Even when it first came out, Delta Force wasn't really a groundbreaking game. However, what it may have lacked in graphics and animation accuracy, it more than made up for in sheer joy of gameplay. Even though I no longer play it online, and play it in single-player mode with my 4-year-old son, we both find it incredibly enjoyable. The missions are difficult enough to provide suitable challenge, especially since, if you're not careful and wary, one single bullet can kill you - just like in real life. None of the ridiculous "hit point" meters and other nonsense like in other FPS-type games. However, the missions are also short and sweet - perfect for those like me who don't have the time to invest in hours-long missions of stealth like in Operation Flashpoint.
I also like this version of Delta Force because bullets from your machine gun are capable of destroying vehicles and helicopters. In subsequent versions of the game, you would be required to use a rocket or other explosive, when in real life, a fusillade of rounds can bring down a chopper just as surely as an anti-aircraft missle.
In short, this is just one of those all-time classic games. I recommend it with 5 stars.

I have loved this game since it first came out. It's very easy to control the character and it's challenging too, 'cause if you get hit just once, yer dead! My Godchildren also love this game and ask if they can play it everytime they come to visit. I purchased this copy for a computer I have built just for them, so they can play it at their own home whenever they want.

A great game for a great price. You get over the aged graphics by trying to keep yourself alive as you play the part of Blackhawk or whomever you wish to be for around 30 missions all over the world. The AI characters can be a bit stupid but they can also kill you if your not on your smarts.I played just fine with XP and a low end video card. It's similar to Operation Flashpoint but more fun. It's a play again game.
Delta Force, lacking some important stuff.

Delta Force is overall an acceptable game to my standards, but it has some low points to it.
PROS: -There are about 40 missions in Delta Force that take place all over the world
- Huge environments to move your soldier around in.
-Fun missions that include hostage rescue, raiding terrorist bases, finding a bomb, ambushing a convoy of vehicles and many others.
CONS: -Only about 5 or 6 total weapons which [stinks]badly.
-Cheesy and cartoony moans that enemies make when they are shot.
-The guns dont move around when u walk, no idle animations
-When u scope with a rifle, it doesnt go full screen, just a circle that pops up with crosshairs.
-Graphics engine is showing age bigtime.
OVERALL: DF is pretty good, but needs some work. Buy it, play it, forget about it. 3 stars total -Patrick (Remeber its just an opinion so dont get mad if u disagree.)
Great For Older Computers

This is really a fun game. I especially like using the 50-caliber sniper rifle from long distances. The foreign languages you hear from the enemy soldiers are cool and using a silencer on the 22 pistols is a blast. My computer is older and doesn't have the power for many of the newer games out there but it runs Delta Force just fine. So if you have an old Pentium 2 like me and want to skip the aggravation of running many of the newer games buy this one. ...
Very Entertaining - A good bargain buy

I recently bought this title at Wal-Mart while browsing through the computer game aisles, and impulsively picked it up since it was priced nicely at $9.99, compared to the more recent releases costing in the region of $50 or so.
This is turning out to be the best ten bucks I've spent in a while. I'm getting lots of playing time out of this and enjoying it immensely.
Anyhow, since this review will likely be read by those who have already played and enjoyed it too, I won't delve into too much detail about the game itself, except to say that it is an interesting first-person shooter. You are a Delta Force operator - one of the most elite military professionals in the world. You are sent on various anti-terrorism missions around the world and given a variety of weapons to accomplish your tasks. Unlike other FPS games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, in which you typically operate as a lone agent, in Delta Force you are usually teamed up with other Delta operators who converge on the target from other locations.
While the graphics are quite weak, it does not take too much away from the gameplay, and the game is very fun to play. However, the default weapons you are given on some missions are strange choices, and there are very few weapons included in the game to begin with. I understand that later versions employ more types, but I haven't had the opportunity yet to play those.
Novalogic put some realism into the game - you can actually hear the enemies shouting and determine which direction they're coming from, as well as the proximity and direction of incoming gunfire. When enemies are hit, they either scream loudly, mutter in a foreign language, or sometimes gurgle like blood is filling their lungs - pretty sickening if you ask me, but I also noticed that enemies die regardless of where you shoot them. I liked Goldeneye's feature that enemies shot in the arm clutched their arms in pain, but didn't usually die unless you hit them in the torso or head.
All in all, this is a great game and you won't tire of it for some time.

Delta Force. The elite US military counter-terrorism unit. The best game for PC (in military games)!!Delta Force is a counter terrorism game that takes place in exotic locations around the world. As a Delta Force member, you can choose from 5 primary weapons ( by the way this is a FPS!) They are the M82A1 Barret .50 caliber sniper rifle capable of killing over a mile away. The M40A1 sniper rifle, which is a medium range sniper rifle, the M4+M203+ 4 times scope assault rifle- the primary weapon in this game. And, if u want ot be silent, use the Heckler& Koch MP5SD3 silenced submachine gun.The terrorist AI in this game is okay, but sometimes it will take them 3 seconds to notice your there. I dont really care about this, because it give you time to hit them where it hurts (!!!) Also, the terrorists communicate with foreign langauge, so you can hear there conversations. This is the best military FPS for the PC!...

Graphics are a tade weak but this was made back in '98 so it is forgivable. If you decide to get this game you have to play the Multiplayer to get your money's worth, single player is too easy in parts.
Good game!!

Everything as advertised. I'm not a fan of shoot 'em up games that my son plays (age 16) but this game we've both enjoyed. The graphics are better than advertised, the game play is good and the animation(s) are above par.
I found that playing this game on the more difficult level more realistic. At least there is a chance of getting killed & thus you must use extreme caution, just as I would imagine the actual Delta Force would do.
You are rewarded with add'l missions as you complete each one, from captures to obtaining code books.
The arsenal of weapon's was more than I expected.
