This Game Is A Fantastic Mix Of Halo and Counter-strike type combat.
This Is The first game to be able to play against other platforms.
Before a match you get a set amount of cash and you can use it to buy either magic techniques or weapons. Some Magic consists of heat vision where you can see through walls, teleportation, wired reflexes where you can get fast enough to where you can dodge sniper bullets. I think this is more of a ' BUY ' game than a ' RENT ' game, so have fun!

Well the RPG is rather minimal. You don't go on quests and get more powerful... instead the hook here is the ability to buy your choice of weapons, magic or tech (equipment/enhancements). The more poeple you kill/damage each round, the more money you'll get to buy stuff at the beginning of the next match. You then get to assign the items you bought to 1 of 3 available slots. You can also buy more then you can equipment, and switch it around whenever you please. There are 4 races to pick from. human, elf, dwarf and troll. each has advantages unique to them. my only real gripe with this game is the fact that for being multiplayer only, there is a lack of variety. there simple is just 2 versions of "capture the flag" and a team deathmatch. hopefully there will be some downloadable content in the near future that will add to this. its also worth noting that it is very hard the first couple times you play until you realize what items you want and where you want to equip them... but once you finally do get the hang of it and get a system going, its very fun.

I bought this game on a whim and i am so glad i did. This game is sheer fun. I played this game for 8 hours straight on xbox live when i first popped it in. It is rather innovative as an FPS, it has magic skills to choose from as well as different races with different abilites. If i had to compare this game to anything it would be counterstrike meets unreal tournament with a hint of heretic (in terms of magic). There is no story mode in the game for anyone without xbox live but you can play againt bots. Basicly if you like fps type games and you have xbox live then this is the game to get.
Not an RPG (sigh) - still a great game

I'm a fan of the original Sr video games (SNes and Gen), and when this was announced I was completely against the change in genre. Lo and behold - the game is great. Of course, I knew when I bought it what it was - an online multiplayer, not a single player game (do your research people - the game's not free).
The more you play, the more depth you will feel - character builds offer great flexibility, with each race/tech/magic-ability adding different tactical advantages and disadvantages. The maps are well designed to make the most out of the abilities (teleporting and gliding open entirely new strategic spots, while strangle somehow doesn't lose it's efficiency even with these powers), and the races are generally well balanced - with the exception of the elves... who have that Halo regeneration power.
The one problem is playing with run and gunners. For the moment (this is only a week after launch), Live still has some playing. They'll get bored soon enough.
If you do happen to pick it up - be prepared to spend some time with it (one reviewer gave it a single star after 20 minutes - that's about 3 rounds). And realize that lack of a single player mode - hate to emphasize it again, but some people just don't get it... and that would destroy the initial experience for all of ya'.

whoever gave this game a bad review because there is no solo campaign is just dumb. they obviously didn't look into the game enough before they bought it. not sure why you would buy a 60$ game without knowing anything about it unless you had a lot of money to play with. Yes, the game doesn't have a solo campaign. does that really matter? NO. look at Halo 2. Fantastic game, yes it has campaign, but who plays it? you beat it once maybe a few times but the majority of people still play the game ONLY because of its online awesomeness. this game is fantastic online and couldn't be any better even with a campaign. some kids are just ridiculous. but yeah bottom line is that this game is awesome online if you have live or windows vista you should definately buy this game
Amazing Game

People keep complaing that this game dosent match up to its RPG counterpart... SO WHAT. Most people have never heard of Shadowrun before and aren't going to instantly judge based on the differences.
For those of you with open and willing minds... This game is spectacular, I was extremely impressed with its multiplayer and found the uniqe abilities fun and awesome to use (even if there is only 3 slots to put them in ):). Those of you looking for a story mode, keep in mind, THERE ISINT ONE. I see this as no hinderance to the game at all. Even if you don't have live the AIs have some sense of strategy and are very fun to play and train with. The levels are varied and fun, and playing with 16 players keeps the game alive and fun.
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY SHADOWRUN RPG FANS REVIEWS, THIS GAME IS AMAZING IF YOU GO IN WITHOUT AN RPG HOPEFULNESS.
I highly recomend this game to anyone who likes multiplayer (OVER LIVE OR WITH AIs)
The only bad thing about this game is it dosen't have split screen (whick SUCKS), but thats ok, I play over live anyway.
It's a multiplayer FPS -- and it is good.

This game was marketed as a multi-player game only. It is just that. If you like first person shooters online, against real people, you will like this game. If you want to buy a game that has a story and a campaign... don't buy Shadowrun.
I recommend this game to anyone who likes high levels of online competition. Its a brilliant FPS that incorporates new strategies with the ability to customize your character at the start of each round.

I love this game and I must say I am confused about the reviews. If you like FPS type games you will love this one. Guns and Magic. Elves and Trolls. I am addictive most fun I have had on the 360. Graphics are not Gear of Wars quality but the gameplay is a blast.
If you don't know if you will like it rent it and try it out for a week!

First off, the people who are giving this one star because it lacks a campaign, you should have known that before you even bought the game. People who are mad about the change from an RPG, there are enough RPGs out there already for you to choose from. I would say that if you don't have Xbox Live, don't get this game. But, if you do, BUY THIS GAME!
Great Fun
