Finest Historical Simulation Game Ever Produced

Nobunaga's Ambition is what made KOEI the kingmaker of simulational rollplaying games. Since this game appeared during 80s, a number of different versions for almost all consoles have been produced applauded with huge sales success. So PS2 version will be sure to come characterized by excellent computer graphics and sounds. This game brings you back to the Civil War era mid 16th century Japan when dozens of warlords fought for territory. Iyeyasu known as the "Shogun" in that hollywood movie with the same title, finally unites Japan in 1603.

This game was initially produced to solve the famous historical "what if" question: If Nobunaga who was assasinated in 1582 had survived, could he have been united Japan? But as the game progressed that question turned to like this: can this warlord perished in early stage of unification game have any chance of unifying Japan, if so how could it have been done? Some player seek for shortest unification path, some might try with the weakest lord such as Ujizane Imagawa by showing off his ability as game player. Some try the chance of his/her folk historical hero as the unifier of Japan. Basic game strategy follows soon.

'Shogun: Total War' ( PC cd-rom)

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 5

1. 'Nobunaga's Ambition' (Koei 1989),2. 'Nobunaga's Ambition II'(Koei 1990),3. 'Lord of Darkness'(Koei 1994),and 4. 'Shingen the Ruler'(Hot-B 1989). Great game, storekeeper said is this it,'Na-bune-ga'? Fast paced and a map of 16th century Japan included in box. I,m sure a lot of people who play these Japanese history games probably watch a lot of Japanese historical drama (T.V. series) on the foreign channel, like 'Takeda Shingen'(39 episodes),'Maeda and Matsu'(40 episodes),'Nobunaga'(39 episodes),'Lady Kasuga'(39 episodes),and etc. Nevertheless,'Nobunaga's Ambition' is better than it's later successors, the other two later successor's were very slow, and never attacked you in your province. 'Nobunaga's Ambition' was very hostile in game play, which the other two successor games lacked.'Shingen the Ruler'(Hot-B) was very unique, graphics more superior, and hostile game play like 'Nobunaga's Ambition'. The 'new' classic now is 'Shogun: Total War'(PC cd-rom) and 'Shogun: Total War Warlord Edition'(PC cd-rom).
