A must have game. Even if your not a fan.

Excellent graphics and audio on N64. Can be challenging at times but eventually successful in all missions. The game becomes tougher the more missions you accomplish. You can go back to previous missions, but you can not go forward to the next, until you complete the previous ones. Some eye strain and G-force dizziness may occur over excessive playing time. Still, it a great game and long overdue from the Star Wars LucasArts etc. Try it you'll love it. END

Hard...yet easy!

This game is absolutely awesome! I played it once and was stuck playing for four hours; Which is very unlike me. The required components are pretty high. (For me anyway) and It takes some money to get them if you don't have them. Also, it's a semi-hard game and I can't get past most levels without the cheat codes entered. But the music, incredible graphics, and overall fun of the game more than make up for the complications. My opinion? GET THIS GAME!!! It's an absolute must for people that love gaming. You don't even have to be a Star Wars fan!

Simply an arcade blast-em

The graphics and sound are very good. Terrific in fact. And that's what saves this from oblivion. Being able to replay missions using other craft is a very good and extends the life of the software because each craft has its strengths and weeknesses. BUT...it's all the same. You simply blast at anything and everything that shows up red in your radar. I don't know, perhaps I've been spoiled by playing too much Age of Empires so I expect more from other games. I'd love to be able to create my own landscapes and create my own missions. I'd like to see multi-player play. I'd like to have practice levels, outside of the dedicated mission levels where I could just ride around in some of the craft on various planets shooting at bad guys without a dictated mission to worry about.

Sometimes in the middle of playing, the game simply stops and says "Mission Failed" without telling you why. Did I run out of time? Did my convoy get destroyed? What? And when the "Game Over" appears, it should realize that I'm more than likely going to play again, but it takes me back all the way to the opening screens, so starting over takes much longer than it should. I ought to be able to jump right back into playing.

After you get used to the eye-candy graphics, be prepared to be bored by this game.

Keeps crashing, and it's not my piloting

My computer has a vodoo 2000 and 96 megs of ram, yet this game crashes constantly. I was running alliancer with only 32 megs and the 4 meg video card that came with my Pc without this many lockups. Aside from that it's not a BAD game, alliance, Tie fighter and X-wing were all better, and I eagerly await starfighter for a good game with real strategy. And what is it with this game changing views on you randomly, like with the tow rope. It's like lucasarts is trying to be like microsoft and "decide" what you want.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

This game is excellent, with a few exceptions. The first exception is the fact that despite the fact that there are 15 regular missions, not one of them is set in space. Every mission is set within the confines of a planet, be it in the upper atmosphere or skimming the surface. This isn't a crippling disadvantage, except some people like fighting in space. Ideally, this game would have both space and surface fighting. Another bad point is the lack of diversity in opponents. There are basically 6 enemies you'll run into - TIE Bombers, Fighters, Interceptors, Stormtroopers, Missile and Laser turrets. Thats basically it for opponents. Not that that is bad at all, it just gets boring after a while. Other then this, this game is excellent in all respects. A definate must have for any hardcore Star Wars fan.

THE best simulator game for Star Wars. I just can't stop playing it. The levels are pretty easy to begin with and then they get harder. I like the challenge.

The music is a bit corny. And some of the sound effects aren't too great. But others wise...It's an excellent game!

*THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!

If you are used to the top cockpit simulation games (such as the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games and Mechwarrior 3 and 4), then this game will be a bit of a disappointment. The controls are simplistic, particluarly compared to the awesome X-Wing Alliance. The graphics are just ok, and the gameplay is more akin to a arcade shooter than a real PC sim.

If you are looking for a game that will give you the thrill of flying an X-Wing (or a Y-Wing, an A-Wing, a B-Wing, or even the Millenium Falcon) then buy X-Wing Alliance, or the classic X-Wing and Tie Fighter games.

hooking, fun game

Rogue squadron is one of my favorite flight simulation games. It has a bunch of levels that are not only hard, but can take a long time. I don't like how the game is put together with the computer version. I like the N64 version better. The controls are exelent on this game and the realism is fantastic. I highly reccomend a joystick, though, or the game will be dificult to control and use. I hope you find this useful.

THE COOLEST GAME EVER!

OK, WHEN I FIRST SAT DOWN TO PLAY THIS GAME I HAD SO MUCH FUN. BUT THERE ARE SO CONFUSING PARTS BUT I GOT THROUGHT THEM. THE GAME IS FULL OF GREAT GRAPHICS. YOU GET TO PIC YOUR OWN DROID THAT IS WHAT IS ENJOYED BUT AS YOU PROGRESS IN THE GAME YOU HAVE TO PIC A DROID THAT THE GAME HAS SPECIFIED FOR YOU. ANOTHER GOOD THING ABOUT THE GAME IS YOU GET AIR TO AIR COMBAT WHICH IS SO COOL, AND IT'S NOT LIKE THEY ARE BARELY COMING AT YOU BECAUSE THEY ARE. I YSELF GOT SHOT DOWN SO MANY TIMES BUT OVERALL THE GAME IS GREAT AND THAT IS WHY I GAVE IT FIVE STARS.
