So much fun

I love this game. It is so much better than all the other racing simulators I have tried. The graphics are really impressive, the audio is clear and active, and the game play is wonderful, both online and off. I have only played for several hours at this point, both online and off and both have been wonderful. The Career mode is great, with ability to tweak and upgrade my cars all the time. Multiplayer is really fun since you can compete with people with similar skill and car levels.
I highly recommend this game.

First off, comparing this game to a game like Need For Speed, is like comparing Halo to Rainbow Six. They're completely different styles of racing games. Forza is not about sliding around every corner at 120mph, it's a realistic racing simulator where your breaks are as important as your gas pedal. Just remember, sometimes you have to go slow to go fast.

Here are some pros and cons

Pros:

--Great selection of cars, with each one able to be fairly raced and upgraded without being stomped by everybody with one model of car (can anyone say the Honda CRX in the first Forza?)

--The graphics are amazing, i dont play on an HD television and the game still looks great.

--The car customization has endless possibilities if you're willing to spend the time, i saw a car the other day where someone had drawn Al Pacino from squares, circles, and other misc. shapes.

--You really feel like you're going fast, you can see your surroundings go speeding past you.

Cons:

--The music is annoying, luckily you can stream music from your computer to your 360.

--Long learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's very fun and addictive

--The AI Difficulties are sometimes misleading, sometimes easy is way too easy, while medium is too hard, and others medium is as easy as you would think easy should be (luckily you can change the difficulty before every race depending on how you're having trouble or feeling that you can take on harder)

One other thing that needs mentioning, do not rely on the demo too much to give you a great feel of what this game will be like, sure, you can see what a race is like, but i actually didn't like the demo, and i love the game.

And last, don't give up on Forza, as i've mentioned before it's got a long learning curve. I'd recommend for beginners to start with the Suggested Line turned on, then eventually move to Braking Only. If you're having trouble with this game, knowing when to break, how much to break, how long to break, etc. is probably what is screwing you up.

Great game, buy it.

i'm loving everything about the game. the graphics and sound are awesome. the physics are good. car damage is cool. for me, the visuals of being able to modify the car, putting on different rims, lowering the car, etc. and taking pictures make the game that much more. the game is much more enjoyable after i got the drivefx wheel from logitech.

Forza Motorsport 2 is the best racing sim I've played to date. It builds on top of the original formula which Gran Turismo truly pioneered.

The thing that really set Forza apart from Gran Turismo has to be the car customization. It has got to be one of the most in depth customization feature in a game (besides Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition). You can truly make your car your own from painting the car, adding an incredible amount of graphic layers (do you know how many General Lee's I've seen online!?), even changing rim style, size and width!!! Think of Forza like the World of Warcraft of the car racing genre. Also Forza has actual damage (it's pretty good but not perfect, cars could fall apart more or crumple more) and you leave tread marks on the ground. That alone makes it more realistic than the GT series.

Another thing I have to give the Turn 10 team props for is the A.I. It's a very nice change to have a computer opponent that actually brakes early because you brake early and one that actually tries to go around you. And because the A.I. uses the same driving physics as the user it can make mistakes occasionally.

Once you've played enough of the single career and you got some sweet rides to compete with it's time to jump online. This portion of the game is sooo much fun. You really test your skill and vehicles abilities when you race against thousands that are out to do the same thing. Tuning becomes a big factor here. You want your car set up so it's easy for you to control and isn't sliding all over the place (even though yes it does look very cool). Also one setup might work great for let's say Leguna Seca (tight turns), but you might have to make a whole new setup for a track like Mazda Speed Way or New York (mainly top speed). Real world knowledge of cars and driving physics is an asset but it can be learned along the way.

This time around you can tell the physics have been tweaked and I think the cars are a little easier to control in this game compared to the first one. If you set a car up properly you can drift a whole course pretty easily (if you're good at counter steering) and make some pretty cool replay videos. The feel of the game feels like a mix between Forza and Gran Turismo 3, hard to put my finger on why but you'll get it when you play it.

My only problem with the game is I wish there were a few more tracks for variety (maybe some point to point racing?) and more deep dish rims to pick from. Both of which can be solved with down loadable content and neither are that big of a deal.

Overall pretty much any racing fan with a 360 should own this game. It can appeal to the casual racer or a hardcore driver (thanks to the ability to turn off or on assists, damage and difficulty levels). So basically what I'm saying is, if you like driving games BUY THIS ONE!!!

This is going to be a short review because I currently have this game paused, and I really want to get back to racing. Yes, its that good. This game has over 300 cars, from 1970s era junkers to 2007 Supercars. The tracks are fantastic, detailed, and fun. The sense of speed is amazing. The music fits perfectly with the racing theme of the game, without being too annoying. If you're a newbie or a pro, the difficulty of the game can be tailored to fit your needs. Car customization is deep and engrossing. The game runs at an amazing 60 frames per second (the movies in the theater run at 24 fps) The entire game is addictive. But...I have a couple complaints, although tiny, small complaints.

1. I feel like I really have to work for my money sometimes, after a long race I wish I got a little bit more.
2. There could be a couple extra tracks
3. The graphics, while smooth, could have used a couple extra days of polish in a few small areas
4. The game is way too addictive, and I end up staying up too late playing it. They need to make it less fun

When first building out our Xbox game collection we read great reviews about this game as well as received a number of personal recommendations.

My husband is a huge Formula One fan and found this game to be of great interest both visually and play wise.

I can't help but think the controllers are possessed (in a bad way) when they're in my hands as I crash and burn every time. Don't get me wrong, I have a great time playing, but I laugh a little too much and get into SF Taxi Driver mode.

This is not a good combo when playing with a serious racer, such as my husband ;-)

Overall, a good time for those with all levels of racing enthusiasm.

I'll keep this short as most game reviews are the same.
I have about 10 hours into this game so far.

In my opinion this is the best racer to be released on the 360 to date.
Some of the things that really stick out:
Graphics are superb; damage is worth it all!
Sound is great
Play is smooth as silk
Multiplayer is really fun, it is also nice to be able to talk to the other players while the game is loading. Not too many games have that option.
Another cool multiplayer bit is you can watch a race going on and you can use a telemetry view which gives a lot of different stats on the car you are watching, this is really neat to see.

The only gripe so far I have is when playing multiplayer there is no music during the races. If you play music from your hard drive be sure to turn the music volume all the way down on the main menu or it will mix the game music and your music together when in the lobby and it sounds awful.

Race on!

AWESOME!!!

This game is really good sim. especially if you have the Microsoft Racing Wheel which by the way has dropped $20 in price! Having the racing wheel will make the game a whole lot better. like if you go in the grass or rough terrain the wheel will rumble and twitch and be harder to control and its proven to what a real car wheel would feel like plowing into grass going 185 MPH. Theres also around 350 cars with thousand of upgrades. You also has the option to switch engines example i put my Ferrari F50 engine in my Nissan Fairlady the engine has 850 Horse power and 1100 pounds of torque so when i enter an online race and they see a Nissan fairlady against a lamborguine the first thing they say is NOOOB!! Then i hit 60 MPH in 2.3 seconds and beat them by 7 seconds. Thats when i say whad u say to meh?

No Fun

I dont know about anyone else, but i dont have a racing wheel. i am going to buy one, but without one for this game, you cant drive!!!! i spent over 1/2 an hour trying to get around one turn without crashing, and/or skidding out, and spinning. i cant controll the cars with the little mobility of the left stick. they tell you to brake around corners, but when i brake, my car spins in cirlces, and then i have to rive back to get myself started. its not good, i might change my oppinion when i get a racing wheel, otherwise. DONT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU DONT HAVE A RACING WHEEL!

Woahhhh

Bought it and hooked up with it. Graphics awesome, physics amazing, Multiplayer serious fun, campaign fun as usual and tons of tracks. Must buy for every xbox owner :) BTW, Do not get why they gave it not a 10.0 on IGN.
