Really fun game and I liked the fact that even though your an evil overlord they still let you choose to be good a lot. I would have to say it has an average replay value but they get kudos for just how fun and humorous it is.

Fun Game, but not Great

This game was a lot of fun to play, it is a little deceptive at first because its cartoon style makes it appear juvenile, but the content and gameplay is probably more suited for teen and older.
The games puzzles aren't so hard that they distract from the gameplay, but they can be tedious and annoying. The gameplay is pretty fun, the combat style is a little different from most games of the genre, which keeps it interesting for a while.
Overall, its a fun game, but it can be pretty silly. If cartoonish images and silly dialogue try your patience then I wouldn't reccomend it.

Good Game - Fun

It's a good game - game me 20 hrs of fun.

It is not a serious game however, and content is pretty limited too. You play through a bunch of tasks one by one and that's about it. Navigating the maps was a bit of a headache - there is no map, you just walk around.

The content of the game was pretty limited too. I feel they could have added more fun content to the game, specially near the end of the game.

The controls are pretty simple and in general game was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend buying it.

Initially fun, but lost its charm

A friend of mine had this game and I played at his house for a couple hours and found it extremely entertaining. I bought the game and played it pretty solidly for one weekend, logging somewhere between 12-16 hours of gameplay. From what I've heard, I think I was about halfway through the game when I tired of it.

Initially this game is really funny, but there's a limit to how many times I can hear one of the little minions say "for you master" or watch them destroy the same farmhouse and still chuckle. If you're a Lord of the Rings fan you might enjoy this game because it basically spoofs the entire thing from the evil side. You have hobbits who do nothing but drink and eat, elves who whine about their forest, and stereotypical drawves.

Gameplay is not horrible, but I often found myself frustrated once I unlocked all 4 types of minions. You have to control each of them one at a time, and while you can post a group in one place at a time and then move on to the next, I often found myself to preoccuppied with my own fights to concentrate on all the different minion groups, and hence some of them died over and over again. This can be frustrating because besides the initial type of mininion you have to go to special worlds to get them, which consumes a lot of time--especially if you're trying to rack up hundreds of a rare type of minion soul to make your armour really good.

That all might not make a lot of sense if you haven't played the game, but my overall advice is too rent first before buying--unless it's onsale for under 40.

Just plain fun.

This game is quite a bit of fun considering it had little to no hype. That being said, I couldn't rate it very high without lying to myself about parts of the game clearly take from others. The game play is taken right out of Pikmin, but I personally find it to be more enjoyable than Pikmin, just as other will like Pikmin more than this. In my opinion the controls are more streamlined and easier to use than those from Pikmin, making the game a whole lot more enjoyable. As for the visuals and Audio, it all looks and sounds like it was ripped right from Fable for the original Xbox. Although the graphics are a bit shinier than those of Fable's, with a stronger frame rate. The twist to this game that I find refreshing is that you're evil, you can't choose sides between good and evil, you're just plain evil. The goblins that do your bidding are fantastic, and its fun just to watch them run through a town destroying everything in sight, then bringing you treasure and exclaiming "For you! My lord!". The humor is off and on, sometimes I found it to be pretty funny, and at other times I was wondering if it was written by toddlers. Overall I would say at least give the game a try, you may have an enjoyable time with it. Just don't expect anything truly innovative.

Fun...but lacking....

The game is good. It has alot of customizable elements that make you get into the mode of "just one more level" that plagues all serious gamers.

What makes is fun is that you can loot and pillage with an army of underlings until your heart's content. You can build and upgrade your castle and own effects as you gain certain levels, equipment, and most importantly...gold.

The problem is that 90% of the upgrades to your castle do nothing. They're just asthetic value. And until you get the final forge, your weaponry is pretty worthless against some foes. And forget about harvesting the maximum amount of goblins, because that takes for-ev-er.
