots of time on their hands.

Harvest Moon 2 is a great game. You get the plant your crops in the pattern you want them to be in, fish, raise cows and sheep, and choose which new buildings (such as greenhouses, sheep and cow sheds, etc) to build if you have enough money from your produce. In town, there are some events you can participate in, but overall, you farm and farm and farm for money so that the mayor won't turn your farm into an amusement park after the period of time.

It's fun and all...you get to choose what crops for what season (there are seasons, you know) and breed or buy or sell cows and chickens and sheep.

However, after a while it starts to be become rather boring because that's all you seem to do: water and weed your fields, care for your animals, and fish for stuff for the market...that's why I rate it 3 stars.

It's a great game, like all its predessors. The only problem I've seen is that it is a lot more difficult to make money from your crops. You also have to collect more grass to buy animals. I suggest you buy this game only if you are collecting them, otherwise, you should buy the title for the SNES, N64, Playstation, or PS2. This is because they have far more depth. Such as with the SNES version you can have around ten chickens, while on the gameboy edition you can only have four.

This game is so much fun, I can't put it down. I play all day long and it's still entertaining! I think I'm bordering on abseccion!!!!! My son loves it to... he never loses interest in it! The only reason I gave this game an overall of 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of dating. Other than that, this game is perfect!!! Hope you enjoy it to!

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT GAME. HOWEVER, I DON'T CONSIDER THIS A GAME. IT'S MORE OF A LESSON IN LIFE. IT TEACHES YOU, THAT YOU, MUST WORK HARD FOR ALL OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. LEARNING HOW TO FEND FOR YOURSELF. WORKING HARD NEVER HURT ANYONE. IT TEACHES YOU RESPONSIBLITY AND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO EARN A LIVING ON A FARM. TO BE YOUR OWN BOSS. IT PREPARES YOUNG PEOPLE FOR WHAT LIES AHEAD,AND TEACHES OLD PEOPLE LIKE ME, (I'M 53 YRS. OLD), THAT IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE AND START MY LIFE OVER IN A NEW DIRECTION. Ive played htis game last summer, almost everyday. I had other stuff to do, but i loveded it. It reminds me of THE SIMS, where u have a person run around and do your every bidding, but the farming part was cool. Its a good game to have.

I've found this to be a really fun game, but at sometimes, it's more trouble than it's worth, it's work instead of play sometimes. Most of the time I find myself trying to please my cows, all the while having to run everywhere I go just to get part of a days work in. Since there is only about 15 minutes a day, it's fairly difficult, but I think that it is worth while! However, even this game has it's rewards.

I am a woman in my thirties. I have never been interested in Gameboy Games. I happily sat out on the whole Pokemon craze. Then on Christmas day I picked up my neice's Gameboy and Harvest Moon2. From that day to this, we have fought over who gets to use the Gameboy and when and I'm very close to purchasing my own! This game is addictive!

This game is very exciting! You grow vegtables and you raise your animals. There's festivals you celebrate in the town. I recommend this game to everyone. It take lots of concentration.
