Fabulous shooting game for the SNES. However, you must have the SuperScope (similar to the NES Zapper light gun, but it's shaped like a bazooka) in order to play this. Best light gun game since Duck Hunt.

New Systems Can't Touch the SNES Gold

If you have a SNES you should get a Super Scope, Super Scope 6, and this game (Battle Clash). IF you haven't touched that SNES, you shoudl dust it off. Because, if you're like me, I got a SNES when I was 5 and never touched it because the games were'nt entertaining at that age because I was young. Now I'm 14 and play SNES and I'm even buying games for it because now I understand games and they're better than N64 (N64 was about the worst system that ever made it). I'm getting a Game Cube because I prefer Nintendo. Enough about that... Here's why you should get this game:
Graphics: 8/10 Really good games for it's time
Sound: 7/10 Nothing special but the music and SFX serve their purpose well
Story: 7/10 Actually a good story for a shooting game; only problem is you learn good skills very fast and yu wing through teh first bosses; But, later on you'll play some bosses for weeks 'till you figure out what you need to do to win.
Kids: OK for kids just it'll be very challenging
Overall: 7/10 There's better on the SNES but this is about the best shooting game I ever played. Definently worth the play!

This game is classic, and well worth your purchase. Of course you need the Super Scope to play it, but still worth your time. Hard to get the hang of the scope at first. Game is really fun, I like how you can blow parts of the enemy robots off during the fights. Music is good too, as are the graphics. Good game.

ESSENTIALLY A FIGHTING GAME WITH MECHS 8.5 OUT OF 10

Battle Clash is one of those games that uses the long-forgotten Super Scope gun. This game is really fun, although not quite as fun as the classic X-Zone that also uses this device.
WHAT THE GAME IS: Set in a post-apocalyptic world in which you defeat the powerful chiefs who rule over the ruins of different countries, and you must fight their mechs with your mech to become the ultimate chief. So think of this game as Street Fighter II with robots and laser guns.
GRAPHICS: Could have been better, but what's here is fine. The environments look pretty good and feel inspired.
MUSIC: Sets the mood during a battle, and is fairly well-done, but it feels like it use a little more spice to it.
GAMEPLAY: The controls work fine on the Scope Gun, you basically wait until your laser charges and then shoot the enemy. This may sound overly simplistic and would most certainly make this game awful, but it really isn't and can be quite challenging in certain areas. But be warned, you will get sore from having your head bent over too long aiming the Scope Gun.
OVERALL: The gameplay works well, and there is not much wrong with it. However the flaws are some bland graphics, the music needs some work, and the game can be completed in approximately a half hour. But these flaws are easily eclipsed by the great gameplay and awesome bosses you must face. Easily recommendable to any SNES enthusiast. I would have to disagree with the other reviewers about how this game eclipses most of the SNES library. The SNES has many games that can beat this one, and are indeed more recommendable, especially other shooters, but this game is overall well polished and a lot of fun.
THE GOOD: Fun, mech-fighting gameplay and nice environments, a fairly decent difficulty level, and the Scope Gun works great.
THE BAD: The game feels a little short, the graphics and music could be polished to perfection.
