Risk is kinda fun, but they didn't need the gulliontine shot at the end. This version is not for kids under 18 in my mind. If you can handle the idea of beheading the enemy at the end of every game, this game's for you. Otherwise, go buy another version. Ratings are pretty weak on most violent video games. My back cover says 9 to 49. I think this is because anyone over 49 was raised with values, and they wouldn't like the killing part that was added on to the game. Try Risk II. I don't have that one.

Risk is about a large world war, were you pick what kind of game you want and even play online. It's fun, but you can get really ... at anything your fighting when the computers are taking over your countries like hungry people eating turkey. You can pick what kind of map you want, there is 4, World, Classic, Europain, and North America. I think they put way to much pieces of land in North America and Europain, but thats what I think. You can just like in Clue pick what dice you want, Classic Dice or Ultimate Dice, I go for the classic dice.
Computers are too hard, I try and play like 5 games and I lost all of them first or second in place, even on easy. The flags ..., they need some reasonable flags to play with because I can only tell like 3 out of the 6 countries, all the others mysterious. You can play American rules or Europe Rules, I prefer Europe rules. If you lose, they show the same thing, your head getting chopped off, and to every computer and player! The winner gets a last scene special, which is cool because it's different. But you think they could call the countries your facing and you your name, they just go on what color you are.

This game is awesome and one-hundred times better than the board game. However, i found to major problems with it. #1 You can not save because the company shipped it out wrong. (there is a way to fix that its just hard to explain). and #2 It wont work on new computers. I just got a brand new flat screen and my favorite game RISK wouldnt work. Maybe its just the computer but whatever. I love this game and thats all.
Amazing for an old game- AWESOME even compared to newer game

Its an awesome game for its price, and age... You get all these cool maps to chose from and theirs Ultimate risk, where you chose how you're going to attack (attack rightflank, defend rightflank, etc..) and if you have a general, you can choose even cooler options (ambushes, etc.) and if two generals match up, you get a animation of the battle as it progresses..way cool... in the end a MUST GET, even though it is an old game... you dont feel it one bit

In response to the reviewer who was unable to save his/her games:
1. Click Start then Run.
2. In the box, type C:\Program Files\Risk\Savegame This should open an Explorer window.
3. Click the Edit menu
4. Click Select All
5. Click File
6. Click Properties
7. Uncheck Read Only

This is by far the best Risk game ever made on PC. With 4 different maps (Europe, Asia, America, and World its much more fun than a regular Risk game or Risk II. The Ultimate setting is very fun to play on, with the abulity to hire Generals, build Forts, and deal with weather conditions. Risk II is nothing like this game because there is only one map and nothing nearly as involved as Ultimate Risk. I would definitely recommend this game over all others. It is also quite cheap, so your getting a game 5 times better for half the price.
Ok game

It's all right. It is a good RISK simulation. If you love the board game this is a must have. The 3-D battles were fun and the game never gets repettitive. The only reason I gave the game 3 stars was I'm not personally a fan of RISK.
VERY PLEASED

i love the board game version and this computure version added another element I loved how you could play with a all Europe or all North America, etc map and I also liked the addition of Generals in the Ultimate Risk mode the ebst thing about this game is that you can play even when your friends are not there
