Move Over Gran Turismo

Gran Turismo was the only reason to have a Playstation. Since the PS3 was hard to get I went with the Xbox 360. When I found out that Forza 2 was coming out I was looking forward to giving it a try. Let's just say I am glad I went with Xbox 360. Forza 2 blows Gran Turismo out of the water. The amount of cars and the countless options of painting and graphics makes this one of the most customizable games out there. Get the Xbox wheel and you become a better racer. One thing I love about this game is there are none of the silly licenses to get. You just race or practice. I don't have the time to try and complete a corner under a certain time just to get a license to drive in the game. I always would have to find cheat codes to get past those stupid things. Forza 2 you just go out and race. The more you win the more tracks and cars unlock, which is makes it fun. Isn't that why we do this. If you are holding out for Gran Turismo 5 or whatever it will be, Make the switch and never turn back. Forza 2 is a winner.

Great, even for a slow-poke like me!

Okay, so I love racing games. However, I have a problem. I can't seem to let up on the throttle. In PGR3, that meant plenty of crashes, but it was pretty forgiving.

However, I thought this would doom me when it came to Forza, which is more of a simulation racer than an arcade racer...and at first, it caused me a few problems. But Forza was also put together by folks who seem to want you to learn how to drive in the game. They have a set of wonderful "assists" for new (or overly aggressive) players like me, including traction control, antilock brakes, etc. The most important one is a braking/cornering guide. As you come to a corner, a set of arrows shows you the most efficient path for going through the corner. They're red if you're going too quickly, and they fade to white and disappear as you slow to a more appropriate speed. They're a great way both to help you learn what speeds are appropriate for a given corner, but they also help you get used to a new track much more quickly than you could without them.

What also sets Forza apart is the level of customization of your car. Sure, when you first drive a car, it may be a dog, but you can change everything about it to give it more power, more stability, better cornering, etc. You can also design the color scheme and graphics on your car.

All in all, this is a great experience, and I haven't even had a chance to race online yet! I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

This is a great game if you like to improve your driving line. It's not as "fun" as gothem racing where you can drift like there's no tomorrow. This is a game where the margin for error is as low as real life going at 100mph; one false move, brake too late, and you're spinning off the track. The tracks are also not as exciting as Playstation's GT, probably because they only offer race tracks and not city track (except new york, which is mostly a straightaway).

Graphics and variety are awesome

As many other people have already said, the graphics on this game are amazing. This game will keep you busy for a while with all the different modes and customizations you can do. If you search the web you will see the type of customization you can do to the cars that adds an awesome twist to the game.

Surprise bonus as a packaged game

I received this in a package with my 360. I've been a PS1&2 fan for the duration and I finally bought an original Xbox used after the 360 came out. But this time, after reading quite a bit about the 360 vs. the PS3, I decided to get the 360 first. I know that I'll eventually own both systems but it seems that there are many more good games written for the 360 at this point. I know the PS3 has more technical potential than the 360 but it doesn't seem like it's been realized yet by the programmers. I'm sure this is simply because the 360 beat the PS3 to marked just like the PS2 beat the original Xbox to market several years ago.

Anyway, because I'm a PS 1&2 fan, I really enjoyed the GT series and am still a big fan of them. I was pleasantly surprised at Forza2 as it came packaged with my 360. I think the game play is comparable to the GT series but there is a much greater selection of really high end sports cars (Ferrari, Lambroghini, etc.) than in the GT series. I know the damage isn't "realistic" but it does add an element of challenge that doesn't exist in GT. Overall, it's not a revolutionary step forward over GT but I do like it more. Maybe next Christmas, I'll buy a PS3 and hopefully GT4 will be out.

Forza Motorsports 2

I used to race Nascar on my computer with a steering wheel and I loved it. I soon learned the basics of setting up a car based on which track the race was at and had fun.
I bought the Xbox 360 and I got Forza Motorsports 2 as a part of the package. I also bought the steering wheel and started driving in arcade mode where I could drive all the different cars and in the beginning I was an a crash waiting to happen. Then I started a career and started driving the races with the slower speed cars and then slowly started upgrading them and doing the tuning to the suspenion and suddenly I was having a blast.

This ia a great game with wonderful graphics, realistic driving simulation, and the fun of taking a 210 HP car and buliding it up and running in progressive classes based on HP or against rival brands of cars. The variation and fun seem endless and I love the steering wheel kit that I bought.

The game is highly recommended for people who like to race and tinker with car upgrades and car handling.

Fun fun fun

Forza 2 is a great simulation racer. It is fun to have the ability to upgrade your car and then change the setup(tire pressure, ride hight, gear ratio, etc.). Plus with XBOX Live compatability you can race people around the world. Highly recommended for the novice and pro alike.

The best

Well, i got this game like 2 weeks ago. I can clearly state that this is the most amazing game i have ever played (car games). I had the ps2 and had all the gran turismo titles.. i loved gran turismo. Well, i think Forza's gonna beat GT HD on the PS3, because this game has something awesome... and that's car damage! Yeah, realistic car damage. I mean, if you would crash on the side of the car, the car starts going sidways and out of control, so you have some disadvantage from there on. Plus, you can paint your car with whatever design fits your artistic needs.
I get a little bit frustrated when i don't win all the time, but hey.. realism again.
I haven't played online yet, because i don't have a good enough car right now, but you can watch races (Forza Motorsport TV).. like tournaments or free play, or whatever. In conclusion, if you're looking for a quality racing game, don't look anywhere else. This is must have for any 360 owner :)

Fantastic, best racing simulation to date

By far the best racing game on the market. The graphics, physics, sound, and force feedback in the xbox 360 forceback steering wheel is outstanding. Many cars are very realistically modeled and have the same handling characteristics as the cars they model (at least the few cars in the game I have driven). One word....WOW :)
