The game it's scary and at some ponits very difficult (even in the easy difficulty mode). It has outstanding detailed graphics, music and sound effects. I'm both a horror movie and first person shooter fan and this is by far, the best game I've laid my hands on in a very long time.
Best Action Game Of All Time!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW Before I got this game I almost was certain It was Scary.
But After I got It I realized it was the scariest and best action game of all time I opened it up put it in the cd rom and installed it. After it was installed I clicked start and new game. I went to the easy setting of course I new I wouldn't get anywhere on nightmare mode. The first five minutes where bone chilling. I played it all night till I had no mental energy left. I still Was on the walk through still.Best visual and sound effects of any action game since Half Life(SIEERA GAME). I strongly recommened this game for people who absolutly love CREEPY shooters, and are dying for great effects.

If I would of known then what I know now about the game I would have waited. The game play, graphics, music are all really good. What is the best about the game is the story! Here is a suggestion for when playing: Do it in a DARK ROOM! Everytime I went to bed I was scared crazy just walking down my short, dark hall to the bedroom. The atmosphere it presents is truly awesome. How can you resist a Haunted house with creatures flying at you or popping up thru the floor boards? Or even running around in a mausoleum not knowing where to hide? Unfortunately the game dies off at the end and once you've played it you know what to expect. So replayability is kind of out the window. I tried starting another game recently and it still is as scary as ever. But the problem is I know whats going to happen in the storyline. Also the bosses are not too hard to get rid of. Just takes some practice and you got it down everytime you face one. So thats why I mentioned that at this price its not a bad game at all!
Excellent voyage, excellent game.

Once you start on it you cannot stop. Like a cross between doom, resident evil, and many other fantasy games. But Barker's story keeps it from being just another clone. Great fun and only play it in the dark.
Most FANTASTIC and scariest game I have EVER played

I have nothing but good things to say about this game! I am a Clive Barker fanatic, and waited on pins and needles for this to come out. I was not disappointed, in fact, it far exceeded my expectations! Imagine every single book, short story, play and painting to bare the name Barker all rolled into one, and then placed with vivid clarity and backed by haunting music before you. For example, traverse the realms of the Imajica and battle the Cenobites, only bigger and better and down-right meaner. Well worth every single penny and every single second you'll spend with your eyes glued to your monitor. Pump up the music, make sure you have enough ram and a great video and sound and game care, and you will NOT be disappointed!
Thank you Mr. Barker!
Simply the most original FPS so far.

Waiting for this game was a tough thing. When I first heard about the game (with Barker's contribution)I was so excited that counted days before its release. I was also a bit worried about the news that the game would include some rpg elements such as spells etc.How could a fps like this coexist with rpg basics ? But when the great day arrived all my fears gone away. It was more than I expected. Much more.
Undying is a classic fps and will always be remembered as one.
Reasons for that is simple. Firstly it has a great story which builds slowly throughout the game. Clive Barker did a wonderful job by setting the story in pastoral England with a chilling ghost story. The characters, npc's, enemies are very well made and exists along with the story rather nicely. The landscapes and closed places are very well made and graphics are excellent. The green British landscape, old victorian palace, ruins, dungeons and the floating alien landscape with Arabic/Middle eastern architecture etc are all remarkable. The creatures and enemies are also very unlikely. The eastern bandits, various evil creatures and strange beings from another dimension as well as the bosses (even they were all human once) are well designed and placed. The Uncanny atmosphere of the game is another thing. It is guaranteed that If you play it in a dark room at night , sure it will make you feel strange .
Aided by the great music and sound effects (especially the howlings)only a handful of games managed to get closer to undying. The rpg elements are very well balanced and adds to the playbility as well as games atmosphere. You use spells in this game like rpg's . But they are well constructed and most of the time used as lifesavers on difficult parts of the game when your classic weapons ( ye olde shotgun, 6 pack pistol, uncle molotov's favourite drink etc) are outgunned by the tough enemies. But the most interesting weapon is the sniper weapon on which I dont want to talk any further in order to keep it secret until you buy the game . The game has strange twists and turns and the ending is very interesting .But it does not end that easily, you have to sweat a lot since it is not easy and can be seen as a longish game. In sum , undying is an excellent game. It will make the fans of Barker to go and buy a computer after playing it just for a short period of time. Even gamers who dislike fps should give it a try, and lovers of horror genre will be obsessed by it.
Since the ending is suitable , all I can hope is a sequel.
This is a great horror game.

If you are a fan of horror games, scary movies or especially Clive Barker novels, then you will like this game. There are cool sound effects and the graphics are good also. It can get a little gory, so if you are sqeamish about blood, this game is not for you. There are 5 quests that you have to complete, with a boss character to defeat at the end of each one (I think - I have not completed the game yet.) You begin in a mansion and there are characters to interact with and the detail and amount of rooms in this mansion are incredible. I think this is a game worth the $40, for sure. Lots of hours of gameplay to complete this one.

i'll admit it, i bought this game because i looooooooove clive barker. i knew it would be worthwhile. it has been a good thing for me, but i have to say that i can only play for an hour at a time. this game scares the bejeezus out of me! the graphics are great, although i'm a little on the bloodthirsty side so i'm a bit disappointed that the critters just kind of crumple instead of being decapitated. but i am also not very far into the game, so maybe it will improve! i also have to say that i am not a serious gamer, so i use the cheats and i can't compare it to anything else because i have limited experience, but if you liked doom and alice, chances are you'll like undying as well. and unless you've a heart of stone, i wouldn't recommend playing this late at night when you are all alone!
Too scared to continue...

Have you ever been so scared while reading a book or playing a game that you had to stop the game or put down the book? Ummmm, me neither...but a friend of mine told me he had to stop playing Undying because he was too scared.
A classic First Person Shooter with minimal RPG elements. There is a plot with cinema sequences, but that is ancillary to the entire experience. The stars of the game are the clawed skeletal beasts who click their way in pursuit. Sometimes, in the darkness of caves, you can't see the enemies, but you can hear them.
If you want a one of a kind experience with great action, graphics, sound and control...BUY THIS GAME.
The scariest game ever!

I've been watching horror movies while my age was still one digit and i've played resident evil and all those spooky games but this one TAKES THE CAKE! For the full experience you need to use good headphones and turn out ALL the lights. Even the second time playing through it I still literally got goosebumps hearing Elizabeth's scream and seeing ghosts appear behind me while im facing a mirror. It's horribly terrifying in the most delightful way and I can only be thankful that people with as much imagination as Clive Barker and the people who worked in this game, have enough money to be able to come out with a great game like this. The best part is that the end sets itself up for a sequel! I can't wait!
