Great game: must have for XB360 owners

Like the title says, this is a great game. It is an RTS (real time
strategy) that plays well on a console. The single player campaign is worthwhile and keeps the player very interested. There is a good campaign where you fight using the elves, dwarves, and men, and you can fight using goblins, uruks, and other members of Sauron's army in the evil campaign. Multiplayer on Xbox Live has 4 modes of gameplay which are all fun. It is easy to create a game for someone to join or you can join in another game. LOTR BFME II has overall good graphics, sound, and value. If you have ever played Age of Mythology for PC, you'll probably like this game. Every XB 360 should go to the store and get Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2.

this is a solid rts game. some people that have not played them on the pc may not be used to it because it is a different type of game. It requires stratagy. This game is a lot of fun i just got it and played it for about 4 hours. I highly reccomend that you add this to your xbox 360 library

A true gamer can tell if he/she likes the game by the end of the first level of the game. I must say that I am very dissappointed. The A. I. of the units are stupid. You can order a unit to go attack to a certain spot, and lets say that they are done roaming to a certain spot, a enemy such as archers can shoot them, and your units will just stand there and not attack until you order them to, meaning you have to babysit your units or they could possibly die without even defeating anything.
It takes way to long to gather resources. I build like 10 farms or more and my money accumulates very slow, so you are waiting for that be4 you can build anything else.
Best thing I like about the game is how you can customize a Hero, but even that is not so great.... You are extremely limited to what the Hero powers can do and also what he looks like. It would be better if they would allow for you to customize a hero with more options, meaning you can play with the hero in a actual campaign, you could acquire more attributes to build your hero's attributes, meaning if you beat a level, you get 2 attributes to add to your hero and move his/her armor, health, etc to more notches.
I am just overrall disappointed with the game and will probably not even try to beat the game, ,but just mess around in skirmish mode and just play with my hero that i created that has limited options............

My Grandson would give you a much better review on this. He said it was the best. The game was different from the ones he usually played.

This game has good graphics and gameplay but I was overall disappointed. After the first couple of levels the game just seems very repetitive. I actually quite playing it because it became boring. I love strategy games and this one misses the mark. If you are looking for a quick playing strategy with no strategy needed, this is the game for you.

This LOTR game is a really cool 360 game. It has two campaigns, a good one and an evil one, as well as skirmish battles where you set up the game and duke it out with computer players. The plot of the good campaign is what happens with the Elven and Dwarven armies while Frodo and the Fellowship are tring to destroy the One Ring. I've commanded over a thousand soldiers and you can command Trolls, Orcs, Goblins, Elves, Dwarves, Men, Wargs, Giant eagles, and Fellbeast. You can even recruit and command the many Heroes such as Gimli, Aragorn, and King Theoden. Online play on XBox live is pretty fun, too, combating against other people in a game of up to 4 players. You could spend hours having fun with this game. You choose your strategy: build up your defenses and army first and then attack with all mighty force or procede sraight from the beggining with devastating geurilla-warfare - ambush attacks with small but many groups of soilders. It's your chance to command all of Middle Earth and rule the world of the great Lord of the Rings!
Pretty good

The Bad;
"What the heck am I supposed to do?" That was the first thing I thought.
It took 30 minutes just to figure out how it worked!
The Good;
The graphics are very good and when I finally figured the controls out, it was a pretty good buy. I love making enourmous armies in evil campaign!
The Ugly;
The swords! When they fight, they miss and the opponents still die!
Good game

Great game! I have a lot of fun on it even if I lose to the strategy of my opponent. It is sort of addicting especially to someone that loves the books/movies of Lord of the Rings.

This game plays out like Civilization 3. You control groups of peasants, troops, hero's, and other beasts as you build, destroy, plunder, and conquer your way across various maps. It's all top-down view and some of the controls feel... awkward with the 360 controller. I'm not saying that any other console controller would feel better, but I think this game should have been left for play on the PC with the use of the Mouse and Keyboard.
I was hoping this game would play out more like the older LOTR games for (original)Xbox. That 3rd person view made for lots of fun as you commanded your character through harrowing tasks. I was really looking forward to bringing that style of play to life with the great graphics of the 360. Not so... Boo urns...
