when i saw this i thought it would be cool. then i played it and it seemed kinda boring in the begining, but i thought all games aren't the best in the begining. so i played, played, played, and played and it stunk! i don't get why you have guns when theres just people missing there bones. and also the controlls where the WORST and too hard to control. in a nutshell the game stunk, and i don't think you should get it.
I'm disapionted with this expansion.

I was really, really exicted about blue-shift when I heard in January, 2001 that it was coming out, I always wondered what it would be like to fight as a security guard.... I'm dispionted I
wasted my time and money for a game that wasn't nearly as good
as I was hoping it to be. I mean I like blue-shift and all, but
I think sierra, gearbox, and valve rushed and did a lousy job
on blue-shift. I ran blue-shift after installing the high definition content which came with the game itself, and I was impressed with the more smoother impressive graphical changes withen the characters and weapons in half-life-blue-shift. I ran blue-shift on my 350mhz intel pentium 2mmx, with the Nvdia tnt,
along with 128 megabytes of sdram, It ran great! yet....you see gordon freeman a few times, experience the diasters at the facility, save scientists, fight aliens, and go eventually to there world, fight marines, go to work, what's new. OH and
the worst part of all is:NO MULTIPLAYER! HOW CAN ANY HALF-LIFE GAME DO THAT!Blue-shift is dying for multiplayer! besides the point, I felt sorry for the game so I gave it 3 stars, just to be nice!

This is the first game from the Half Life series I bought so I cannot say anything about it being a great continouetion to the Half Life story. However, from the first moment the game made me not want to stop. It was something about the realism of it. I found the graphics to be great...
Otherwise the game is excellent. I'm guessing it will run perfectly on pentium 2 since it ran on a pentium @166 at an average of 10 fps.
Overall: 4/5
Graphics: 4/5
Sound: 2/5 (The voices of the people aren't that good even with the HD pack and you can't understand what they are saying)
Gameplay:5/5
*The overall score isnt' an average of the other scores. Gameplay is weighed the highest and sound the lowest.
Good game(s). Good Bargain. Good buy.

In this bundle you have HL: Blue Shift, a stand-alone version of HL: Opposing Force, and the HL High Definition upgrade pack, what more do you need? Half-Life is a great game, Opposing Force is a great expansion, the high definition pack has improved graphics, and although Blue Shift is short, it is worth playing. Having said that, all I ask is "where's the catch?"
HL BS is good.

HL BLUE SHIFT IS GOOD GAME. A drawback for this game is that it is very short compared to the other HL games. How ever, It makes up by adding OP Force, the first expansion for HL which is LONG GAME
Short, but sweet.

The only reason why I give it four stars is because of the length. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this game except the length. Most people would hate it because it's short. But they obviously don't see that opposing force is included and an HD pack which enhances the weapons and the characters. Plus the levels and voice acting are top notch. I found it rather interesting when the Gman just ignores you near the beginning of the game. Judging by what I wrote, why give this game four stars when it could have gotten five? I'll say it again: the length.

This game has the same feel as the first and OP but could they have made it any shorter. I finished the whole thing in less than 6 hours. I dont know about you but if I'm paying for a game I should get more use out of it that that!

This game is the best first person game since the original half-Life where you played the character 'Gordan Freeman'. In this game you play the character as a security officer and there are alot of malfuctions going on and u help out these officers by determining the problem. In this game Half-Life Blue Shift, i think that there is more interaction with other characters and objects within the game, you are able to interact with any security cameras. I have rated this game 5 stars because i think this is the best the best half-Life game made yet, since the original half-Life engine.

Okay I played the single player game with Barney in five hours straight. Was it worth $...$? Yea, just to get another fix of Half-Life. It was predictable, not very challenging, and the high definition graphics were no big deal. But I love the game. Should you buy it? If you can't get enough Half-Life than it's worth it. If the game is getting old for you--move on and spend you bucks elsewhere.
