Fighting games were, without question, one of the greatest things about the Super Nintendo. And in the mid nineties, when the Power Rangers were at an all-time high as far as popularity goes, Bandai released a Power Rangers fighting game! Read on for my review of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers - The Fighting Edition.
PROS:
-This game will greatly appeal to you if you're a Super Nintendo owner who likes both fighting games and the classic Power Rangers series.
-You can choose from good and bad guys alike.
CONS:
-Not enough characters. I would have liked it more if I could play as the individual Zords, not just the creations of their merging together. The only characters you can choose from are from the Thunderzord Saga, meaning none of the Ninja saga vehicles/characters are here.
-The control isn't that great.
-Ultimately this game seems like a poor man's version of Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (a Super Nintendo Gundam fighting game that was never released in America.)
OVERALL:
-If you like Power Rangers and/or fighting games, and you own a Super Nintendo, give this game a whirl. It ain't no masterpiece, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
