Treyarch took a great game like Spiderman 2 and made it even better with Spiderman 3.This game has a lot that spiderman 2 didn't like:
1)Swimming Thats right you can swim in the lakes and rivers and also the sewers.
2)Subways and Sewers in freeroam This is a major improvement over Spiderman 2 which didn't even have these in freeroam. This is part of the much bigger city that this game contains.
3)Better Random Crimes There is more of a variety you still have muggings, gang fights, and road rage missions but there is more variety and even with the missions you have to chase cars you don't bang on the car anymore you punch the guys hanging out of the window then you either stop the car by opening the trunk and distroying or webbing up the engine or tearing the doors off.
4)A bigger city overall Not only are the subways and sewers accesible but the city is far larger.Example Spiderman 2 had only 1 bridge Spiderman 3 has 6 however only 1 goes out to an island.Note:The ps2/wii has only 1 bridge but that version is very different from 360/ps3.
5)Graphics Spiderman looks better then he ever has before when playing on next gen as do buildings and other surroundings. There is also a lot more traffic and more detail in the people. As good as the graphics looked on spiderman 2 they look antimated compared to these.Sp 3 graphics look much more relistic.
6)Buildings are higher. The Empire State Building for example is higher then it is in Spidey 2.
7)Some Buildings are enterable in freeroam once you beat the story.
8)Skydiving There are several skydiving missions from several buildings one of which is the Empire State Building. These are fun and they show the beauty of the city when dropping from such high altitudes. Why you skydive there is an opera song with some unknown singer. It's appropiate for the skydive. The skydive missions are really pretty at night.
9)Bomb Tours Some of the story missions have it were you have to dismantle bombs but you can also do it in freeroam if you want to.These are fun challenges.
10)Gang fight challenges. At anytime when you get ready you can go clean up gangs and see how fast you can do it for rewards by pulling up the map and going to challenges. There are 3 gangs The Apokilipse,Candy Aresonic(Sexy Girl Gang)and The Dragontails(These are the toughest gang to fight.)
There are 10 missions in all and the bosses you fight are Calos The Madbomber Lizard,Scorpion,Rhino,Kingpin and Kraven as well as the movie villins Sandman,Venom and New Goblin. You also have the gang bosses which there are 3.In freeroam there is so much to do like random crimes, daily bugle missions etc.At some point in the game you aquire the black suit which is great. It features some moves that do more damage and the swinging is faster as well as the jumping. You eventually lose the black suit toward the end of the story but once you finish the game you get to play all the way thru again in the black suit. You also still have the red suit. You switch between the 2 in the characters menu. You have a second save point once beating the game. Also the Ps3 version will let you dowload the New Goblin. It's only 5.99 but he is fun to play around with in free roam and he can go higher then spiderman. He can actually go way over the highest buildings.Spiderman 3 has also added photomissions some of which you will do in the Daily Bugle and Dewolfe missions but also in the Lizard 1 and one of the Candy Aresonic Missions.Bruce Campell is still doing the narration and training.
Subway and Sewer Locations
These are hard to find when you first buy this game because they are not on the map. However you learn were they are by looking at buildings on the map close to the location.
First off The Conners Lab Sewer. This is the only sewer in freeroam but you can get to it from 2 locations. The first way is to go to the Garment District on the map.You will see a short fat building. There is a subway entrance behind it.Go down the subway and to the left.Take the stairs on the right down.Once in the train station turn right.Swing until you see a large hole in the wall on the Left side.Go in the hole and go all the way to the end and you see a manhole. You will be prompted to mash keys on your controller.Once you open it go down. You will see another hole go down it.Adjust your camera and run to the end of the platform. You can then jump off into the sewer and start swimming. If you swing or swim far enough you will come to the end and see 2 holes in the wall above. These lead to Conners Lab which you can enter. This sewer only features small waterfalls as opposed to the big sewer at Morningside Drive were the Lizard 2 and Conners 2 mission is which feature tha large waterfalls.Unfortuanly the Morningside Sewer is only available in storymode. Now from the Lincoln Subway the Conners sewer is on the Right side of the wall instead of the Left. The right side is where you'll find the hole in the wall at Lincoln but it goes to the same sewer.
Grand Cental Station Subway
This building is located between the Empire State Building and Christler Building and there is a tall building behind it.This is the only building that has a subway in it.The other subways are in the street.Look for the short wide building on the map with a tall one behind it.Grand Central is white. There is a door you enter.Go to every door till you find the one that opens.
Garment District Subway
On the map the short fat building. The subway is behind it.
Lincoln Subway
On the map you will see a short fat building behind Central City Park.Behind the building is the subway.
Lennox Subway
Behind and to the West of the Thoubourough Bridge. If you can't find it go on the bridge and come back down it looking to the left. You will see a building meeting the end of the bridge.Look straight left and you will see the subway.
Harlom Subway
You will see these buildings with green roofs. In front of the first one there is a subway at the street intersection.
City Hall Subway
You will see a industrial park with buildings in the grass. On the left side out from the grass there is a subway.
There are more but that's all I'll list.Once you know where to look on the map their easy to get to.If you can't find them you can always get to them from the Grand Central Station Subway. The subway itself is done well you can even enter the mens and womens restroom. Some of the womens restrooms have tokens in them. There are also tokens hidden in other parts of the subway. There are trains that run thru it as well as abandoned subways.
Notes of interest
The balloon, hospital, saving men from falling and rescuing people from a sinking boat are not in this game. You also can't catch a helicopter to gt to Liberty Island like you could with Spidey 2.
Once you beat the game twice you can't start another game unless you create a new profile.Once you start a new profile you can switch between your 2 profiles and play your saved black or red spidey or the new game on your other profile. There is no need to delete your saves.
The Cineractives are cool and once you get the bosses health down you do a cinematic which makes it look like your really watching the movie. They can be stressful thou because if you don't nail them you have to start over and if your health is low it you will die and have to start the whole mission over.
After beating the game go into the menu and the arenas section. There are several differnt locations you fight in.
Something I'd like to see in the next game are the Morning Side sewer in freeroam where you can open the manhole. An even bigger city with Coney Island and also a way to get to Liberty Island and the other 2 in this game. Also I was hoping to play as Venom in this game but you don't get to play as him.I hope this will be corrected in Spiderman 4.
I hope Sega will look at Spiderman 3 and do The Incredible Hulk game like this one.Imagine the Hulk being able to swim and go into subways and sewers.
I recommend this game as well as Spiderman 2.
My Spidey Sense is Tingling --- it's saying this is a great game!

Without a doubt, this game is fun simply because it's Spider-Man. Who doesn't love Spider-Man, despite it's somewhat over-hyped presence in pop culture? It's an enigmatic comic book figure, and has quadrupled in popularity since the debut of the action packed Spider-Man films.
Unfortunately, the game has a few flaws that can probably be attributed to the fact that they were trying to rush it's release in order to time it perfectly with the release of the Spider-Man 3 movie in theatres.
The web slinging controls are kind of complicated, and take a lot of getting used to. There are also bugs everywhere, which become very noticable at times when Spider-Man is attempting to climb a building or wall. Some of the voice acting becomes annoying pretty quickly. You'd think that with the budget this game must have had, it could have afforded to record a few different variations of the character's dialogue. If I have to hear Mary-Jane screech "Let's go higher!", or "I want to swing low" one more time, I'll go out of my mind.
Occasionally the camera becomes a worse enemy than the actual bad guys you're fighting. This is one of the bugs in the game, because sometimes the camera will just go crazy and do whatever it wants, making it very difficult to combat whatever villain you're engaged in at the moment.
Now on a more positive note, once you get used to the controls (which is always an initial challenge when beginning a new game, no matter how accomplished a gamer you are) the fighting sequences and combinations are actually pretty spectacular, and they make you feel like you really are Spider-Man, which is one of the best compliments a game like this could receive.
The graphics are phenomenal, which is expected, but it's truly a beautiful game. It has plenty of missions and challenges to choose from, and all in all has a very sandbox asthetic to it. You can roam around, choose your missions, fight the bad guys, and be wowed by the graphics and fighting combinations in the process. Despite some of it's flaws, this is a very engaging and entertaining game, and fans of Spider-Man (in addition to gamers everywhere) will not be disappointed.
Listen to your spidey sense, and give it a try. You'll have fun web-slinging your way around this city.

Simply put, this game is awesome! There is no other word to describe this. If you enjoyed Spider-Man 2 the game, imagine it multiplied by 100. The city is bigger, but that isn't the most impressive thing. You no longer have to get a certain amount of points to progress to the next chapter like you had to do in the second game. There are no chapters. Instead, you go to the map and choose which mission you want to do, and each mission is different but always involves saving people, and that is always fun. Also, there are times when crime will break out while you are swinging, and as Spider-Man, it is your job to stop it! All of these things makes the game last longer, and also makes it a little more real.
Needless to say, the graphics for the game are excellent. I don't know how they compare to other systems, but for X-Box 360, they beat any version of the previous Spider-Man games when it comes to what it looks like as well. The city looks beautiful and Spidey looks cool during the story and swinging through the streets. Which brings me to another different aspect to this game that is a cool addition. During parts of some stories, you actually get to act it out instead of just watching. You get to participate! This is done by pushing the A button, and the X for example during the fight sequences when it tells you to. If you mess up, no worries, it gives you as many chances as you need to finally get the timing and sequence right.
Overall, this game is just fun. From side missions such as defusing bombs or giving a ride to MJ through the city as she tells you how much she is having fun, this game just beats any other Spidey game so far. It has a lot to offer, and you will enjoy this game.
Major sad letdown

Where to start? The camera is awful its jerky and all over the place. The Textures are blocky on the characters except Spidey he looks great. The combat is button mashing frustration, or just plain boring, this game is a rushed , jumbled huge mess. Completely disappointing.
The aminmations are missing frames, the characters look like retarded people on drugs. Sure the Web swinging is well done but they had that down in the last game. The only reason it even gets two stars is some of the context added stuff(ala God Of War) where press certain buttons to complete a section of battle or a train ride.
It looks a little better than 2 but thats because its on next gen systems. Activision pushs out another me to license game thats not fun and very frustrating in parts. The building textures are blurry, this game was rushed to meet the movie deadline, if they fixed the cam, made the combat fun and upped the textures on all the other characters and buildings this game could have been ok, it stinks as is and I am returning my copy. Don't bother.
Dissapointment.

This game is more annoying than it is fun. Not because its hard , but because the camera is constantly bouncing off walls and violently shaking and the combat is definately not anything new or inventive. I think much older games like Jade Empire combat blows away Spidey-3. If you press the B button spidey can web an enemy also you can climb walls with the B button. Well guess what I pressed the B button to web an enemy while indoors and instead of spidey throwing a web at the enemy he wall walked on the side of a piano in the room?? Im like ah..no..I dont wanna wall walk this piano right now.Its just bad programming in so many ways. There is ZERO interaction with people and cars in this game. Spiderman might as well be a ghost as every single person in this game pays you absolutly no attention at all, that is of course unless your on a mission. Even when you land on the street , the car and driver dont even swerve or notice you. There's zero interaction. The entire city feels dead , almost depressing in a way. Games like Godfather,GTA,Crackdown all had interaction with nearly every person you walk by or bump into. But not Spiderman there is zero, zip, nada. I just got bored swinging around in a lifeless city. The only highlight in this game is Times Square at night, it looks pretty nice graphic wise. All in all S-3 doesnt have a polished next gen feel to it. I really wanted to like this game but I just cant get past some of the major flaws like the camera and the combat. But if you have children I think this game would be perfect for adolescent to young teens crowd. Worthy of Rent Only for me. PEACE

This Game is really fun! But Im annoyed why i it takes forever to get to the black spidey also the web swing is the same thing but more annoying because you can easily mess up with it! The storyline is nice but they could have made this game much better.

I could tell the minute that I started playing this game that it was not going to match up to the quality of the previous Spiderman movie tie in games. I feel that this game was rushed to meet the movie deadline. So many things could have been done to improve the game play. For intance, the camera angle was usually always bad, making it difficult to fight. The graphics would fade in and out along with the texture.
The fighting style of the game could have also been improved. I felt that this game didnt have any strategy to it, there were a few buttons to fight with, and when you were surrounded by a group of people you resorted to mashing every single one of them. Dont get me wrong, there were button combinations, but I never seeemed to have time to complete them.
Another thing that could have been improved was the random bugs in the game, there were a few missions I couldnt complete. I would just run over an object that I was supposed to pick up, and I would watch Spiderman run through them like they were not even there. I would also get involved in random crime sprees, and I wouldnt be able to avert the crime because one or more of the criminals would be stuck underground or inside a wall.
There are a few other things that could have been improved before the game hit the stores, but I feel that is enough ragging on the game. After all, it is Spiderman. It is time for the parts of the game that stood out. I enjoyed the swinging mechanism, watching the webline shoot out, and then tighten as Spiderman weight was applied to the line. I also thought that the blur created when Spiderman swung fast was also a nice touch.
I thought that the spider-sense was extremely helpful, allowing you to see enemies and allies or objectives at the touch of a button. I enjoyed almost all of the missions in the game, although they could have been a little longer. I wish that we had gotten to play as Venom, and I wish the level with New Goblin had been longer, allowing us to tinker around with his skills a little bit more.
I decided to give this game a medium rating, this game is fun for a bit, but then it seems to die down, or at least it did for me, with every little glitch that I experienced, I felt the game lost a little bit of its value. I have to say, that if you want a great Spiderman game, then this one is not for you. I feel that the Spiderman 2 movie tie in game was more fun, and more well done than this one. However, if you want to expoerience the swinging mechanism in the game, as well as some of the interesting missions, then you just might like it.

With the huge success of the first two Spider-Man movie tie-in games, it was pretty obvious that there was going to be a third one thrown in there for good measure. Much like a lot of movie tie-in games, however, Spider-Man 3 feels a bit incomplete in some areas, and just all around lacks in others. That's not to say there's nothing good about the game because it certainly has its perks. The problem is that there's not a whole lot here to warrant the game a buy.
As with the first two Spider-Man games before it, Spider-Man 3 doesn't really follow the movie all that well. It's loosely based on the movie. You've got the Sandman, Venom and the new Goblin to worry about, but the game also throws in other villains like the Lizard, Scorpion and Kingpin. Villains that weren't featured in the movie and here they come across as space-filling just to make the game longer. That doesn't really matter anyway as the game tries to follow the plot of the film AND work in these new villains. It makes the games storyline come off as quite a sloppy mess. The game's story is also carried by some rather likeluster and lifeless voice acting too, which is sad because they used the cast of the movie (save for Kirsten Dunst). I guess voice acting is far different from acting because a lot of the time you just don't get the sense that any of the cast really cared about the game.
The gameplay is pretty similar to Spider-Man 2. You roam around the city by webswinging and looking for things to do. No matter what anyone says, webswinging in Spider-Man 2 was fun. In Spider-Man 3 it's still fun because it doesn't come off too different from its predecessor. So you can swing and zip around New York all you want. It's actually quite fun to explore the city itself as it's given some great detail along the way. And as you explore you'll also find little random crimes that you can stop. There's really nothing rewarding from them, and some of them are just not all that thrilling, but the fact that it's there is kind of neat.
As you roam around New York you'll find icons that allow you to initiate missions and sidequests throughout the game. Most of the missions aren't anything too surprisingly difficult. Most of these missions are run-of-the-mill Super Hero business like saving people from burning buildings or stopping robbers. Things like that. The story based missions alone can keep you busy for a while, but the game itself really isn't all that long to begin with.
Some of the missions and sidequests can be grueling, though, because combat feels a little off. It's the same button mashing experience as the last couple of games, so if you've played them, you'll feel quite at home here. The problem is some of the games adversaries you come up against use some unreasonably cheap methods to taking you down, and they can drop your health fast. This forces you yourself to use some unreasonably cheap methods as well and unfortunately it makes the game less fun to fight in because of it. You can build up combat abilities, but a lot of the time you're reduced to using cheap tricks to deal with your foes that the combat abilities really just don't matter because you won't find yourself using them. Bosses especially can be unforgiving, especially because some of them ensure that before you can start dropping their health, you've got to accomplish something else first.
There are also some mini-games that take place during some missions, that usually require you to do a series of button presses or analog movements. These sequences aren't really bad, but they're not good either. Especially because a lot of the time they explain what you have to be doing WHILE you're supposed to be doing it. You'll often fail the first time just because you had to read the directions before proceeding. But when you start... you've already lost. It would've been nice if the game paused or something first. Luckily, if you do manage to fail one of these sequences you're not penalized. When you begin again you're usually right there where it took place.
The camera is probably the biggest problem of all facing this game. It's too jerky and all over the place and often shifts inappropriately. Especially during a lot of the action. You'll spend a lot of time fighting with the camera and readjusting it.
Graphically, Spider-Man 3 is almost state-of-the-art for a movie tie in. That is to say there are bugs and glitches found within the game. The overall presentation isn't bad in terms of what you see. But the technical stuff is definitely annoying sometimes. Enemies being trapped inside walls or having invisible objects in their way. It's another case of a game rushed out to meet the release date of the film. It's nice that New York looks beautiful at least and even Spider Man looks good, but a lot of the other character models don't. The games cutscenes are also drab looking as well. After giving New York so much detail, one has to wonder why they didn't give the rest of the game some detail. Again, one may assume it was because it was rushed to meet the release of the film.
Spider-Man 3 isn't a bad game, really. It just feels rushed and underdeveloped. It's the curse of movie tie-in games. I'm sure some hardcore Spider-Man fans will have some fun with this, but most other gamers probably won't stick around too long for this one.
Pros:
+New York City Looks Great!
+Webswinging is still a lot of fun
+A wide variety of missions and optional things to do
Cons:
-Combat could use some work
-New York looks great... but why doesn't the rest of the game?
-A few technical glitches
-Awful camera
-The voice work is just dull
-As with the other games, the story doesn't really follow the film all that well, and with the new stuff thrown in it just feels like a mess sometimes
Okay stick with the first Spider man.

Okay first let me say that this game is wayyyyyyyy to long too many petty theif missions and the whole Lizard thing and the dewolfe it's stupid. Not to mention that every single flipping mission is impossible to do you have to run around chase everything you see and catch people and defend stupid innocent by standers and stupid stuff. The boss battles are as dumb as the missions why in the world would they make a boss battle where you have to fight more cronies and get your but whopped. If I wanted to get my but kicked I would play a fighting game. I thought Spider-Man was supposed to be strong and fast and stuff and the whole spider sense is the dumbest thing ever,Oh and the whole button thing is retarded it's like they seen God of War and thought hey I have an idea let's do that as well. It works for God of War not for Spider-Man. If you think your getting money's worth from this game then God speed cause you will stop playing after a while and you have to trade it in. Invest in the first one it's the best game so far Activison needs to get their act together.
Your all morons!
