Being a big fan of the Nickelodeon Doug cartoon, I thought I'd give this a try. Luckily, I didn't pay for it. The game is based on the ABC show of Doug, but even though I hadn't really watched that version, I had no real trouble since I had so much knowledge of the past version. The one main problem with this game is that if you aren't that familiar with the show, you'll have a lot of trouble. Knowing where to go is based on where you would go if you were a character on the show. This is a minor setback to new watchers and those who don't pay that much attention when they watch. This could be overlooked if after finishing the game once, which takes about two hours, you were able to do something else. That's right, after finishing, the only thing you can do is play the exact same game you just finished. While the first two of maybe even three times it's not that big of a problem, you can only play the same game so many times before you get tired of it. This is a definate must-rent for any Doug fan because it isn't a half-bad game the first time you play it, but it definately isn't for everyone. No matter who you are, ddn't buy this game, rent it instead. If you really like playing the same adventure over and over, go ahead and add it to your shopping cart.

This is one of the most fun video games out there! There is more than one way to the beat the game, I have come acrossed atleast 10 different ways. I would recommed getting this! I am 12 and this game I still can't beat! And I have had it for 2 weeks! It is like thge show, the same caracters and everything! First you start out at the 4 leaf clover mall, doug's block, lucky duck park, downtown, or bebe bluff school. then you go around talking to people trying to find patti cause she was supposed to meet you and she didnt show up, you will talk to someone and they will ask you for help. you have no choice but to take it and in return they will help you find patti. after you get the job done you will face a foe as quailman. once you beat the foe you will get a password. then you will do that 2 more times until you have all 3 passwords. then you eventually find patti and she will tell you why she didnt show up. This game is the best and the age can range from 3-13, it is a really fun game! I really enjoyed it and I hope that you will too if you decide to buy it.

Too confusing for younger kids and too short

I love the show Doug (the old episodes on Nickeloden not those new ones) so I thought I'd love this Doug game. I did, until I beat the game, about a half hour after I first started playing. The game is played at a 3/4 overhead perspective like Zelda. You have to walk around Bluffington and accomplish tasks. All these tasks are are finding people and talking to them. After you accomplish a goal there is a fighting sequence where you are Quailman. These fights are simple and short yet are fusutrating as when you get hit you can't move for a few seconds. The problem with the main game is that, you are given very little help with what you need to do. For example, Bebe tells you to find something she doesn't have. How would you know where to go? I knew where to go because I've been watching the show for 10 years and figured out that you have to see Mr. Dink because he always has weird and expensive gadgets in the show. Someone who wouldn't put 2 and 2 together like I did would have a hard time figuring these puzzles out. Another problem is that once you beat the game, you'll know exactly what to do to beat the game again and the game can be beaten in ten minutes the second time through. And to make matters worse, you must be able to read to be able to play this game, there is not a lot of text but you have to read everything carefully to get any help whatsoever in where you need to go. Early readers will have trouble as well. I suggest that this game be played by anyone who is 7 to about age 12. If you buy the game for someone older than 12, the game will be over before it starts. I liked the design of the game, it's just a shame NewKidCo didn't make the game about 5 times as long as it is.

I got this game for my birthday. The only problem is that it is a one timer. It is only exiting the first time you play it.Then it will get boring. You do the same missions over and over. Not even a strong Doug fan would like this game.

Doug's Big Game is great if you are a fan of the show. If you aren't, it might be a little confusing. The object is to find Patty Mayonaise, who was supposed to meet you. You must go around the town and talk to people who will give you clues to where she is. Some of the clues are completely useless. Like when Skeeter says one of his shoes got thrown into the lake, he tells you to help him, that's all. If you don't watch the show, you wouldn't know that Mr. Dink has all the gadgets you need. Overall it is a fun game. The minigames are especially fun, although it would have been better if there had been more. I would recommend this game to anyone 7 or up.

A little too simple...

I am a big fan of Doug and the gang, but this game was simply too easy to conquer. Graphics are great, and the missions are simple...which makes it GREAT for younger kids who enjoy the show, but it is very easy to save Patty Mayonase - (I saved her in a matter of a weekend) Overall? Cute, but not challanging :)

It was an OK game.

The game is what you would expect from a tv show. It's nothing like "The Legend of Zelda". I wouldn't really recommend this game.
