This is one of the most underrated, least known fighting games. And by far, one of the coolest fighting games ever!
The setting is a dark Barbarian land where the evil Demon-Lord Zarak (who you even get to play as!) rules the devastated land. He holds a tournament of champions to find out who the destined warrior to defeat him is. There are 8 candidates born under the Harvest Moon and one is the destined champion.
To name a few:
Korr: My favorite character. Musclebound, Conan the barbarian-type wielding a massive broadsword
Divada: Evil, seductive witch. Equally devastating with a bladed-staff as she is with the black arts.
Zorn: Axe wielding thief who is a slave to his own axe's lust for blood.
Bane: What is he? Half man half monster, raised by wolves. Devastating warhammer as his weapon of choice.
Jen Tai: Think Xena Warrior princess only hotter and meaner.
If you like Conan and Mortal Kombat this game is for you. Wicked, bloody combos and some gory finishing moves (they don't go as far as MK, it sticks to more pleasant finishing moves like decapitations, disembowlment and putting a hole in your opponents chest.)
Interesting story, cool fighting arenas, good play control, cool graphics, fun characters, good combos. A SuperNES cult classic! A GREAT GAME!!!!!
Great game!
